We had been kicked out of 2 schools and working on our 3rd. We had been hearing about brain balance for awhile and decided it was time to check it out. From the very beginning we felt so much hope and encouragement. We were welcomed with open arms and felt like this was exactly where we needed to be... mainly we felt like we were surrounded by a community of friends who were there with you to connect and talk and encourage each other through struggles..in saying all of this the best part of brain balance is that we have seen so much emotional breakthrough in our sons life. He is also developed so much physical strength and balance and now is way more confident riding his bike and playing sports and doing much better in school and at home. He is a different child and now we have a foundation to build and continue to grow on. We have also come away with lifelong friends who have become more like family. We will never be able to thank all the coaches and staff enough for all their hard work and commitment to these kids and the families

The teaching method is very effective. All my children read at a high level with fantastic fluency. My children have a strong math foundation and an impressive breathe of historical knowledge. I know there is lot of negative comments about this school and the administration online, but it is unwarranted. There are many lovely families at Thales, the tuition is very affordable, the year round schedule is the absolute best, especially if you have wiggly boys (we have five) Homework is minimal. I suggest looking at the school and speaking to the personnel, it will speak for itself.

When they changed the course midway, they changed everything to audio. Also, there is no reference given to identify sources. How do we put blind trust in Jessie? For the amount of money, I will finish. However, I recommend that you take a real distance learning course with reference and materials. There are many to choose from. I will be completing one of those next.

Evan was my proctor and he supported me through the hours we were together taking the ACT. Once I got finished with the test, I immediately got my score and Evan answered any questions that I had about the test. I also purchased the Thrive Tutoring ACT analytics which told me everything that I needed to know about how I performed on the test. The night before my real ACT all I did to study was look over the extensive analytics I got from my practice test with Evan. Because of this, while taking the ACT I felt confident because those analytics really gave me effective pacing guidance. A few weeks later I got my score back and I found out that I got a three point increase in my score from that summer!! The analytics really were the major factor that let me achieve this feat. He started off going to one of her practice tests at the library, which included an excellent debriefing. During this meeting with Suzanne, I felt comfortable that she had a wealth of information about standardized testing and about math-kids who need help with reading. Sam met with her a number of weeks and when he re-took the ACT, his reading score drastically improved. I would recommend Above Grade Level to anyone who wants a personalized intervention. I could never get my kids to do any online practice tests on their own and they did not make the time to use the review books. A tutor was the best option for us and I could not have been happier with the money and time we spent with Above Grade Level.
