It's a wonderfully peaceful park near sunset, with the sun streaming through the trees every view is something to behold.

Not much of a much. Maybe it is being rebuilt? But there is a small building with bathrooms and what looks like it will be a nature center, and tons of trails up and down the hills. Surrounded by development, but fairly quiet, at least on an early spring weekday afternoon. Saved because of its creeks and hills and gullies, surely. Lots of shale outcrops, some decent elevation changes, well-developed paths mixed with more basic ones, decent parking. Far from our usual routes, but worth a detour.

The parking lot is good sized and offers some EV charging stations.

This is a really neat park that nicely bridges natural and active areas. There's a great view of…read moreseveral ponds that are full of birds and surrounded by some bird houses. It's really relaxing to watch the water and wildlife from the bridges. There are several athletic fields, including some very nice baseball diamonds, and a shelterhouse with restrooms. The playground is located near the ponds and is extremely cool! It is nicely worked into the landscape, taking advantage of varying heights with a lot of neat ways to get up and down to the various levels, from boulders to jump on, giant stone steps to take, slides, stumps to step on, and the like. There is a great zip line that kids can easily work themselves, and it really picks up some great speed. There are climbing walls, nets, and musical elements. It looks like there is a really nice water play area during the warmer months - it has a nice flow down the hill, over rocks, under logs, and ending in a sand area. We definitely want to come back again when it's warm to check that out. A paved multi-use trail is also available. We really enjoyed this park!

The Columbus Metro Park system in general is quite good - all the parks we've been to are well maintained. Meeting spaces and picnic areas are convenient to parking.... From trails to playgrounds to restrooms they are all in good condition. The High Banks Park is very popular (many Columbus people drive across the city to come here) so especially on weekends finding parking can be a challenge. Plan way ahead if you want to get a picnic spot (shelter houses are by reservation most of the time). Kudos to Columbus for investing in the area's green spaces!

We…read moreloved how there were trails, paved pathways, small parks, and play areas for children all in one place. It was beautiful and very unexpectedly large. You could easily spend an entire day here walking multiple trails. We would recommend bringing water because we did not see water fountains or stations, and some stretches of trail were quite long. We would also recommend exploring and seeing what you find. We found a fun area with wooden exercise and play equipment. We spent about 30 minutes playing with all of the pieces. It was so much fun and we are already planning our next trip back!

The drive to Delaware State Park is just under an hour from where we live in Columbus. This makes…read moreDSP a great spot if we want to go camping but want to spend more time at the state park than we do driving to get there. In addition to the full length Disc golf course that DSP has there is also a practice course. The practice course is adjacent to the campground office, to the right of the dog park area. The campground store, while small, seems well stocked with the standard things you might forget. Check out the shirts! Each Ohio State Parks has different t-shirts and Delaware SP seems to update theirs with relative frequency. We've camped a handful of times at DSP, usually in the same loop. Seems like a fair amount of the sites have low areas, it's a good idea to check out loops before booking a campsite with that in mind. Camping with an RV? The dump & fresh water fill has two lanes. There can still be a backup at times of folks waiting to dump or fill but the line moves relatively quickly. Bonus: there's a Kroger not too far from DSP.

Personally, my wife and I are at the age that we don't use the park very often. However, when our grandkids were here this past weekend, they wanted to go to "that nice park" you took us to last time we were here (over a year ago). Millstone Creek Park offers a little of everything. Nice assortment of playground equipment; accessible; a variety of activities; sports fields; nature/wetlands area; picnic shelter and restrooms. Plenty of parking. My only suggestion for improvement would be the addition of a few more benches for the grandparents who bring their grandkids to the park.

That was fortunate for us, since we visited during the off-season for the splash pad (which looks fun, it's just turned off right now!) There is a huge playset area: traditional, baby, and adaptive swings, a cool slide that comes out of a fossil dino jaw, a variety of slides and climbing options, tunnels, games like 3 in a row, and a boat that you can get to rock back and forth. There is a very nice set up of shelters, restrooms, picnic tables, and benches. If you cross over to the wooded section, you can reach a nature trail in the Wooded Wetland Preserve that surrounds the pond. There are boardwalks, observation decks, and a swing to enjoy the lovely view. This is a wonderful park, even when the splash pad isn't operating!

We reserved one of the full hookup sites online and stayed at the end of September 2025. The online…read morereservation site has all the details on lot size, electricity info, distance to showers, etc. However, it's limited in showing different dates, which is frustrating. Anyway, the check-in time is 3pm and check-out is 1pm. We paid fifty-three dollars per night for two adults and one dog, with a six fifty reservation charge. Check-in was easy, and the attendant was helpful; you just drive up to the office, check-in and go on your way. The layout is similar to a subdivision with cul-de-sacs and each spot having its own little yard, making it feel somewhat like camping in the woods. Our neighbors were quiet and most vehicles drove slowly. Everyone we met was pleasant and friendly. The camp itself was clean and easy to hook up. Bathrooms and showers were clean and there was plenty of toilet paper. Large trash bins were available along with gray water stations. The only thing I'd suggest is for the site identifiers to be repainted, as several had faded over time. We visited the beach, but didn't go swimming, given the temperature. The pond is catch and release and seemed maintained and not stagnant. The budget limitations need to be considered before passing judgment. We used bug spray every day and that seemed to help keep the bugs away. The site we booked had a level surface and plenty of room to back in. The water and electrical were easily accessible and worked fine. A lot of campers used an inline water filter. The water quality report is on the park website for anyone interested. The grass was well trodden, making a camp rug a must-have. There was also a fire pit with a grill attached, but we didn't use it to cook. Also, at the time, there wasn't a burn ban. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and we'll definitely return. It was fun to walk down the aisles and see all the setups and decorations and note future camp site options. How many campers are long-timers, it's hard to tell. But we were pleased and our dog loved exploring on our walks.
