This will be my 5th year camping there for Jeep Invasion. I think it's important to note that this campground is mostly for resident campers but has limited spots for over nighters and weekend warriors. With that in mind, it's not a party campground. It is great, however, to get good rest for your next day's adventures in the dunes, on the lake, or in the woods! The new restaurant is delicious, & the shower house is clean. It's kid/dog friendly. I like it here over some of the other loud commercial camp grounds. Your experience here really depends on what you want out of a campground. I prefer a good night's sleep, to be ready for the next day adventures of the area, over hearing radios and giggling all night. read more

Went as a guest. Witnessed staff berating a camper over letting their children trick or treat despite it having multiple open to public signs and a sign advertising the event. Will never return. Staff members were extremely rude. read more

First off, I just want to say PLEASE READ ALL reviews before deciding on a camping spot. We did AFTER reserving this place and that was a mistake. Despite the bad reviews, we still decided to give it a try. This place is absolutely horrible! It does't even deserve a 1 STAR!!!Their rules are ridiculous! If your trying to have a good time with family and friends DO NOT consider this place! They have no consideration to privacy what's so ever! They will walk onto your site literally and tell you go to bed. If your trying to sleep in your tent with music or even watching YOuTube, they will shine a light into your tent and tell you to turn it off. If they have given a verbal warning, consider yourself a target. After two verbal warnings, they WILL evict you. They have workers watching you from all around the park. The workers are seasonal members; therefore, you have no idea people are watching you. The speed limit is 5mph in the park, yet they go faster than that on their golf carts. To top it off, their facilities are gross. They do not restock the bathrooms throughout the day at all. They decided to evict our family at 9 o'clock at night. Even though over half of our family and friends left earlier because of how they harassed us at night to go to bed. They waited all day to tell us,right before it was dark. We were originally told we had 20 minutes to get out, but my husband said that's "impossible!" Keep in mind we had our 7 kids, 1 pop up, and 4 tents. He said if we didn't leave, the police would be called for trespassing. Luckily, nobody was drinking because of the harassment we experienced from the previous night. But what would have happened,if we had been drinking? To top it off who tells someone to leave at dark? Why would they wait till 9pm to do that? My husband's credit card was also charged $200.00 with no specific explanation of any fee's. At the bottom of the the eviction letter, it stated there will be a fee imposed for an eviction. But nothing was explained on what the fee was for. We thought they would just keep our deposit. I am pretty sure the campsite was picked up pretty well but keep in mind it was dark when we left. We had to use our headlights on our cars to see anything. But $200.00???? They are profiting on what they think is "Unacceptable noise!" Highway robbery!!!!Not only were we forced to leave a day early, they kept our deposit, plus charged us an eviction fee. We paid for 3 nights but was only there for 2 nights. It ended up costing over $700.00 just for camping with nothing FABULOUS at all! I do not recommend this place! Please do not give them your business!!! We also reported this to the local sheriff. He said it isn't right and that he hears about this all the time, but can't really do anything about it. Just STaY CLEAR of this place people! read more

low end campground. it was my second time this year and absolutely no any upgrades .A lot of people and just little grass. To many seasonal campers and this place looks so trashy. Bathrooms disgusting , mold on walls, pit WC ... Staffs HORRIBLE! To many rules! Find something else! DUMP! read more

I came here for every visit to silver lake. First time called to book which was super easy got a great spot with electrical and water. The spaces are closer in some spots. This past time I came as a walk in day of and got the spot I wanted! Thanks 4th of July being on a Wednesday! =D The best spots are way in the back if you can get them. And from there is a short walk to the rest rooms and showers. Which both are really cleaned twice a day! The prices are reasonable with competitors in the area. Love how friendly and helpful the front desk and other workers are. They have a small restaurant inside the check in area as well. They have a good variety of options to order from. And daily specials are a thing here too! You can also get firewood and ice here and It isn't going to be an obscene price. read more

Terrible. Probably the worst experience I've ever had at a campground. Showers are filthy, unavailable at night and more than half are constantly locked, even during the day. Campsites are bad, uneven and bumpy, bad for tents and vehicles. The people at the check in are nice, but the so-called "security" karen is unhinged. She may actually suffer from clinical psychosis. She approached us multiple times, starting out by yelling and threatening us. She attempted to blackmail us by saying if one person didn't leave, she would kick out all people in all of the groups who knew each other. I cannot believe she is allowed to be a representative of the park. They say only street legal vehicles are allowed, but the seasonal campers drive golf carts around day & night over the posted speed limit, and no lights at night. But even if you're going 5 mph, the karen and the seasonal psychos will scream at you to slow down. I cannot recommend this place at all. Just plain awful. Which is a shame, it has the potential to be really fun. But the owner needs to have some rules for their own employees and the god-complex seasonal crazies. read more

this is the best place ever.it is ao nice and the owner is amazing (dan) it is a very nice place i highly recommend to everyone.

I camp here everytime I visit Silver Lake. Great spot if you're with the guys or with that special someone. Reservations are not really required but may help for holiday weekends. Its not walking distance from town unless you don't mind walking 1.5 miles whenever you need something. They do have a store at the campground but it just has basic camping needs and a small kitchen that cooks a mean breakfast. Price is fair and the regulars are really kind. Showers are clean and modern. Never had a problem staying here. read more

Okay place. Staff really nice... but it's extremely crowed, site space is VERY small, and youre on mud and sand. I will not be going back to this site. read more

I stayed at this place for a weekend and had an awful experience. Avoid it at all costs. The camping area is okay, for a low end campground. Very little grass and you're almost on top of the people around you. There's a lot of nice shade from trees though, which is it's one redeeming feature. The swimming pool is quite nice. The real problem with this place is the staff. It was like visiting North Korea. Lots of random rules enforced without regard for reasonableness or consideration for their customers. It was difficult to know what the rules even were - sometimes multiple contradictory versions were published, and some really important ones weren't published at all. I don't know how they stay in business with staff that treats customers the way they do - maybe it's all first time customers. I'm certainly never going back. read more

We came out for a weekend of buggy riding! Never have been out here an it was our first time a group of 10 of us. I wish I had read reviews before I made the reservations for three sites for three days and paid $500. Quiet time comes early. And quiet does not mean talking quietly around the fire to them...... it means absolutely NO talking at all. At 10:00pm we were told to be quiet. We went to a whisper and that wasn't good enough because at 10:15pm we were told to go to bed and water was put over our fire. I went up to the restrooms and found the man and woman that scolded us hiding behind a truck on their golf cart listening and watching another group of campers at 10:20pm, and on my way out of the restroom, they were also telling them to go to bed and put out their fire too. Seriously..... UNBELIEVABLE! I understand quiet time. Maybe not that early, but definitely not telling us to go to bed before 11:00pm! My brother in law came out of the motorhome to get a bottle of water from the cooler at 4:00am, and was threatened with the Sheriff for coming out of the camper. Will never ever go there again under any circumstances. They were rude about it. And the office staff was so unorganized! They couldn't find any of our reservations. Also, the campsite next to us had nothing but roots and rocks. Very uneven, felt sorry for the people camping in their tents on that site. Only one bathroom site was decent, the rest were nasty. And the people that "live" there for the season have their sites looking so trashy. The pool was nice and they sold ice cream cones. That was the only good things. NOT WORTH IT!!! Oh.... and they removed the other reviews we left and blocked us from saying anything more. read more

I wish you could give this review negative stars because it doesn't even deserve one Staff and owners extremely rude we were harassed for sitting around a fire laughing at night while someone was letting off m-80's. in a near by site. They yelled about kids talking inside their tent when 1:00 came around they came around and the rude staff came and dumped buckets of water on our fire without even asking us to put it out first so we could save the wood for tomorrow then when we asked them why they did that they said we rudely protested and they were calling the cops and we were going to jail honestly who calls the cops on people sitting around a fire quietly talking trying to have a good time and once is while letting out a laugh or two. $130 for two night and got treated like we were in prison camp never coming back. read more

After visiting this campground a few times a season, I became a seasonal camper here. This is a great place to camp, a little off the main commercial area. Short drive to the dunes. I think they do the best they can with what the area is known for. Busy on the weekends and not so busy during the week. I find the pool to be very clean and seeing some of the complaints posted about "too many rules", well, when you get a bunch of groups together with nice and loud 4 wheel drive trucks and other dune ready vehicles, mix in a little alcohol and you still want your campground to be a family friendly place, you have to have rules. Don't want any rules, then you can go find a campground without them and deal with the belligerence, intoxication, vehicle engine revving, and other disorderly activity well into the night. It could use some better wi-fi, but other than that, things are not too bad here read more
