Loved this place. The pizza is a hit. Hot. Cheesy. Busy in the best way. The kind of pizza that lands on the table and suddenly everybody gets real quiet because now it is serious. Good crust. Good flavor. Proper pull on the cheese. No gimmicks. Just a pie that knows it is that girl. You can tell this place stays busy, and honestly I get it. The whole spot has that popular-for-a-reason energy. Not fake hype. Not small-town confusion. Real traffic. Real love. A very spacious place. I guess that if you wanted to hide yourself, Hideaway would be a good place to start. I'm here at 5pm on a Monday, and it isn't that busy....yet. Though there were many seating options close to where I entered for the host to seat me, he took me alllll the way to the back corner. By the kitchen. Either he was trying to hide me from incoming customers, or he was trying to cut down on the steps for the server. If I were in his position, I probably would have done the same thing. After driving 700 miles, I may look less than presentable. I can't tell, my eyes are half open. Good thing for you that I stopped for the night. The menu is filled with Italian fare. I opted for the lasagna. That's my go to. I've had plenty of it across the U.S. I'll let you know how this version tastes. They say it's made from scratch. I'm hoping better than Stouffers. Although Stouffers is pretty darn good. It just arrived. That didn't take long at all. Ahhhh!! Piping hot! I think that I'll type a few lines to give it a chance to cool. The sauce is great and the bread crunchy. I'm glad that I got a beer to accompany my meal. It's going to come in handy. I was debating on getting one, as I have room beer back at the hotel. But, when in Rome...ha! I'm eating Italian. How appropriate for that worn idiom. Time to dive in.....it's cool now. Wow! Now, I'm impressed. This plate of lasagna is really good. It even has a slight kick to it. An unexpected pleasure. It won't take me long to finish. Dang! It's really good. For this weary traveller, I wish it were bigger. I better get on with the eating. My server, Kaleb, has stopped by the table 4 times asking if everything is OK. Wait! LoL, make that 5. Since being seated, my section is starting to fill up. That must be why the push is on. Okay, I had such a bad experience! I was bringing my grandchildren to get a nice pizza after school. My older grandchild isn't picky -- he likes regular pizza -- but my little granddaughter only likes plain pizza with sauce. Now, I understand pizza can be a little bland without toppings, but I was expecting more. The server, however, was very nice. She greeted us with a big smile and made us feel very welcome. But when we got our granddaughters plain pizza, it was strangely chewy and crunchy. She got very mad about this so we decided to call the manager over to give her a piece of our mind. She was very polite and she told the servers to get on it quick. The ambience was very nice while we waited nice jazz music and sunny skies outside. I went to Hideaway with people who had been there before. I had high hopes and assumed that it would be good. My assumption was wrong. Lol. Best thing was definitely the pizza but it was a little too greasy on the bottom. Lasagna was well... not up to my standards. I am Italian, a foodie, and I love to cook. This lasagna was really just kind of a bowl full of sauce. I was digging around for noodles. I finally found one, but it certainly wasn't a layered lasagna. The only cheese was on the top. Always a reliable place for good pizza. So many of their specialty pizzas look good but I always end up with the pollinator because it's that good. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. The chicken wings had a lot of potential, plenty big, color looked great but alas underdone. Not raw, cooked through but the skin was still soft and slightly chewy. 45-60 more seconds in the fryer would have delivered the crisp you want on a wing. Wait staff was a little "unusual"... my husband spotted not one, but two of the staff, at two separate times, inspecting the plates for smudges, etc. This is a great practice... but cleaning it off with your bare finger.... Really great service from Ellisa as well as cheerful/helpful attitudes with everybody else we interacted with-food drop off, front desk, ect. Both female bartenders (didn't catch their names) were also very good. I asked loads of questions about the beer on tap as well as some questions about the mixed drinks. Very nice, even if they weren't sure about the answers when I got REALLY specific about some of the beer. They were definitely knowledgeable enough to steer me to a great IPA I really enjoyed. The good: The pepperoni palooza has the most pepperoni. Has ever seen. My favorite was the cup and curl type that get crispy around the edges. Great place to get pizza. The cimarron is made with Alfredo sauce, meatballs, bacon, jalapeños and cheese! It was so good! We had ordered pizza from there before and it was a little soggy so this time I pushed the well done option and it came out perfect! This has been pretty bad. I will say we have been here before and had a better experience. Took 15 minutes after seating for a waitress to notice us. We ordered and had salad delivered. We don't have silverware. I have to go ask someone for a fork. They don't have any. I'm not kidding. Ten minutes later we get a fork. Wings were decent so I gave another star. I've lived in Oklahoma for so long and didn't start eating Hideaway Pizza until two years ago. Shame on me for wasting years of my life by missing out on this delicious Za . The pizzas here are some of the best I've had. The closest I've had to a bad experience (definitely over exaggerating here..) is when they brought me a regular Pepperoni instead of my all-time favorite "The Pollinator". The server was very kind and apologetic and fixed the order right away. I probably just waited an extra 10 mins which wasn't bad at all. The employees are kind and check up on you regularly! Hideaway has amazing pizza! Every one I've tried is packed with toppings and flavor! We started with the 50/50 which has fried mozzarella and fried mushrooms. For our pizza, we had 1/2 an ATW which has pepperoni, onion, bell pepper and onion, and we had 1/2 of Da Bomb with has pepperoni, onion, a basaltic glaze and topped with julienned basil! Stopped by for a to go order of an XL paradise pie. The staff was already in the parking lot when we pulled into the take out spot and they took our name quickly. In less than a minute, our pie was delivered to our car window. Nice service. The paradise pie was decadent and delicious - lots of chicken and bacon and tomatoes and cheese. The only tweak I would make is to the crust itself. It wasn't the best crust in town.
