We were excited about our stay here -- lots of fun common areas for families, right next to Mt Sunapee, and great price for a family room, but we ultimately left frustrated, tired, and disappointed.
Pros:
Great price for size of room
Comfy beds
Nice common rooms areas
Right next to Mt Sunapee
The staff around was very nice and tried to help but seemed overwhelmed (can't blame them)
Got a discount for future stay due to some of our concerns (couldn't move rooms, kids pranking) but still didn't feel sufficient
Cons:
Chaos with kids running around late into night and no real help with limited staff
Curfew of 10pm is ridiculously late especially for folks trying to wake up early to get to mountain
Rooms 104 and 105 are a nightmare across from the kid play rooms -- so loud and tons of screaming. Rooms across from reading nooks might be same
The two text message numbers for staff help/needs were continuously unanswered for both our days. Had to call
When calling, is a farmed out massive switchboard and felt too out of the loop to be very helpful most of the time (follow through from 2 out of 4 calls)
Check-in process didn't show our reservation on kiosk. Calling didn't help a lot. Eventually found a staff person with a computer who was able to check us in with room and code.
Hot water ran out quick
Needs a desk or table space for eating in family rooms
More food/snack/breakfast options for sale
Pool was cold despite being indoors/not heated
Table for public use at front of inn looks like a check-in desk and anyone doing work there is constantly being asked if they're the check-in staff (kept making people leave and try to work in a different areas less conducive to laptops)
Overall: Lots of potential but not ready for primetime. read more
