Such a fan of the ladies at Hi Tech. Helen does the best job on my lashes and does not rush, making each lash perfectly placed. All my girlfriends who spend way too much money getting their lashes done elsewhere always say how impressed they are with mine, even weeks later. In fact, they are now going to Helen also. I also get my bio nails done here with either Hazel or Vivian. Both do a fantastic job with shaping and design. I tend to keep things super simple with just a single color or only my ring finger with a design. I get lots of compliments on my nails no matter what I have done to them. They also have a huge collection of Bio Seaweed Gel colors, which is the only line of polish I will use. If you really want to try something pretty have them do your ring fingers with the Swarovski Crystals, I like to do a light pink with the ring finger in crystals. It is a little expensive but looks so pretty, lasts for weeks and what girl doesn't like a little bling on the ring fing. ;) They do get really busy with a lot of walk in's so I suggest always booking an appointment and showing up a few mins before to avoid having to wait. read more

This place is just not what it used to be. I normally go to Vivian because I like her communication, speed, and accuracy when creating the shape of my acrylic nails. Lately she has been busy so I have been going to Cindy. Cindy seems to be getting more and more rude, eager to rush the job, I have even caught her filing my nail shape without even looking at what she is doing. If I hadn't asked about the base coat and french base colour she would have simply done the french tip, top coat and rushed me off. Today I was charged $25 for a simple acrylic overlay on short nails (extension tip only required to one nail I had broken last week) plus $5 for the french. That's $30 for something I paid $15 for less than a year ago. Ive only been home for a few hours and my nails already look weeks old. Scuff marks, bubbles, rough edges. Not very happy with the job that was done for an acrylic fill. I was in a rush to get my nails done for a wedding and asked the lady who greeted me (seemed like the owner) if she had time right away. Firstly, she said yes right away so I sat patiently while she finished filing another lady's nails. She did indeed start me right after that, but to my surprise stopped what she was doing to me so that she could go back to the other customer to paint her nails and give her a hand massage. When she finally finished with the other lady, 20 minutes later, she came back to me to continue filling and filling my nails. Before she even began, I had asked her not to file my nails on the sides very much because I wanted to take them off when they got long so that I could have long natural nails that didn't grow out looking crooked or ugly. Contrary to my request, she kept filing away telling me that "skinny nails look more natural", even after I had asked her to stop filling. After I showed her how much she filed my nails and how terrible they looked, she stayed silent and began to add acrylic filler on the sides to make my nails look more full. Naturally, I was still upset because the whole purpose of having asked not to file my nails on the sides was so that I could eventually take them off and have natural long nails. Not only this, but I had told her I didn't have much time from the beginning. I went in at 10:30 am and expected I would be done within 45 minutes for a fill. I ended up leaving at 12:45 pm after the final layer of polish without even drying my nails, making me extremely late for the wedding and leaving worried they would ruin because they were still wet (which they did because I still had to put my dress on after). The nails weren't even cheap to make up for the terrible job. They also charge an additional $5 for polish. I have 2 stars for the attempt to fix the mistakes but only 2 because they shouldn't have been made to begin with. I was not impressed at all, to say the very least. read more

This is the worst experience I have had doing a leg wax. The woman covered my legs in wax from the roll on (not original stick apply wax method) and she ripped it off along with my outer layer of skin!! When I was very young I lost both my parents in a car accident that I witnessed from the car behind them. Needless to say the experience was traumatic and left me with mental and emotional scars that would last my whole life. One of the side affects of experiencing such a trauma was having developed a life long nail biting habit. So in I went to Hi Tech Nails. I didn't feel judged or embarrassed at all!! And they did an AMAZING job at reconstructing my nails...they look natural and masculine..If your looking for nail restoration this is a great place if your in the Mimico area. i came here to do my mani and pedi and wax. The people ran my pedicure water and made me sit with my feet in the water for half and hour before they started. And that's because The person who was supposed to work on me was a half hour late. they had another worker who was sitting there doing nothing while other people waited... i was soo mad, i left then the owner started yelling at me. that wasn't the first time she yelled at me. i told her i sat there for half and hour and i had expected to be gone soon, i had other things to do. plus i made an appointment and she tried to tell me i was late for my appointment. wow i guess it doesn't take much to run a business these days read more

I went here once to get a French manicure. First of all, I could not understand what the lady was saying most of the time, even when I asked her to repeat herself. Secondly, she managed to make my cuticles bleed several times. This really disgusted me since this has never happened to me at a salon and it made me uncomfortable that she was cutting my cuticles so harshly. Also, I was not 100% satisfied with the finished product because the tip was very thick (she made it almost half my nail). This manicure did not even last me a week. I've gotten this manicure at a different place before and never has it formed so many air bubbles before (like 3 days in)! This is what caused it to peel so quickly. All but one of the ladies here are awesome! If you get Tina for a pedicure be prepared for roughness and foul mood. I have two teenage girls and they always get attitude if they can't afford to tip her. All the other ladies are friendly, professional and they give good foot scrubs without making you bleed or sore. I had a massage at Hi Tech about three years ago and the experience was wonderful. I went again on Saturday for what I was hoping to be the same relaxing and soothing experience. Was I ever in for a shock. The same woman who gave me such a great massage just three years ago left me feeling as though I had been physically assaulted! The majority of the "massage" was not actual massaging.It was hot stones not gently being rubbed, but being scrubbed against my back, arms and legs. She left the room so may times to heat the stones up, it was actually a joke. Anytime I told her she was hurting me, she said "it's okay, let it hurt". I couldn't wait for it to be over. Later that evening when I undressed to shower, there were red marks on my arms that looked like a sunburn. This morning I have bruises all over both of my arms! I have no idea why the same person could be so different in their technique, but I will never be going back. Unless you like pain, and lots of it, I suggest you stay away from this place for a massage. read more
