Extremely dissatisfied with the quality of craftsmanship for what these screens cost. The screen in front isn't even tight in the frame as you can see in the picture. They are made out of the truck at your home. When I asked how they would be mounted I was told tabs, never told they would be screwed into my home. Not only that but they are done fast and the tab isn't even long enough to cover the screw and you can see they aren't even in straight. Have a big window in front that as a little window above asked about 2 screens and was told normally they do one but can put a decorative bar to help with aesthetics but when installers came I asked why it wasn't done and they said they couldn't do it and not sure why I was told as such by the salesman. No return envelope and I hadn't even had the bill 3 days and I was being called asking where my payment was. I got the bill on Friday and I literally put it in the mail for outgoing on Saturday. I asked to pay to the salesman and the installer and both said no an invoice was sent and just send in the payment. I did bring up my dissatisfaction with the owner he did offer to eat the cost and remove the screens from my home however I would be left with the screw holes I was unaware that would be put in. As also seen in picture one screen isn't tight as a wrinkle in it. He proceeded to state that I must not be from here (I'm born and raised) to not know the high quality product he offers. Paperwork also stated a 15 year warranty but I was told lifetime and when I asked about that was told well as long as he owns the business he will take care of it but he is in 70, so when he sales he can't guarantee what new owner will do. read more

We had a screen installed on the south side of our house and during HIGH WINDS the screen flew off the window. We called them looking for the right type of clasps to reinstall the screen and they dropped them off at the house and didn't charge us. The screen has done a great job keeping the direct sun out of the south facing bedroom. read more

These solar screens are AMAZING! Mark and his crew are great to work with. Mark is very passionate about what he does and takes the time to sit down with each customer and learn what their specific needs are and how he can best meet those needs. High Desert Solar Shields are custom made here in the Tri-Cities and installation is hassle free. The back of our house is angled southeast and gets the sunlight all day/year long. In the summer it's nearly unbearable and even in the winter the light is overwhelming. These solar screens take care of both issues - our house has been significantly cooler since installing the screens. We still get light, but no longer are counters/appliances/furniture warm/hot to the touch. Quite incredible! Another great benefit to these screens is the wind block factor. Even if it's windy/stormy - we can have the windows open and the screens block nearly everything - you cannot feel or hear wind even when it's 50+mph - again absolutely amazing! I had solar screens installed this week May 16, 2016 and I am happy with the product and staff. The only staff I met was the salesman Richard, but he made his pitch and there was not pressure like with other salesmen. The other staff came and measured my windows, built the screens and the returned and installed. No hassle for me or my family. I gave four stars because of cost, but I do believe the screens will last a long long time. I considered this before I purchased and I am here to recommend High Desert Solar Screens. read more

Unfortunately...these screens are of a low quality. I was a little suspect when Mark (the owner) gave me the sales pitch and I should have trusted my gut. Instead I puchased screen for my sliding glass door only (in lieu of the entire south face of the house). My thought was that if the product and installation exceeded my expectations I would then place an order for the rest of the windows as initially planned. Now I regret placing an order at all. The installer scratched the frame during (before?) installation and then used an off color touch-up paint. The screen was fastened to the window trim with drywall screws (black screws really stand out against the white frame and will certainly rust over time)....the list goes on. Save some money and go to home depot and buy the materials yourself. Trust your gut. read more

We decided to check out High Desert Solar Screens this year due to the excessive heat we were experiencing throughout the summer. We are so happy with the results of having these screens installed on our windows. Our house is mostly windows on the western and southern facing sides. The difference was noticeable the first day the screens were installed. The process was very quick and easy. Mark and his team are so professional and hardworking, even through all the heat and smoke we were experiencing in eastern WA. We can open our blinds and see the beautiful view and not experience the rise in temperature inside the house we have in the past. The screens look very nice and I appreciate the privacy they provide. I recommend High Desert Solar Screens to anyone who wants to maintain their indoor house temperature and still have a great view. I would like to express my satisfaction over the window solar screens I had installed on my home by High Desert Solar Screens. They have been up on the house sometime now (about 4 years), and I have seen significant heat reduction in the summer. Previously my air conditioning had to work pretty hard, just to get a passably comfortable internal temperature of 85 or 90 degrees when it was over 100 outside. Now, with the solar screens on all the windows, I set the thermostat to 75 degrees and that's the temperature the air conditioner actually maintains through out the house. I'm not exactly sure, but at a guess, I'd say the screens have incurred a temperature reduction of about 10 or 15 degrees on their own, even when it's triple digits outside. And less work by the air conditioner has meant a lower electricity bill. Because the window screens worked so well that first summer they were up, I added several roll down screens on my front patio/covered walkway, which faces to the south and gets tremendous SW winds blowing right through it. With a full roll down at each end and five more between each set of post supports along the front, the wind and dust was reduced to a comfortable level, along with the elimination of glaring sunlight. By my experience, after 4 years, the screens have and are still performing as advertised, and they look good on the house, matching the style and color of the window framing perfectly. Finally, the sale and installation went smoothly, more or less exactly as the owner, Mr. Dade promised. Overall, I'm very happy with the screens and the people at High Desert Solar Screens, and would recommend them to others. read more
