A display of shamrock and other St. Patrick's Day themed chocolates stood in the middle of the store. Todd told us that they custom make just about any shape of chocolate. They will cover wine bottles or other bottles with chocolate for perfect gifts. My brain was calculating what gifts that I need to pick up. I picked out several assorted dark chocolate truffles for an afternoon treat and a large dark bar for evening dessert. (It is important to get chocolate after every meal.) The truffles were divine. The raspberry truffles are the best I've had. My husband liked the amaretto truffle. They also serve a handful of flavors of gelato. I'll return later in the day and report back. I thought prices were reasonable. A small cafe table is inside the store if you want to eat your treats there. There is plenty of parking in the strip mall lot.

Didn't see anyone behind the counter but I ordered off the kiosk, then one of them got up and went behind the counter to make my order, so I guess it was one staff member and her friend. I ordered a build-your-own waffle cup and I wasn't keeping time but I think it took about 20 minutes to make it, which felt like a very long time considering it was just me. I got the waffle cup with a matcha egg waffle, vanilla ice cream, ube sauce, bananas, and pistachios. It was pretty good if kind of unusual - it was very heavy on the thick and creamy ube sauce. It was significantly smaller than I imagined, but that's kind of on me - it is priced appropriately for the size, and they do have the cup sizes on display, so you can see that the 9 oz cup this comes in is not very big. I think it just looked bigger to me in the pictures because the pictures don't really give you a sense of how "mini" the mini egg waffle is. That being said, between the ice cream and the heaviness of the sauce, it was quite rich, so the small cup wasn't actually a bad thing. I like the sound of some of the other stuff on the menu, but I keep finding them closed at random times when they're supposed to be open with no notice.

There was some kind of gutter work going on in this part of the street so parking was limited. Unfortunately, when we came by for ice cream next door on our first day in Louisville the candy shop was already closed for the day. The shop is a small, family-owned business operating since 1921. Inside are displays of handmade candies, delectable treats like Old Fashion Kentucky Bourbons and Muth's Modjeskas as well as unique novelty treats like horseshoe shaped chocolates. I was the first customer and I already knew what I wanted. The chocolates were already pre-packaged, I chose a bag each of the milk peanut clusters and milk chocolate raisin clusters... they were fresh and so delicious!
