We called in January and was asking about positions opening up, as I was about to leave for military training. The owner answered the phone and responded very rudely stating that nobody told us there were openings Spring of 2024, and that we must have made that up, because there isn't availability until 2025. He stated that we were lying about someone saying there were openings in Spring of 2024. Why would we lie about something we were told?? Then we get a call in March of 2024 saying that there's an opening (wow Spring of 2024 like stated before) but I absolutely will not bring my child to a facility where the manager would rather call parents liars than just speak the truth about not knowing. The manager is clearly greedy, prideful, and immature for calling me a liar when integrity is my first core value. I paid a deposit to be disrespected and insulted.

I received a call shortly after picking up my son, concerning his return the next day. They…read moreindicated that he would not be able to come back due to what they described as my disrespect. However, during my conversation with Jim, he mentioned that this issue has been ongoing for several weeks. This follows a discussion I had with a staff member regarding the disrespectful comments made during an incident where two other staff members attempted to label my child as a troublemaker. It is worth noting that I had just left the facility, where everyone had been very kind and accommodating to me. When I returned to the school to resolve the situation, I was let in by a staff member. However, Jim reacted by slamming his phone down, pointing his finger, and jumping up yelling at me in front of my child, which created a distressing experience for him. According to the handbook on page 16, paragraph two, staff are expected to behave in a non-threatening manner, yet Jim's conduct was hostile and intimidating. I am attempting to understand the appropriate timing for convening a meeting with parents when there are concerns about a parent's disrespectful behavior towards both children and staff. It is troubling that the parent has not been informed of these issues, yet the child faces the severe consequence of expulsion from school. How is it possible for weeks to pass without any communication, only for a child to be expelled just a week before Christmas for matters that could have been addressed earlier? It seems evident that there may have been a personal bias influencing this decision. It seems that some staff members on your roster are not adequately prepared to engage with toddlers and their parents. Establishing a sense of comfort and preference in an educational environment is crucial at a young age. Goddard Is suppose to be an education performed for young minds and the foundation of there future which seems you all have failed my son .

I was scheduled numerous interviews for jobs that I can now no longer attend. If I'm paying money, I would assume that the services are expected to be rendered without issues like this happening. This is unprofessional to say the least and my son will not be returning to your daycare. To be verbally attacked and yelled at in front of my child and other children, who might I also add that Ela said there were no children in the building when she was yelling at me from down the hallway. I will be filing a report with the BBB and taking further actions necessar . Thank you for showing your true colors. I also want to add, that yes, I did get a little hot headed as well after being verbally attacked and refused services for no reason except that my wife wasnt working that day. But when it comes to my children and my education and you verbally attack me in front of them, do not expect me to not stand my ground, as I hope ANY parent would do.

There are a lot of expectations on parents as far as protocols and drop off and pick up times (even after changing close time from 6 pm to 5 pm), yet my child's daily report card isn't filled out half the time. I never know what he ate or how much. The nap time is CLEARLY copied on every paper, so I don't know how long my child actually slept. The last two years, there was supposed to be "parent teacher conferences" that was canceled on the day of the meeting. They don't actually care about feedback. I don't care about frills - I don't need cameras and I don't need Montessori style classrooms. I do expect someone who is watching my kid all day to make them feel welcome. I do expect to be able to know when my child slept and what my child ate. I expect to know why my child got a "grumpy" on their daily sheet, and why that is the only time they choose to circle the many options for "mood for the day." My expectations are not exactly high, yet this school falls incredibly short.

This is our 3rd year our child has been attending Brentwood Montessori Academy. My husband was not…read moreconvinced going into our first year...He said one, maybe two years, but that definitely changed!. The first year, she started to write in cursive...The second year she moved into a new classroom and had several work stations, jobs, and an extra bonus of getting to go to violin class (with only paying a violin rental of $20 a month), and several extra curricular activities that we could add on after school (1 hour extra). Her teachers noticed after a few weeks she was behind on reading a little, and let us know promptly so we could get right on to ramping up her reading...She made a huge turn around! We love this environment of learning. We love that kids are able to be kids, but also learn lots of responsibility and independence. They get to go home and be a kid without loads of homework, although, you can request some learning sheets to be sent home. Now, in our choice to choose Montessori once again, for a 3rd year in 2020, we had a couple important requirements with our choice to go back. We already had an excellent experience so far, but the pandemic and how it was going to be handled at Montessori was key to us continuing. After reading their new policy, we saw that great efforts were made in making the children's environment as normal as possible. This was absolutely critical in us sending our daughter back. They had also placed common sense approaches for keeping kids and staff safe. Because the kids have separate work spaces where they do their individual work, they are already socially distanced. They do temperature checks where my child can be checked with her wrist. They also have hand sanitizing stations (my child is able to bring her organic sanitizer-90% ) and they take the time to keep things extra clean. They have a great system of separating rooms, in case of Covid exposure which really limits the amount of shut downs. This has been brilliant! We have seen the damaging effects of other overly strict policies in so many other surrounding schools (including a lot of depression, discouragement, and lack of learning) so we couldn't be more happy in the way they have handled this so far. Because she is able to go back to school, and not have us home school her, the teachers were able to recognize that she had a bit of a learning disability and we were able to immediately jump on that and get a tutor. One of her teachers actually took the time to educate herself better on her type of disability in order to understand and be able to serve her and some other kids with this issue even better. We would have never even known she had some issues. Now we can save her the heartache of losing her self confidence and falling behind. We highly support Jim Bernstorf and his highly compassionate & knowledgeable staff. We thank them so much for the way they teach the children. Thanks to them, our child can go to school in freedom. As Maria Montessori said, "Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water; and, when the grass of the meadows is damp with dew, let them run on it and trample it with their bare feet; let them rest peacefully when a tree invites them to sleep beneath its shade; let them shout and laugh when the sun wakes them in the morning as it wakes every living creature that divides its day between walking and sleeping."
