We left this place hours ago and my innards are still trembling. We decided to try it because the elderly couple leaving Chef Lee's next door looked so miserable. It's pretty dirty inside (sticky surfaces, general grubbiness) and the guy taking orders couldn't tell me if the tempura chicken was white meat or not. He said he thought so. Guess what? He was wrong, so wrong. When our styrofoam-clad meals arrived, we popped them open to see a sea of what looked like twice-fried gristle. So much hard breading, so little time! I'll give them credit for it being plentiful! My mother and I each took a bite, looked at each other, and clamped the takeout boxes shut. We hate to throw food away but we're making bets on whether the neighborhood possum will turn up his snout at this. I'll give them one star because they weren't stingy. I've never been served grocery store sauce at a Japanese restaurant. Until now. Not good. Go to get sweet tea and the dispenser empty: Not good, but the unsweetened was decent, so not bad. Sit at a sticky table: Bad. And the food arrives. I wouldn't really call that steak. But the rice was decent. The first broccoli I tried had a funky taste so I skipped out on the vegetables. At least my hunger was semi-quenched. And now the prequel: Yelp reviewers had this place as a 2.0 whilst Google reviewers had it at a solid 4.3. Was once a regular customer, but no longer. I received the wrong order at the drive thru. When I called back I was told that I only had 2 days to come back for my order. My expectations for drive-thru hibachi weren't very high, but my first experience was slightly even less than that. I got the hibachi chicken meal--my chicken was hard and had no hibachi glaze like usual recipes have. It came with a cup of yum yum sauce which was the saving grace. I poured it all over the entire plate. Maybe they assume everyone does that so they don't bother seasoning. I guess I can understand that, however if it was seasoned properly I wouldn't have used nearly as much. The chicken itself was hard, stale morsels. Probably old and reheated. Just bought food from Hibachi Express, 6160 Bradley Park Drive in Columbus Georgia. We went through the drive-thru. I must say the "food" is soOo NOT good!! The food looked as if it was just dumped together. It was not pleasing to the eye at all. The food is very greasy. The veggies are over cooked and limp. The rice was also greasy and tasted burned. The spring rolls were not good either, they had an oily taste to them. That place gives Asian food a bad name. We ended up tossing the meal! I enjoy coming into this restaurant but there is one thing that needs to be fixed. Coming in and eating 3 consecutive times, I have noticed that the tables are sticky. This concerns me. I think the tables are being wiped with the same rag (one to remove debris and the same one put in sanitizer). I had the worst experience here ever. The chicken was so dry and hard. I also had a piece of wire from a brillo pad in my food. I called Terry Ho the owner and told him about my experience and he basically didn't care.
