Everything you need to turn your lousy contemporary living space into a rustic country dwelling can be found up in here! Be sure to give yourself ample time to browse the wares on display as they have multiple buildings onsite chock full of legit antiques, one of them a log cabin!
Turned down the country road leading to this place not knowing what to expect and missed the entrance at first because the "store" is tucked away almost behind a farmhouse that looks like every other property along this route. Began to doubt what we'd find following the signs down the winding gravel driveway to a small warehouse in a pasture, but the row of old time-y looking stadium seats outside one of the auxiliary buildings seemed to bode well. Inside the main space, loads of patina'd relics and hulking wooden furniture punctuated by a hoard of old tools, knick-knacks 'n things almost teeter, piled high, as if pleasingly teasing your eyes (and knowingly mocking any previously determined intentions you may have held re: spending just a few minutes checking this place out).
Pressed for time, I got away with a sweet set of glassware and a wooden bucket, not that I didn't covet a ruddy old pie safe, a gorgeous yoke-mirror, a rum-colored wooden bar, and a half dozen quilts, lanterns and an enormous buttermilk dispenser in the process. I look forward to allowing for more time and funds, and not missing the turnoff, the next time I make it out this way. read more
