My girlfriend and I were exploring Amarillo and stumbled into high fidelity on sixth street. Other than the amazing collection of vinyls for sale, the entire atmosphere will make any music lover feel right at home. Definitely a must-visit for anyone trying to explore the gems of the city. Nice store with a lot of musical paraphernalia. Sporadically organized by genre and subjective taste for instance, cool stuff is really varied rock. Prices seem fair when compared to eBay. they have a reasonably sized collection although I disagree with a few categories Bon Jovi is not metal. Nice free keychain of Route 66 gives it a personal touch. read more

Decided to explore the super cool antique strip on 6th St. on our way through Amarillo and stumbled upon a gem! This record store was cozy but had some great finds that were worth the dig! The owner, Ray, was also suuuper welcoming and after a short conversation was able to recommend some awesome vinyls (I ended up getting Frank Barber Orchestra medleys of some of the greats for only $5) as well as local food spots! Gotta stop in and check out this shop if you are in Amarillo and enjoy good music! Tried to get Ray to ship records to California, where I'm from, but he kindly let us know that his focus is on his community which I thought was very admirable. Great owner, great vinyl selection, great overall experience!! read more

Was visiting family in Amarillo over the holidays and stumbled into this amazing little record shop! Great stock of both old and new pressings, plus a bunch of great CDs. I even saw some amazing rare vinyls that I could never afford but are so fun to see! The staff were also so so sweet and friendly, true music lovers for sure. Will definitely be visiting again the next time I'm in town. read more

This place is great! Great vibe and the records are organized very well! They have some other funky things like shirts, stickers, incense etc. The best part about this place is the staff - so friendly, chill, and lovely! Ray rocks! read more

I had to ask several times if a professional had evaluated the situation before the owner responded. many of the store patrons harassed me for asking this simple question. finally after waves of insults from other patrons the owner told me he DID NOT have his store treated by a professional. he literally wanted me to come to the store to talk about this, but i dont want to go to the store if they have bed bugs! DUH! I dont understand why the owner couldn't just answer this simple question? anyway in the end I got kicked out the community page by the owner or moderator. all my comments were deleted. I feel this place is ran by elitist gamers. I never felt more disrespected by a game store in my life. I would not recommend this business as it is not only is the store not safe but its NOT FRIENDLY for anyone outside their clique. I would give 0 stars if I could because at least when the store use to be ARCHERS I never felt this unwelcomed. I'm going to post this review but I'm pretty sure it will get deleted too.

I was shocked when I stepped foot in this place. It's out in the countryside south of Amarillo, not…read moreon a major road or visible from the highway, yet it was huge and gorgeous inside! We were first attracted to the glazed pots outside because they had such a nice collection of colors. Then we walked into the greenhouse and were greeted with the heavenly fragrance of petunias from the many hanging baskets above the rows of plants. It's one of those nurseries where you can find just about any kind of plant you've been looking for. All of the plants are beautiful specimens in tip-top condition. The greenhouse adjoins another greenhouse that is decked out with very luxurious patio furniture and decor and is followed by more rows of plants to the right and the main store entrance to the left. It's absolutely gorgeous in there! We sort of explored this business in a round about way, but eventually made it to the front section of the store which is a large room nicely decorated with antiques, collectibles, and melamine dishes... all for sale! This place is pricey, I would say twice the price of what you'd pay for a comparable product elsewhere, but it was such an unexpected gem we ran across while cruising the countryside that I think it's something everyone should explore when in the area. It seemed like the inside was her realm while the husband told us that the rock gardens surrounding the business were all his. The selection is truly amazing and I found both cacti specimens that I had been searching for (and then some). This will be a stop for us whenever we are in these here parts again. I found succulents here that I've never seen anywhere, including at nurseries in southern California that I visit twice yearly. One in particular, Chinese dunce cap, I've been hunting for for two years during my travels and have finally found it here, in Amarillo, Texas of all places! I have had the opportunity to buy it online, but I prefer to buy in person from quality nurseries. They have helpful photos with descriptions and directions for care posted above most of the plants. As we walked through the succulent greenhouse Tracy walked along with us offering helpful advice and taking our picks to the counter so we didn't have to carry them around. Afterward we went to the outdoor/perennial area where we were met by Val and she graciously offered us a guided tour through their lovely rock/cactus garden pointing out plants that are hardy for our growing zone. We had a wonderful time and will definitely go back every time we visit Amarillo!
