Went in to the store on 7-24-2026 with my Wife and Son's family to buy some items…read more My wife and I saw some gloves on sale and since I was helping with some work being done on my Son's property I decided to get us a new pair of gloves that were in the "on sale section" were the gloves were placed. Now we live in East Texas, four hours away from Mineral Wells. The gloves were "marked down" between $11-12.00 per pair. Which was a good price. When we checked out at the cash register, my wife paid for them and I had already walked outside so I assumed that she was watching the prices of the gloves and what was paid for them and then got her receipt. Well you know how assumptions go. She didn't get her receipt, nor did she pay attention to price that we were charged for the gloves. Unknown to us the one pair of gloves that we thought was on sale for $11-12.00 that was placed in the sale section area was actually over $39. Oh hell no.. So we called the store after verifying through our bank what the actual charge was to explain the situation to them. That the gloves were placed in the sale section and marked as being on sale. How far away that we live from them and if they would adjust the sale and credit our card back to our bank of the difference. NOPE, NOT HAPPENING. Okay, can I return the gloves and get my money back even though I've used them? Sure you can. So you're going to make me drive over eight hours to return gloves, that your company erroneously placed in the sale area instead of providing excellent customer service to a customer which it will cost me over $100 in gas, wear n tear on my vehicle to get my money back? That's your choice Sir. I'll see you in two weeks, print your copy of the (my) receipt out and put my name on it, so that there is not confusion because I'm making this trip to return both pairs of gloves. I tool and hardware store with items on discount, it's a great place!…read more The store is in an older building, the outside shows it's age, but the inside was redone a bit, it's somewhat clean, not real dusty like other old stores. The products that they carry aren't you normal name brand type of items. You won't find brands like DeWalt, Craftsman, Porter Cable, etc. The tools here are on average good, especially the hard sets that don't have moving parts. The electric and pneumatic items, it would behove a person to do a little research to see about quality before spending the money thinking they are saving money on a good deal. I did notice some company miter saws for less expensive than what is found at, say, Lowes or Home Depot, but the quality isn't as good, tho with some diligence, a good one could be had for a decent price. The static tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, socket wrenches, etc, these from my experience are just as good as others and often carries the same lifetime warranties as the big name brands, so that's a win win. Staff is always helpful and friendly. They always have lots in stock. They used to have a wooden table of bins towards the back full of discounted items, today that table was missing. Overall it's a great store with some really friendly staff.
