My husband and I decided to try out this spa on Easter since Tomoko was not open. They were very accommodating and nice and we were in and out of there no problem. We got a 70min couples massage and it was good. At a $400 price tag I expected a little more than what we got. Maybe we got used to how they do it at Tomoko. With the foot massage, we were seated on uncomfortable chairs. The massage was okay but I did like the 2 little "candies" they gave us for our feet. After the foot massage we started the full body massage. For the first 10-20min they give you a "dry massage" where they massage you with your robe on. I didn't really enjoy this part so much and I was anxious to "start the real massage and I was ready to go commando!" I suggest that in the future they skip this part altogether. For the body massage they used Jasmine Oil on me and I hate the smell of Jasmine! I would have preferred Lavender, Frankincese or Rose or even just a plain organic coconut oil would do. The massage was pretty good and when it came to the facial and head massage I was in heaven! My husband didn't really enjoy his massage. He said the girl was nice but she kept on massaging the same spot over and over again and that she didn't really work on his legs! I was not happy to hear this because my therapist was pretty good and I wanted him to enjoy it as much as I did. I mean my massage was good but not great. I really enjoyed the face and head massage though. This place has a lot of potential but is lacking in many areas. You simply cannot beat Tomoko because the waiting lounge here alone is too tiny and had zero privacy. At Tomoko, they provide you with the Japanese wooden sandals upon arrival and some hot organic tea and the whole place is just really intimate and smells heavenly. Then they give you warm peppermint tea during the foot massage and the chairs are luxurious (more like reclining salon chairs) and they wrap a warm towel around your neck - this is what I expected at Hideko spa. Instead, we were seated on 2 tiny wooden stools. Also this spa didn't have that heavenly smell as soon as we got there so I was like "meh". For a couple of $100 more I would've fully enjoyed Tomoko but this place was the only open one. The price is still a little steep and I expected all the bells and whistles and it fell short. I would not go back to this place unless it was gifted to me. Unless the massage was only $100 a pop then it's not worth it. Otherwise do yourself a favor and go all the way and treat yourself at Tomoko Spa! read more

Let me just start out by saying that I had the BEST time at Hideko Spa. I had a lot of high hopes coming in especially after having the most grueling, strenuous, and mentally draining week at work. I came in on a Saturday at 4:30pm and I was fortunate to find a parking spot right outside of it on the street meter. I took it as a sign that this place was meant to be from the minute I parked. I was welcomed in and they were very quick to assist me and everyone in there was super friendly! I got the Hideko Experience for 180 mins. Started out with a nice foot soak & foot massage and then a 50 minute massage, which was the best massage I've ever gotten in my life & I've gotten plenty of massages in my time. I'm talking once a week massages and this was the best EVER. She hit every point that I circled on the sheet prior and stretched me during it as well. That was followed by a gentle body scrub and wrap. I was nervous beforehand because I know body scrubs can be a little too aggressive, but it was just right. I took a quick shower to rinse and my body felt like butter from the scrub. I dipped into a hot, soothing, bath followed by cheesecake with a birthday candle, tea, and cold water! I had to look at the date to see if today was my birthday! thought I was born in December?! Haha but then the tub started getting a little too warm so I hopped out early. Didn't have to wait too long before Bo went ahead and did my facial to top it off. No extractions which is perfectly fine but a pretty good facial massage with hot and cold towels. This whole experience didn't feel rushed, I felt like I was the only one in the establishment, and the service was outstanding. Will I come again? YES. ABSOLUTELY. TAKE ALL MY MONEY. I absolutely love Hideko Spa. I've been here multiple times and I think that every penny I've spent here was worth it. I actually wrote a review for this establishment before, but I wanted to update it, so I deleted the old one. I've taken my family here on more than one occasion because I wanted to share with them this incredible experience. Momo is also SO NICE. Such a kind lady. I can't imagine anyone saying anything bad about her. She is also very generous. The kimonos they put you in are also so cute and so comfortable we bought 3 and Momo gave us complimentary face washes. It was very cute. The massage itself is also amazing. They really get rid of any knots you have and the foot ritual makes you feel like a princess, plus u get really soft feet. At the end of each session you get tea and some sort of Japanese snack/treat. For my sister's birthday celebration, Momo brought out a slice of cake along with the snacks. That cake was on a premium level. Like I would literally buy that cake, that's how good it was. I would recommend anyone to give this place a try. If you have seen this place on TikTok...run to make a reservation! I cannot tell you how amazing the couples massage is and Miko is truly the best. When we got there we were greeted at the parking lot and walked into the spa where we filled out some questions about where we are having some sore spots. After marking the sheets we went into the room and given robes and covers for our private areas. Also to note, if you get a couples massage make sure you are super comfortable with your partner because it was very intimate. After we changed the masseuses came in and began the massage, which to our pleasant surprise was a standing massage. It was our first time experience that and i truly loved it. After that the scrub was amazing and felt it working right away and they wrap you up in a little burrito and let all the grub seep into your skin. Once you are down the masseuses draw you both a bath and leave you to rinse off and eat a snack (if you purchased that package). My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years so we were pretty comfortable marring eachothers body so heads up about that. They make you change into their own underwear and bra. They don't cover much so you gotta be comfortable with them seeing your private parts because they def will. Customers were being loud and distracting and the masseuse were very apologetic and owner came in and apologized and offered 30 more minutes for free! She was the sweetest. This massage and the whole spa experience was everything I needed! My mother got a massage the week before and told me how amazing it was, and how they treated her like family. As soon as I called and talked to Momo, and told her whose son I was, she became so excited over the phone and her warmth already put me at ease. When I first walked into the lobby area of the spa, Momo was so sweet and helpful walking me through the process, and getting me set up in my private spa room. The whole ambiance of the place was really special, from the front desk/lobby area, to the hallway, and the private room. And of course, the massage was amazing! I'm an athlete, so I prefer deep tissue massages, and the pressure the masseuse gave was perfect. And she was good about checking in with me and making sure if I wanted any adjustments, which I didn't, I was just enjoying it. She had really strong hands that were smoothing out knots in my body that I didn't even know existed! I t was so relaxing, and she was funny and personable too. She made me laugh a couple of times during the massage so it was a nice balance of relaxation and humor and working out deep tension within my body. Afterwards they provided a very tasty and calming tea in the lobby/reception area which was a nice way to close out this experience. One of the best massages I've had in LA (his was as well). The treatment room was romantic, comfortable, and very clean. The refreshment was a nice treat after the massage and shower. One of the most unique and wonderful experience I've had in a long time. My gf and I came for our anniversary and could not have been more delighted to have done this. If you're looking for a traditional massage/spa experience, this isn't it. It's not a typical massage, it's not a typical bath house and it's not a typical anything. There were many firsts for me when coming here. We had a private room to ourselves, were given disposable underwear for the whole thing and given yukata to wear. The massages were great (but if this is the only thing you're coming for, you're in the wrong place), had a nice body scrub and scented bath. They gave us a delicious piece of cake for our anniversary and took pictures for us. Again, you're paying for a whole experience, not just a massage and scrub. This was the most amazing and relaxing spa experience I have ever had in my life. The previous reviews describe the sequence and setting well - I'm just piling on. The foot soak and massage (with happy birthday song) was a wonderful way to start. The massage was exquisite - sometimes at my borderline of pressure, but only in a good way, where I needed it; and the masseuse (Ann) was super responsive whenever I asked for a lighter touch. The bath in the in-room soaking tub felt luxurious, with tea, water and birthday cupcakes, and the lavender scrub was just the right pressure. Due To unfortunate circumstances I was alone on my birthday and wanted to treat myself so I tried out Hideko. immediately when I walked in I was greeted at the door by a smiling friendly face and when she found out it was my birthday she gave me a big hug. she walked through my treatment and helped me pick out my scrub (you get to choose your scent) etc. then she led me to the room which was beautiful! I got the most AMAZING foot scrub and massage and body scrub I've ever had. They were so firm and strong but also gentle and soft when needed. She always asked about my comfort level and made sure I was happy and loving it- which I was !! The products are amazing and the ambience is top notch. It's so so peaceful and quiet and relaxing and after wards I walked out to find a piece of cake with a candle! They both gave me a big hug and sat with me.
