I went in looking for the dropcat 38' and the had the exact model I wanted. Very good value, only thing is the parking situation, obviously since you're at the beach it's a little bit of a hassle. My 13yo daughter wanted to buy a skateboard while we were here on holiday from London. Her Google search returned High 5 as the first listing, and the reviews looked great, so off we went. I've never bought a skateboard before, and my daughter has never been on one, so this was enough to make me feel more than a bit nervous. The shop keeper/owner was on the phone when we arrived; however, as soon as he hung up, he was 100% dedicated to us (and I think this is how he is with all his customers, which is why the phone call may have lasted longer than one would normally expect). He was patient and kind, asking all kinds of questions to help us understand the types of options for a beginner. He immediately grabbed a board and took my daughter out to have a try in front of the shop on the wide pavement. He demonstrated, and then, with historic patience, taught her how to ride over a 25-minute period. I could not believe his dedication, his commitment, his patience and was so appreciative of his manner with my 13yo. Thanks to his expertise, she was confident from the start, and was fairly up to speed by the end. After learning we would be flying back to London, he even gifted us a box to use to check in the skateboard with the airline. He was careful to ensure we understood that a quality board would last for years, and as first time buyers, this was important information. The entire experience was awesome! Our adventure as first time buyers was absolutely wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone to shop at High 5. (Sorry I did not get the shop keeper's name - he was terrific!) The shop itself is very nice aswell as the area its placed in. However the dealbreaker is the price. I have never seen a more overpriced skateshop in my life. They were selling $27 Trucks for $75 which is ridiculous. As much as I want to love this place I cant because of the pricing. If the pricing was lowered a bit more than possibly it would be a viable option for me. Its a very nice store but the price is a dealbreaker. read more

As a local, I want to support and rate local store positive to encourage other to shop in our community. However, their prices are way over the MSRP given by many companies. My daughter wanted to upgrade her longboard, and we purchased the ICARUS Loaded Skateboard, and we paid 100 dollars over sticker price. Maybe their business model is geared towards tourism. I definitely would advise caution when going there. Please check prices online and ask for a price match. Otherwise, go to FRITZ, they sell according to manufacturer's MSRP. read more
