Was here in 2020 & it was fair. 2026 We heard it's under new ownership so thought we'd give another try. Well, I will not be back. 1-price: UPPER end of the scale compared to others. 2-rickety shower house. 3-sites: some were in good locations some were with not much grass. Permanents. Out of cpl hundred there were like 4 I would consider owning. Everything was just run down. Mini golf had part taped off, looked like crime scene tape. Tape was old so been like that for a bit. read more

Hickory Hills is quickly becoming our family's favorite spot to go to post school being out. This year we stayed at PM2 and it was amazing!!! The staff was extremely kind and accommodating to us. We were able to bring our pup with us and our kids LOVED their space. Also the plants inside were a perfect addition! I LOVED all the plants and it made me feel like I was home! This used to be my "Happy Place" and I truly enjoyed being a seasonal there for a few years and unfortunately that all changed due to the poor business practices of the female owner. This campground terminated our 2025 seasonal contract for "irreconcilable differences" when I questioned the 2024 electric charges on our invoice. This campground breached their own contract on how electric would be charged to seasonals and also the WIFI that was never installed that we paid for in 2024, did not send out any communication or an addendum and just added electricity which was not fair due to the way it was metered. Seasonals were metered at different times, even months apart, and everyone was charged a meter fee for 6 months even though most seasonals weren't metered for that long. When I received the email that we were terminated I tried everything to find out why but got nothing, all I was told was irreconcilable differences. Come to find out that the owners had told and have been telling their staff and other seasonals that I was "cruel" in my emails. Yes I was frustrated but never cruel. The invoices even say to call or contact them with questions and that was what I did but never received explanation, just a termination. I could go on and on about the constant mistakes and hypocrisy this campground has shown and it would justify why seasonals get so upset! The lack of communication is HUGE! read more

Two stars is for the beautiful ass trees, nature, etc. The rest of the camp is meh. The office area is super up to date and clean and nice. Everything else has not been touched since the summer of 1867. I wish I would have taken pics of the "mini golf" because it is so weeded over, dirty, ripped up, roots that have grown have made it so bumpy and uneven that Tiger Woods wouldn't even be able to manage getting the ball into the hole. The other attraction was broken and shut down. They have a blob to jump on, a pickle ball court, and a pool that's ice cold. They do offer golf carts for a $100 deposit plus another $100 PER DAY (non refundable). I wouldn't come here again. I think it's okay for families who have small kids who aren't old enough to notice how poorly kept it is. We tent camped so it was cheap which is a plus. Some people who we camped with said the bathrooms were nice so...there's that. The floating obstacle course was super cool but not cool enough where I'd come back. There's other places that offer floating obstacle courses in addition to other entertainment. read more

I bought a seasonal trailer from an existing seasonal camper. The lot fee was paid in full until end of season. The female owner still charged me lot fees of $2400 for 2 and half months left of the season with included $200 for internet that is still not existent ! Paid $2200 in October for first half of 2025 season. Bought a new trailer in May and was told nobody was allowed in campground to do anything. I had to remove deck so General rv could come get the old trailer. The trailer sat that for weeks as General rv was getting pissed that they couldn't get their property !!!!!. So when campground opened i told female owner I'm not coming back because they wouldn't let me in to do what I had to do. I then told her , you owe me $2900.00 and also told her, don't let this get ugly !!! I was told their wouldn't be any refunds. My site is paid up to June 18th. Guess what ??? Second year in a row we have come for the first week of July. So many activities for the kids, events at the patio in the weekends. So nice, quiet and peaceful. Just left today and already looking for to next summer. The staff is incredible, so friendly, kind, helpful, and fun. read more

The disorganized system of check-in was unbelievable to start with. It took forever. I had to pay $5 for my car to park for the weekend. They put the wrong site and end date on the pass. But the problems really started with our campsites. The permanent site behind us had loud music going on his golf cart until 11 pm. He was riding around blaring the music. He had the tow truck golf cart and would turn the music up so loud as he drove around. We went to the pool and the pool was full of adults drinking in the pool. People were smoking around the pool and eating food in the pool as well. The guy with the tow truck golf cart brought a blender to the pool and was making alcoholic drinks poolside. OK I guess if you don't have kids down there. The seasonal campers act like they own the place and do what they please. The golf carts are flying down the roads and make it almost unsafe for people to walk on the roads. We have been here several times and brought other family members this time. Each time gets worse. We used to love it here and after this last trip we won't be back. Our family members said they will never camp here again either. It's sad. I hope your permanent sites are enough to keep you going. read more

I was so impressed with this rural campgrounds near Edgerton WI. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I loved the delivery of firewood right to my campsite and staff willing to hold my dog's leash while I went in the office for coffee. This campground is really spread out so lots of campsites, but it didn't feel crowded or too busy. Lots to do for kids and families and many fun organized events. Staff even made sure we knew where the shelters were in case of bad weather on a rainy and stormy weekend. I would definitely camp there again! read more

Spent the weekend at the campground. Had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Personality, campground director Karen. She came complaining the we had music playing. It was 10 o'clock and quiet time doesn't start until 11pm. She told us that we needed to turn the music off because there are traveling nurses staying at the campground, how did this become my problem. We sat and just chilled not playing the music loud. She was this rude, skinny trollish looking lady. Beware if she comes to talk to you, she's not pleasant. read more

We were impressed with the tranquil, very quiet, and secluded location of this campground. I'd only recommend it for a summer visit. Its located in the center of farm land, and not near any city life whatsoever. The camp ground is located adjacent to a big lake with a beach and the Campground has lots of things to do, to keep the young kids occupied. There's a FREE 18 hole mini golf course (which is open until 8pm summer time) that has lots of animated and colorful animal characters on it. The golf clubs and golf balls were given to us for free by the girl at the front desk. And it also has nearby pool that is kept clean. The clean bathrooms on the other hand have a problem with mosquito's but what can you expect from being in the middle of no where in Wisconsin??? You have to pay 25 cents for a 5 minute shower, the first 4 minutes has cold water and then hot water comes out, so be prepared to spend at least 50 cents for a 10 minute shower, which will also give you the privilege of spending some quality company time with mosquito's of all sizes. Bring quarters for showers. Bring mosquito repellent if you plan on being outdoors in the evening. Its definately a must. The campground is not lite up too well at night time, so bring a flashlight if you plan on walking around the campground at night time. The pretty girl at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Overall our experience with this campground was satisfactory. I did feel that the $55 fee for full hook up and four people without cable and without fire pits at the RV site we stayed at was a little high though. I've been attempting to make a reservation for the 2021 season for the better part of 12 months. That's one full year. We've never spoken. Never met. I've "heard" good things from folks that decided NOT to stay there. I'm literally in a Facebook chat with them while writing this review in attempts to make a reservation. Their voicemails says "leave a message and we'll call you back!" which is a joke. They don't check their voicemail as far as anyone can tell. So, I reached out through their FB page. The conversation goes like this. Me: "Can I make a reservation?" HHC: "We open May first what day are you looking at" Me: [ details on our intended dates, size of rig, preferred amenities ] (long pause no response) Me: "If you're able to provide me with a list of available spots I can look at the map. Also, just a heads up, your voicemail message asks folks to leave a reservation request for the upcoming season. (I've left a few messages)" HHC: "Sorry for any confusion, we are out of the office until next Wednesday and our call forwarding isn't working right. We will touch base with you Wednesday if that works." (They've been out of the office until Wednesday for a year now it would seem) HHC: "At that time we will be at the computer and be able to get you an accurate list of what's open. Thank you!" Me, a day AFTER they said they'd reach out: "You were going to call us. Please do at [phone number] asap so that we can get this done." Long pause without an answer. Me: "So, how's it goin' there? Can we get booked or what?" This business appears to be mismanaged, impossible to reach and ignorant of how full-timers make their arrangements. Our advice: Do not engage as you can't rely on them. read more

My Parents have been seasonal campers there for about 30 years now. My mom asked me to write this review for her, as there's no reliable cell service/WiFi service within the park. Below is her review: "don't come here if you want reliable water service. Our water keeps being shut off. There are many excuses as to why, but no resolution. Vanessa, the manager is very unpleasant and rude. She doesn't know how to deal diplomatically with people. I wouldn't recommend camping here because the park isn't ready. I can not say enough amazing things about this campground! My husband went here as a child and we have been bringing our children since they were toddlers. It recently went under new management and I can not believe the difference in just a short amount of time! There is soooo much to do! My friend and I decided to venture out with the kiddos for a mom/kid weekend and it is officially becoming a yearly trip for us! We were able to sit in the courtyard and relax while the kids played on the jumpy and mini golf and try all the games they had to offer. The park is so fun for them because it's classic and they haven't seen some of the things in their own park i.e. teeter totters, the spin thing. The coffee with a scoop of ice cream is definitely a fav! They had fresh baked cookies for the kids and they genuinely seemed happy to see them so excited and happy. Everyone in the store/office are so sweet and I could talk to them for hours. The owner could not have been kinder to us, she went out of her way to show us a map and circle available cottages when I asked about property for sale. It was cold so we couldn't use the lake or pool but both are amazing! We will definitely need to add a day if we come in the summer just to fit everything in. If you are looking for a modern campground with a touch of old school feelings and service this is definitely a place for you! read more

My family will never come back to this campground. $70 a night for water and electric sites and they don't bother to tell you the water is not safe to drink or cook with. A warning on page 2 of the papers they hand you at check in. High nitrates in their water that can KILL Infants under 6 months, Thank God we saw the warning before giving the water to my grand baby! Saturday we go to the pool to swim and it was closed due to cloudy water. It was closed all day. Warning at the beach to not swim due to blue algea. Emailed manager and received zero response. I love this campground! I've been here three times, and each time, I had a lot of fun. I like camping, but I'm not exactly into "roughing it", so this was perfect for me. There's a pool, boat rentals, and a mini golf course. I remember thinking the rates were kind of high, but I guess that's compared with a state park, which doesn't have any amenities. read more

SHORT STORY : The manager I spoke to was rude, a liar, very passive aggressive, and should never* talk to customers the way she did to me and my family under any circumstances. I will never come back or recommend this campground to anybody. This was a terrible experience and a waste of a beautiful weekend. Thanks Vanessa. LONG STORY : Let me explain why the manager I spoke with was so horrible. First things first, my arrival. On the first day my family arrived to the campground and we were pleasantly pleased with everything. Good activities, good people, overall a good first day. The second day, we rented a golf cart. In order to rent one, you must sign a contract and agree to all the rules (as it should be). So, at 9am, we got it and took a tour of the campsite. The day went on, blah blah, skip all the way to 10:41 pm. Myself (young adult) and my little** cousin had to use the restroom so I drove us over there to do so. A few minutes went by, me and her exit the woman's restroom and I start to put the cart into drive. Barely going anywhere, I hear a woman yelling "STOP"! Confused I slow down but keep going. As I am driving i look to my right and see another golf cart heading right into mine. Basically pulling infront of my moving* cart, an older woman says very very sternly and rudely, "stop right now". There was a man driving and the woman was in the passenger side. Still unaware what was happening I look at the woman surprised. (She was about 50ish y/o, I believe her name was Vanessa). She then accuses me of speeding around her campsite at fast speeds and basically being irresponsible. Still confused I told her I did not do any of those things and I was simply using the restroom. She proceeded to ask me my age (18) and did not believe I was of age, and then DEMANDED to see my ID. I did not have it on me and she proceeded to yell at me. Keep in mind she thinks I am underage, obviously with a smaller child, yelling at night, not even asking about my parents. Red flag right? If I was underage... yikes, who does that? Anyways, I start to get annoyed as she kept raising her voice in a rude manner as she was accusing me of things I did not do. Not only was she doing this, she started to lie. Bad, stupid, pointless lies. She aggressively told me to return to my campsite because it was "past curfew" for the carts to be out. I am pretty sure she did not think I would know the rules/curfew times so she wanted to take advantage of that. I told her politely* it did not have to be at the site until 11pm. We had to use the restroom and there was still about 15 minutes left. She didn't care and said its close enough. Like, what? After that I was upset and wanted to leave the conversation so I just went along with what she said hoping she would leave us alone. But don't worry, theres more folks. She threatened to keep the $100 security deposit if I received one more complaint and there would be security patrolling around my site. She should not be telling me this if she thinks i am under 18 and should be talking to my parents!! Who does that!! The man in the cart was silent the whole time up until it was over, and he said have a good night. Nice man, horrible woman. This happened in a matter of 5 long minutes. This is prior what happened before my parents got involved. I don't need to say anymore, this small incident should speak plenty. Trust me, she only got worse. More lies, more unnecessary rudeness, and overall pure bitchyness. I hope the owners see this and take action. I would have loved to come back but she ruined it for everyone. I would never recommend this campground to my friends/family. We stayed here on a weekend and rented the Merriewood Cottage for more than the price of a hotel, and I had to sweep up dead bugs, etc off of the floor before I would bring anything inside. The cottage states the beds are queen sized, but they are double beds. The clincher was the mouse we saw running across the fireplace on our last night, making it extremely difficult to actually sleep there. I attempted to remedy it with the owners, but did not get a response from them...which was really disappointing! It's obvious the seasonal campers are more important to these owners than anyone who wants to just stay for a weekend. read more

I would like to provide feedback on Vanessa your site manager. If I could rate lower I would. It started by them not having my name on file for the site I booked yet had a receipt attached to someone else's paperwork that had the last four of my card number. Once they figured that out, the first day seemed good until Venessa stopped and yelled at a family member who drove our aunt to their site and returned back to his site at 11:03 (cut off time is 11:00). The next day, she took the golf cart that was being driven by a cousin, the golf cart renters son and his friend because she said "they were going too fast and it will suck up all of their gas." Leaving them to walk back. Not one time did anyone get any form of warning. When the parents/renter found out they went up there to talk to her. She was not there when they got up there so she was called on the walkie talkie. When she arrived she immediately jumped out of the cart and came at them with a stance like she was ready to fight. She yelled about it mainly was because of the man driving the cart at "11:45" which was really 11:03 pm the night before. She then told them that they need to leave and never come back. They told her they have had a couple beers at that time and she could not expect them to drive their family home after have a couple drinks. She continued to say they had to and that she was calling the sheriff. They came back to their site and about 40 minutes later the sheriffs arrive in two cars (3 cops). They question the family on the allegations made by Venessa claiming the family made threats, drove the golf cart on the beach, and said that they were given warnings, all of which NEVER HAPPENED. The cops ended it by saying that it was just a he said she said complaint and to just stay away from each other and leave in the morning. The cops leave and about 20 minutes later she parked her car shining her lights directly at their site (see attached video). My sister in law and I, that were not involved in any of this decided to walk to the bathrooms and see if it was in fact her. When we got by the vehicle she barked at us saying, "what are you doing?" We said, "walking to the bathroom." She replied that it is quite time and we are not allowed to leave the site. All I could think is Not even use the bathroom?????? Not to mention they will not empty your tank unless you have a permanent site. This is harassment and is the opposite of what the police instructed. This is absolutely unacceptable. This lady is a BITCH and is going to drive people away from camping there. I hope that this at the very least encourages you to keep an eye on your reviews because I am sure that if she continues to treat your customers like this it will end up impacting your business. At this point i would not only not recommend this place i would tell people to avoid it. Even the cop that questioned the mother said he would not bring his family there. read more

Let me just start by saying I grew up here! My family and I have been going here since I was 10. My parents have a seasonal Site there and we'd spend all of our free time there. Through the years, my husband and I would make an effort to come up with our children and camp, especially for Labor Day and Christmas in July. They'd always have activities for the kids, contests, bands up at the lodge, etc. we always had a wonderful time! This place was always booked. You'd have to book the campsite sometimes up to a year in advance for Christmas in July. This year, we came up for Christmas in July and we were so incredibly shocked at the condition of this campground. The whole place is run down! The bathrooms smell of mold and mildew. The sinks weren't cleaned regularly, lights were out. The showers (that you have to pay to use) had mold growing on the curtains, spider webs are over head as you take your shower. Silverfish were all over the walls of the shower stall. There was NO hot water. I waited 10 minutes for my shower to warm up and just gave up. The playground is nothing but weeds, it looked as though they hadn't mowed all season. The little activities that they had planned for the weekend we're canceled for some unknown reason, leaving my kids incredibly disappointed. The pool is run down and dirty, the pump wasn't even working on the busiest and hottest day of the weekend. After 26 years of loyalty, I'm sad to say that I will NEVER be coming back! We expressed our concerns at the front office, mentioned all of the above and all we got was "sorry, we'll try to improve". We spent $42.00 a night to stay here, plus tax. For a few bucks more, we could have stayed at a Yogi Bear park complete with activities for our children, HEATED, CLEAN pools with working pumps & clean bathrooms with FREE showers. It doesn't take a genius to figure out why the park is a virtual ghost town lately....I guess the staff and the owners here don't mind that they have lost the business of loyal customers. You can guess where we'll be happily staying on Labor Day weekend. read more

If you are a tent camper looking for a relaxing weekend this is not your place. Lots of RVs and "seasonal campers" in motor homes. Most of the seasonal campers have golf carts and they use them day and night. The 11PM quiet hour is not adhered to and our family had difficulty falling asleep with the late night parties and the golf carts going by until 2AM. The seasonal campers kind of run the place. The tent campsites are VERY small. We had 3 families with 3 adjoining campsites so it was workable but it would have been tough on our own. The bathroom facilities are decent and the pool was clean but simple. We did not expect a pool for camping so it was a bonus. The beach area is small for the number of people in the campground but it was clean and had a nice dock. We made the best of it but will not be returning. read more

If you are looking for a family friendly campground this is the place. There are seasonal sites but also very nice weeklong or weekend sites. They have the standard two night minimum but for $45 per night plus tax it's easy to camp for two days. They have someone who cleans the bathrooms multiple times each day and even more so on holiday weekends. In general, they stay clean and fresh. Some of the weekends there are bands at the lodge or other activities to participate in. They have a pool that is open from memorial day to Labor Day. There is also a nice beach with lake front to swim in if you would like. You can rent a rowboat or a canoe if you want to fish further off the shore or just enjoy a relaxing boat ride. You can Play mini golf for three dollars per person. I have always enjoyed my time spent here. read more

We stayed at this campground for the Thresheree this year. It's close enough to keep the drive shirt and usually available. The site was small, but clean. There was no fire ring, only a depression in the ground. The camp store was poorly stocked and the firewood was damp. There was a fine party on Saturday, complete with DJ and game night,and dunk tank. The pool was C.O.L.D! The showers were clean but in poor repair. It's expensive The place is, for the most part a seasonal campground, and the best thing about it are the people that use it as such. We left a grate at home, and one kind soul lent us theirs. We watched another help jumpstart a family whose camper refused to start. Those people, and the rest of the people there lift this campground up from a poor rating to average. read more

I have never actually been to Hickory Hills nor will I ever go there after being ripped off by them on a pre pay. We had made Holiday reservations for two campsites and were told since it was a Holiday it was pre pay with a 14 day cancelation policy. That was fine so we paid by credit card. About 3 weeks before the arrival date we were not going to be able to make it so I called to cancel, after a few days of nothing back on the card I phoned again and was told they didn't have me down as a cancel so they did it again. Well to make a long story short after about a dozen phone calls and being told everything from they sent a check (which I never received) and credits to my credit card(which I have yet to receive) Discover said they will remove it from our card. Thankfully the credit cards are a way of not being ripped off by non trustworthy companys. read more

This place is a shell of what it used to be. The roofs are all but falling off, the toilets wobble and leak. The lights in the mens room all didnt work so you have to do your business in the dark. The showers are coin operated and you have to waste minutes waiting for hot water. The 110 electric is it or miss. If your looking for a run down discount campground this is the place. Its a shame the owners dont reinvest in the property. read more

After a snafu with double booking our cabin -leaving us with no cabin and carful of camping gear but no tent- hickory hills made it right by finding us accommodations at a nearby campground, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and turned a bad situation into a great weekend. My husband who is disabled and twin four-year old grandkids were here for a long weekend. We were assigned Green Acres, which is a really long way from the pool, mini golf, etc. I drove them to the pool area to take a dip on a 90 degree day. I was advised that I was not allowed to park a car anywhere on the campgrounds except my site. It was out of the way, not on the road, etc. By the way, there were no golf carts to rent. So, we left because there was no way my handicapped husband and twins were going to be able to swim, golf, etc. I was not about to drop them off and drive back to the site and then walk the 1/4 mi to the festivities and then do it all over again when they were thru - this place is not handicapped friendly - what a disappointment. Seems like a nice place. Old and wooded with dirt trails barely large enough to maneuver a 25 ft trailer. Sawhorses blocked roads randomly, making it impossible to reach the assigned site. I spent 45 minutes driving in circles, moved some barriers or waiting for someone to move barricades. Very friendly desk person knew nothing of why and tried for more than an hour to phone the boss, who never responded. After almost 2 hours, I left. I gave 2 stars since it seems something may have confused the staff, though the manager should have been available. read more

The owner and people that work here are nice but the culture of camping is ridiculous. There were multiple drunk and disorderly campsites around us. This tells me it is allowed here, which is fine, but not what my family prefers. The sites are SMALL and full of dirt rather than grass. The bathrooms are run down and need to be redone. There are also children driving golf carts all over the place not paying attention. Our family was up several nights with LOUD campers near us. For $40 plus dollars a night (that they want paid in full 6 months before) it is just not worth it. No garbage pick up, no activities, horrible playground that is in need of repair. A pool that needs repair and a game room almost no games that work. The campsites are packed in so tightly that you better know the people next to you, or you will get to know them well by the end of the weekend (insert sarcasm). I know the owner is working to improve but I will be camping elsewhere in the future. read more

We drove 2 hours to stay here for Memorial Day weekend. What a terrible choice! First of all, the sites are so confusing as to how they are set up. There are no fire pits, which are usually a pretty good guide as to where you should be. Also, the sites are practically all dirt...not much grass to be found. All weekend our power kept going out because evidently their electrical isn't setup to handle the number of sites that they have. The temperature was in the 90s all weekend, so we couldn't even leave the dogs in the campers for very long to go to the pool, for fear that the a/c would turn off. We minimized our usage to only the a/c, and even then it was set on low, or just fan. We didn't use lights, or the radio, or anything. We did complain once right away, and they told one person in the party that they'd call him when they had looked at it, but he never received a call. I went to the office to complain, and ask them that they credit us something for the trouble, and/or at the very least, ask the campers around us to minimize their electrical usage as well. The whole rest of the weekend, everyone around us still used their indoor and outdoor fridges, bug zappers, fans, radios, etc. The pool was filled with debris from the trees that I don't think they ever bothered to clean out. The one day we were there at 10:00, which is when the pool was supposed to open. We had to wait because they were "cleaning it". I don't think it was cleaned the entire weekend. The playground equipment is old and should be replaced, and for $45 a night, I would have thought the rundown mini golf course would have been a free option for the kids. All of the seasonal sites (which is the good majority of the campground) have golf carts that they use to get around. They let them drive them around while drinking, there are very young kids driving them around, and they have zero regard for other traffic on the narrow roads. It was nice that they had a good selection of ice cream, but even that is overpriced, and they charged me more than what the menu said. The food is housed in a building with zero ventilation, so the worship services and the area where the band played were ridiculously hot! We made the most of it, because obviously we paid to stay, but this place was terrible! read more
