The inside was very modern with a decent sized dining area and sushi counter. Their menu is very large with a wide variety of appetizer, sushi, ramen, and hibachi choices. They were also doing a $22 Sunday Special which had a huge portion! The service to start was a bit scattered and we felt a bit pressured to ordered immediately. As time went on, things improved. Our group ended up ordering the Fried Calamari (a bit small of a portion) & Gyoza appetizers which were thoroughly liked by the group. For mains, we ordered a variety of sushi rolls, ramen, and noodle dishes. The Lo Mein style noodle dish had a very large portion and great flavor. The favorite sushi rolls were the Eel & Cucumber, Spicy Crab, and all Specialty rolls. All "spicy" sushi was rather mild. All presentation aspects exceeded my expectations! The staff was kind to bring out a complimentary dessert and sing happy birthday for our guest of honor. This was incredibly kind to make our experience that much better!

I always get the Hibachi, and it never disappoints. Everyone here is so friendly and the service is quick.

Road trips often lead to unexpected food discoveries, and Kasai Japanese Restaurant was definitely…read moreone of them. We were looking for a place with flavorful food, and this turned out to be an excellent choice. The menu offers a great variety of sushi, ramen, hibachi, and other Japanese favorites. I ordered the Hibachi, while the rest of our group enjoyed the Spicy Pork Ramen Bowls. We also shared the Man on Fire sushi roll, which was packed with flavor and was one of the highlights of the meal. The hibachi included a choice of soup or salad, and we all chose the salad. It was fresh and crisp with a delicious house dressing, but the real star was the house jalapeño sauce. It added the perfect amount of flavor and just enough heat without being overpowering. I found myself putting it on everything because it made every bite even better. The Yum Yum sauce was also excellent, but that jalapeño sauce is something I'll remember long after the meal. The service was equally impressive. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and our server was attentive from start to finish. The staff checked on us often, kept everything moving efficiently, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The restaurant has a comfortable, inviting atmosphere, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meal. This was an unplanned stop that turned into one of the best dining experiences of our road trip. If you're in the area, Kasai Japanese Restaurant is absolutely worth a visit--and don't leave without trying the house jalapeño sauce!

Miso soup is okay but we all preferred the salad w their wonderful citrusy ginger dressing The wait staff is always excellent but they need help for the hostesses because there are so many Grub Hub drivers and Luther take-out orders to fill and that fell on our hostesses shoulders the night we arrived w reservations. I was not able to get her attention just to be seated for what seemed a long time. Tuna Niguri sushi was perfect and my Hibachi was as well !

Ordered the "Linner" (buffet) which was hit or niss, more miss. Namely, I'll run down some particulars. Chicken parm? Ugh. Dry and coagulated. The breaded shrimp and Coconut shrimp-both greasy. Pulled pork- that was a winner. BBQ rib ends- a bit fatty, but tasty. Cod over lemon rice- was dry and unappealing. And so on.....hey, it's a buffet, and as I mentioned, some of the items were a bit lacking but you'll have that; oddly, struck me as not unlike a Golden Corral. Now here's the twist. Myself, I actually DID spring for the "all you can eat crab legs and steak", and they were both quite good, and the server was attentive to bringing out more on the regular. Just realize, it's like $69 for that option. Pricey? Depends on your indulgence for crab :-) . End of the day, a "meh" experience, and I probably wouldn't make the effort to return Show less

We were one of three cars in the parking lot. The way all this works is that food is brought out to you instead of a buffet style. This keeps the servers busy, which can lead to some delays. I opted to not get the crab, but did have everything else. I walk say that the majority of my food came out cold. Nothing had great flavor and nothing was tender. It was dry, rubbery and tasted like it was made previously and microwaved. Service was good, the place appeared clean, food disappointing.
