I just wanted to write it now because the dental office we go to now just amplifies how much more superior in service and quality Seastar is. It was only due to the fact that Delta Dental was not serving Seastar that we left this amazing dental office. My son who is now five. He had a great experience first experience and any other ones he had later. They caught and confirmed that he had a lip and tongue tie -- our pediatrician noticed it as well. That is when we decided to get those both taken care of here. Both were taken care of quickly and kindly. I have nothing but gratitude for this place making the dental experience so smooth and enjoyable for my little one. It was so sweet that Dr. Cherish sang twinkle twinkle little star to help distract him. My son loves the dentist and I believe it is due to his great experiences here. The first time when we came here, my daughter was scared and brought her stuffed animal for comfort. The dentist gave the stuffy an "exam" too, just to make her feel more comfortable. I appreciated her taking the time to see him, but I didn't appreciate her scaring us, and our kid, into thinking he needed a crown on a baby tooth. Thankfully the office staff were kind but it was very crowded in the office. The chairs that the kids sat in were all pretty close together. So there wasn't much privacy between the doc and the patient, since the patient next to us could hear everything. Not to mention, the treatments Dr. Lee recommended supposedly needed to be done right away, but when we asked the front office what days they had available, they said they couldn't fit him in until July. The staff and the dental professionals were all kind, but I'm afraid this just isn't the office for us.

You would expect a warm, welcoming, and patient-centered environment--but that has not been my experience at all. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels impersonal. The staff are not particularly friendly or engaging with either the children or their parents. Each visit feels rushed, like you're being pushed through an assembly line so they can move on to the next patient. The dental assistants do their jobs, but there's little effort to connect with the kids, which is concerning for a pediatric-focused office. Dr. Gabby is okay, but nothing exceptional. Her bedside manner is average, and overall, the experience doesn't feel especially reassuring or welcoming. The biggest issue, however, is the billing. It's completely disorganized. The billing department is offsite, and the front desk staff are unable to clearly explain charges. At each of my first three visits, I specifically asked if there were any co-pays or balances due and was told everything was covered. Then, nearly two years later at my fourth visit, I'm suddenly told I have an overdue balance for all previous appointments. That makes no sense. When I asked for an itemized bill, they couldn't provide one and told me I would have to contact the billing department myself. They provided me with the balance due but said "I'm not actually for what this is for though." That level of disconnect and lack of transparency is incredibly frustrating and, frankly, concerning. Overall, the experience feels disorganized and impersonal. Between the poor customer service and the billing issues, I will definitely be finding a different dental practice for my children.

They were terrified to go but Dr. Ishioka was so kind, so gentle, used child-friendly language, and truly listened to both the kids and to me as their mom to ensure that everyone was comfortable throughout. Her communication with me as a parent was excellent, both before their appointments and for follow up afterwards. My 3 year old had to have a tooth extracted and I was shocked at how calmly and patiently she approached him and explained everything to him. She listened to him when he needed a break and really went above and beyond to ensure that the procedure was successful -- without sedation! She even called afterwards to make sure he was okay. My 6 year old is pretty sensitive and nervous and she used a variety of excellent tools and strategies to ensure that he got a good quality cleaning, exam, and x-rays while still going at his pace without forcing or pressuring him. I'm so grateful to have found Dr. Ishioka and her team. We'll absolutely continue care with her and my kids are actually looking forward to their next visit!
