Nice little gift shop filled with so many items at every turn and nook and cranny!! You never know what you'll find next. Jams, pickles, soaps, trinkets, hand stitched items. Really I could go on and on listing it all. The pictures I took will give you a little bit of an idea of the diversity this little shop holds. Whether you're just there browsing or looking for a gift it'll be hard to walk out of here empty handed because the items are so unique. Prices are relatively affordable too - so even better! The shop owner is very friendly, but lets people browse as long as they want without intruding. Next time you're in the area it's a great little place to pay a visit to.

Cute store with an old country vibe! I walked in and wanted to look at everything they had to offer. I loved visiting this store and can't wait to return, definitely recommend that you check it out!

Holy Americana! Furnishings and accessories for the cozy country home. The entire store smells like apple cobbler, so it was hard to concentrate. Candles, knicknacks, cottage style furniture and accessories, as near as I could tell, everything was new but made to look weathered. Area rugs, country/rustic themed artwork, it's all here. They won Country Business Magazine Retailer of the Year, which is a national honor. It's as soothing as a trip to Grandma's house and worth a trip tp Apex.

This general store in downtown Apex offers beautiful handmade farm tables and other decor, and a kitchen redesigning service. Lots of eclectic farmhouse themed things here, both vintage and new. It's a fun place to browse through and get home decorating ideas from. I'll be visiting here again.

Many of my Halloween decorations came from Rusty Bucket.

Locale: On the edge…read moreof commercial sector of old downtown Pittsboro in the intersection between Hillsboro and Salisbury Street, there is a corner store that focuses on antique/vintage furniture and decorative arts peppered with a few current items. The store's ethos focuses on sustainability, but not just for the sake of selling "old things" but rather as a replacement for "new things" and to prevent such items from accumulating in a landfill as they clean and repair (when needed) items before setting them on display. As you walk toward the store you are greeted with a welcoming blue-green colored sign, announcing that you have arrived at your destination. Ambiance: On a hot and sunny summer day, it is very nice to be hit with a wall of cool air as you walk through the door and begin to browse. Not too cold, but just right. Don't you just hate walking into a freezer when you're dressed for the beach? Don't worry about that here. Unlike many antique/vintage goods stores, this one has plenty of room to walk without bumping into other people or items. Also unlike many similar businesses, the items are displayed very neatly and with thought. For example, a 1930s vanity and a Victorian armoire were appropriately staged with accessories that would have been used originally. This helps design-challenged people with ideas on how to personalize the item after purchase. In the Bag: The assortment of items runs the gamut from Victorian pieces to a more contemporary selection, although the bulk of the items are early 20th century to most of the "younger" pieces being more than 30 years old. There were also some Mid-Century modern pieces like the patio set, and the dinette. Additionally there were some items that harken back to the time when North Carolina was mostly an agricultural state and these items provide a first-hand glimpse at how life was at that time, such as the vintage enamel chamber pot. On the back wall there is a selection of vintage housewares, and collectable glasses. Behind the cash register is a doorway that leads to a stock room that is filled with merchandise, likely not accessible to the public. So although the sales floor has somewhat fewer items than many similar stores, because the layout was thoughtfully planned, there is plenty of backup merchandise in the case where many items are sold at once. Considerations: This store provides its clientele with unique and vintage items that you can actually use in your home. The selection feels curated and gives the impression that the store owner has given consideration to the selection and presentation, which gives this place a polished and professional feel. The prices are quite good, so you can expect items to be priced well lower than new items (in "normal" non-high end stores) albeit with the better build-quality that cannot be accessibly found today. If you can, I highly recommend this place to do furniture shopping. You may find something here that you will like, and you will be helping the environment by keeping vintage furniture out of landfills.

Although exploration is probably a good enough reason to visit a store like this, I found myself here while a few of the artists with works displayed were having a conversation about their work, the setup and displays. That was a pretty eye-opening experience: they're just like everyone else. Who'd have thought? For the detail and work involved in some of this work, the prices were consistent with the area. It's about a 40 minute drive from downtown Raleigh NC without traffic, but only 25 minutes from Chapel Hill or downtown Apex, NC. Any direction you drive to Pittsboro from you cross beautiful country side, forests, hills and rivers, and coming from the East, (Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, Fuquay Varina), you're in real luck, you get to cross over Jordan Lake twice. Pittsboro retains its small town USA feel, and the Joyful Jewel is just across the street from the historic Chatham County Courthouse which houses a historical museum open 2 - 3 times a week. But the Joyful Jewel is open 7 days a week. I have visited hundreds of times over the 12 years I have been living in central North Carolina because I so enjoy walking about the store, as if it were a museum, and taking in the colors, imagination, creativity and inspiration. Artists take turns in the store, so you get to meet an artist whose work is there. Mariah Wheeler is the owner, with her husband DG Chandler. Both are jewelers, but work in other forms as well. The affordability of art and fine crafts is one of the best discoveries for me, making a visit to the Joyful Jewel even better than a museum, since I may be able to take home the piece of art that really speaks to me. And if you're looking to learn more about local artists, Mariah is very well connected, not only to artist who paint, and potters, and glass artists, but also local writers, poets and musicians. Discover Pittsboro and definitely visit the Joyful Jewel.

My husband specifically requested this to be a surprise for Valentine's Day, yet I received multiple phone calls and a voicemail beforehand asking if someone would be available to accept the delivery. The flowers were being delivered to a place of business, which should have made that obvious from the address. While the product was excellent, the handling of the delivery took away from what was meant to be a special surprise. I hope this feedback helps improve the delivery experience, because the floral design itself was truly lovely.

BEWARE: I ordered flowers on blossomflowerdelivery.com and it's a scam company. DO NOT ORDER from this company, they stole the name of this local flower company and deliver a really cheap flower arrangement. I paid over $70 for a Christmas Center Piece and they delivered a centerpiece that looked to be about $20 and said they had to substitute flowers because of flowers being out of season, which is part of their scam. You can see the flowers I ordered off the internet and what was actually delivered, super embarrassing. Also, when I tried to contact the company, I was on hold and then got disconnected, not surprised.
