Went to get a manicure, it took two hours, it was very simple acrylic nails, one solid colour, with two nails having painted flames on them (that took 5 mins to do) after the nails were painted and cured she filed the side leaving a bunch of scratches on the side that drove my OCD insane! I asked for a coffin shape and got a square shape. I had to go back the next day because she missed a nail putting the top coat on. The website said $60 I believe and I paid close to $100, I understand a design costs more, but not $20 each nail for a simple flame design with no glitter or rhinestones. Overall very disappointed. I'd give zero stars if I could. No apologies. Or refunds after everything I went through. Will not go back nor will I recommend. read more

I went to get a pedicure done and when leaving I wasn't sure what I was in for. The nail tech clipped my nail so short I got a nasty Ingrown had to get it removed and take time off work. also after the pedicure she insisted on a manicure which I was fine with but the amount of time it took I was still sitting in the chair an hour after closing and my nails were the incorrect design and very thick. I ended up hating them and had to fix them myself at home. for 180$ I got a crappy set of nails, a nasty ingrown and wasted my time. read more

Brought my mom and daughter here for mani/pedis. My daughter liked the pink hello kitty pedicure kid sized chairs. Mom and I weren't impressed with the mani/pedis. Neither of us really found our feet to be smoother the next day than they were before coming. Haven't been back and likely will try someone where new looking for that elusive unicorn ;-) read more

I've been here a few times with my mom and daughter and it's always so busy! But they always made sure every customer who came in was greeted and asked what kind of service they wanted and they would make sure to get to you right away. The place looks to be recently remodelled and looks very nice and bright. It's under new management and are so much better. And so many colour choices! It's hard to choose just one!! Everything looks very clean and sanitized. My daughter really loves getting her nails done since she can sit on the hello kitty chair. Plus there's a tv for the kids to watch movies. My shellac nails always gets such great compliments :) Would definitely be coming back of course :) read more

I went to get my nails done with my sister in law and we are both disappointed with our experience! I asked for medium/long nails and the lady cut my nails very short (and once they've been cut short you can't add length-unless I want to be charged for additional length), some of my nails are crooked not worth $85! My sister in law was cut multiple times by the lady doing her nails. She got a classic French tip and was charged way more than their advertised price for French tip! If you want to be ripped off go here! I will never be going back here again! read more

The staff did a rushed job on my pedicure. She suggested a spa treatment but she did not do half the stuff that this treatment states it does. It appears minorities are given rushed treatments as if we do not matter but I saw the staff give lengthy massages to the white couple next to me. I did not get a massage and it was the most expensive pedicure. If your a minority don't go to this place they seem to pick and choose which clients deserve their time and who does not. It is disgusting how staff pick and choose and use their language to determine how they treat their clients. She was so rushed she cut my cuticles that are now infected. She was rough with me. It was not a relaxing treatment process. I could see how she just went through the motions. It does not feel good. I will never again waste 80 dollars on a pedicure at this place. I recently got a shellac pedicure here. Like any other salon, High-tech knowledge has it's pros and cons. Pros: - The place looks high end - The atmosphere from the lighting and interior design are welcoming - The shape of my nails and the selection of colors to choose from was impressive Areas of Improvement: - Taking your shoes off before entering the salon is uncomfortable for guests - The pedicure tubs are filled with water in a plastic bag. This feels strange and makes the experience feel cheap - The prices aren't listed and easy to see - A staff member was loudly face timing at her nail station and doing her own nails in between clients There is a break room for a reason. Please keep your personal affairs away from customers. read more

Ok, I'm not sure what dude's problem was - but I think this nail place is fabulous!! Let's face it, we don't go to cheap Nail Bars for a high-end spa experience; we go to get our nails done cheap, and fast! This place is indeed cheap, and super fast (I was in and out in less than 30 minutes). But, they actually have done a really great job of trying to make the place look and feel fancy - "So you fancy, huh" St Albert? Ya you are! There is a little fountain of serenity right when you walk in, the walls are tiled in an elegant-ish way, and there are a TONNE of pedicure chairs. This is a perfect place to book in with a bunch of girlfriends for a pedi-party, birthday or bridal party, etc. All in all, if I am ever back up in the StA again, and in desperate need of a mani, I will 100% come back. read more

I had to give a star to post this but I didn't want to give any at all! Several weeks ago, prior to a trip to California for a convention, I wanted to get a set of get nails and a pedicure but couldn't get in with my regular gal. I had seen Hi Tech Nails and decided to give them a try. Big mistake!! First, when I walked in, I was asked what I wanted (gel nails and a pedicure) and was told it was about a 15 minute wait. No problem. I had a seat by another lady who was also a walk in waiting for a technician. By the way, I was also told that my nails were too short for gel nails and they could only do polish. I later found out that they were not too short at all. They just didn't have staff to do them. While we were waiting, several other people came in and were taken immediately (none of them had appointments, by the way). The other lady and I commented on this and said we were going someplace else then all of a sudden they had time for us. Next, during my pedicure, as I was reading a magazine to take my mind off my extremely ticklish feet, I felt the technician nick the cuticle on the second toe on my right foot. I looked and didn't see any blood so didn't think anything of it. When she was done, she took me to a UV lamp where I sat for nearly 45 minutes. I had decided it was not worth my while to wait for the manicure and was putting on my sandals to leave when she came to get me for my manicure. It was done in lightning speed (fastest manicure I have EVER had) and I paid and left. That night and the next morning, my toe was a bit sore so I swabbed it with rubbing alcohol before bed and before I left for my flight. Over the next few days, my toe became quite red and swollen and by the fifth day, it was very painful and full of fluid. I cleaned and drained it, then bandaged it up. It has been sore ever since and this past weekend, the nail fell off. The toe is now tender (no nail to protect it) so I keeping a close eye on it. I will NEVER go back to Hi Tech Nails, neither would I recommend it. They may be less expensive than most, but you get what you pay for! Guess I paid for trouble! read more

I just returned from my last pedicure at Hi-Tech. The shop has been renovated since my last visit and the staff are new. Of course, I once again got the technician who was in the biggest rush of all - while others around me who had either arrived before or at the same time were still enjoying their pedicure, my technician was long finished and working on the next customer while my nail polish dried. When she finally returned after finishing the other customer's manicure, I pointed out spots that she had missed and said that I felt she had rushed through my pedicure (one person next to me still hadn't had her polish applied). She said 30 minutes was the standard for a classic pedicure and that's about all I got (in fact a little less). Luckily Hi-Tech isn't the only nail salon in town! Will I go back? No. Will I recommend to others? No! read more

Was not happy with how my appointment went. The ladies were in such a rush to do my pedicure and manicure. My feet hurt from the pedicure- the lady was very rough, cut my nails too short, and felt like she was digging into my skin. I was not relaxed at all and very disappointed. When getting my manicure, I asked for the lady to not make my nails too long or pointy as they cannot be for my job. She did not listen after me asking multiple times and I left with nails that looked like cat claws. So upset and I will not be returning here. read more

Average place to get your nails done cheap. I have been coming here off and on for over three years. I come back because they always get me in fast and its cheap.The quality of the nails really depends on which technician you get. I have noticed they don't seem to take cleanliness very seriously and it appears they don't sanitize their cuticle scissors between uses. I have been to other nail techs who won't even use the same file on different customers, these guys use everything on everyone. And please, if I am getting my nails done I really don't appreciate the staff talking to each other in a foreign language and laughing when I am in your chair. Not only is it rude, but I always wonder if you are laughing at me. One other thing that bothers me is they always encourage you to pay cash and they never ring up the purchase in their till. To me it seems like a huge scam. And if you give them the cash they rifle around and waste time until you tell them just to keep all the change. I came here with my husband both of us wanted pedicures - I was quoted 30.00 but because I got 'sparkle nail polish' on two fingers and two toes. They charged me 20.00 extra but although she was the one who insisted it would look nice so I agreed (because I was not told there was an extra charge). I also had the sorriest excuse for a pedicure. My husband and I started at the same time. His lasted about 20 min longer than mine and a lady who has started getting hers ahead of mine was still getting hers done about 15 min after mine ended. I've been going to Hi-Tech for years now and although I've mostly just had my nails done I've also had a few pedicures. The recent change of ownership and renovations were greatly needed and I enjoy my experience a lot more now! It's cleaner and more modern and the people there are super nice. On a few occasions I've had people stay late for me and I've really appreciated that. I was served by a man by the name of "B". He was very nice and welcome, but he did not do a good job on my nails. I had a pedicure done and he put a fake nail since I lost mine in the summer, so it wasn't very long. He barely cut the fake nail and it was longer then my actual toe. I usually am not one to complain, but my fingernails had bubbles in them after and you could clearly see my nails under them. The fake nails he had put on were also cut unevenly and it seemed that the lady noticed the job he had done, considering she was bickering at him and took pictures of my nails. She compared my nails with my sisters, clearly because he hadn't done them properly. All in all, I will not be going back :) read more

Really shady about their pricing. They supposedly have 15% all of September for their grand re-opening and I got my nails done today with my friend and I got a full set and she got a fill, the guy tried to charge me $75. I've never paid more than $60 for gel nails before. I called him out on it than he corrected himself and charged me $58... But that should've been $46.75 with a 15% discount so I have no idea what he was trying to do here, so I paid the $58 since I already had said something. My friend got a fill which should've been around the low 40's with the discount and he charged her $47. Really sneaky with the pricing so please make sure to check what actual pricing of what you're getting done before you pay, because I would've paid an extra almost 20 dollars for average looking nails if I hadn't said anything. If you're going before September ends, definitely do the math before paying. The service was sub par at best, the lady seemed very distracted and was all over the place and kept getting up and leaving and speaking to her coworker the entire time she was doing my service. She made my nails shorter than I had asked, and seemed out of it and not in the best mood. I was told 15-20 minute wait time prior to getting my nails done and actually we waited 45 minutes, and my nails took over an hour so we were there for a total of over 2 hours. Really bad experience, don't think I'll be heading back here anytime soon. read more

This place went from horrible to amazing through the renovation and staff change, or so I've heard. Sure the interior is nice and relaxing. But there's a constant boom of "Hottest Summer Beats" BLASTING for hours on end. I took my girlfriend here to get her nails done and the detail the nail lady did was in real (to me, a noob), but in a non disrespectful way, I typically don't like to hear loud summer beats in a relaxing salon or the loud screaming blabber of another language, typically I wouldn't care, but it's the fact of talking in another language while majority clientele is English and slyly looking at them and smirking. One thing in specific that shut this down for myself and all other clients was that one nail lady pulled out her phone, said something, and everyone dropped what they were doing and looked at her phone for five minutes and seemed to be watching a video, every other customer in there all looked at each other wondering if this is what they were paying their hour for. Awful customer awareness, and blindsided to the mix between relaxing and a rave. Do not recommend. read more

When I first walked in everything seemed okay. They were friendly and seated us quickly. I was getting shellac on my nails for the first time, ( let it be noted that I have very sensitive cuticles), and I was kind of nervous. I tried making friendly conversation with the technician but she kind of just brushed me off. She started normally but then she started working on the cuticles. She just scraped them back really had to make me wince. whenever I showed any signs of pain she would just say " You are okay." next she removed them altogether making multiple fingers bleed. She rested my hand on a towel while they were drying and that made small threads get stuck on the shellac. She never pulled them out! the overall result was decent; she had missed multiple spots all along the sides of my fingers and little bumps were forming in the middle. the top of one of my fingers had almost a horn of dried shellac which I eventually filed down. so it ended up being okay. for two days. after two days had passed, I noticed the corners of the shellac peeling up. within the hour, it had all peeled off leaving just the shredded remains of my fingernails on display. read more

I found that the people who worked there was very judgemental towards me and my mother. also I asked for just gel nails and they did a weird mix of Gel and Acrylic which I was not ok with. they came out looking rather sloppy. But I think the main points I'd like to add is the fact that they were not carful, They made my finger bleed and they didn't clean their station at all when it was my turn which frightens me that they also don't properly clean and dispose their tools. read more

Here is some advice for your salon, make sure your nail techs all know how to file and cut nails properly. After visiting your salon, I have had ingrown toenails for 5 months. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE. I HAVE TO GET SURGERY TO FIX IT. I might lose my toenails, do you realize how terrible that is???? I have never in my life had an ingrown toenail until I visited your salon. Unfortunately I do not have the name of the individual who did my nails. The service I received was gel toes, the customer service was friendly that is not my complaint. I remember telling the woman doing my nails that it hurt after as she had cut too much on the side. To be frank, my toe nails are so painful I can hardly walk, it is swollen and pussing constantly, I have been on antibiotics three times in order to control the infection, I have to epsom salt soak my feet twice a day for 20 minutes, all in an attempt to avoid surgery. But it did not work, and now they are going to cut off half my toe nail and then kill the root in attempt to stop the nail from being ingrown. There is a chance it will ruin my whole nail. THANKS!!!!!!!!!! If I could go back in time I would erase my visit. I am not one to write reviews but I feel I needed to let you know. read more
