It was worth the drive from my hotel at the convention center to get away from the overrated, overpriced touristy spots nearby. The drinks were great too. I had an Old Fashioned and a Kentucky Mule, and both were excellent. It's nice finding a place that feels like a real cocktail bar instead of just another tourist trap. Definitely will be back on my next trip to Anaheim. Highly recommend if you're looking for something a little more local and off the beaten path.

We arrived about an hour after opening, and the bar already felt completely unprepared. The bartender was eating food at the bar while we were there, and after getting our initial drinks, we were essentially left on our own. She never checked back with us, and not once were we asked if we wanted another drink. For a place I had been excited to finally visit, this was easily one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. The service was inattentive, the atmosphere felt unprofessional, and the overall experience left a very bad impression. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back.

When I first walked in, I was looking for a specific bottle and asked an employee for help. She was standing on her phone, and when I asked where the bottle was, she simply replied, "It's in the back." Since I wasn't familiar with the layout of this store, I asked if she could tell me where in the back--left, right, straight ahead, etc. She just repeated, "I said it's in the back." As a first-time customer at this location, that wasn't very helpful and honestly made me feel dismissed. Thankfully, the rest of my experience was completely different. I found another employee near the refrigerator section, and he was amazing. He walked me directly to what I was looking for, helped me grab everything I needed, and even carried it up to the register for me. He was incredibly friendly, made me laugh, and genuinely turned my shopping experience around. The cashier was also super sweet, and the manager who was there took the time to ask how my day was going and chatted with me for a bit. Those interactions made the store feel much more welcoming. While my first interaction wasn't great, everyone else I encountered provided excellent customer service and really made up for it. I hope the employee I first spoke with can be reminded that a little kindness and direction go a long way, especially for customers who aren't familiar with the store.

The menu has changed quite a bit over the years while the brewery has also increased in size/number of people it can accommodate. The service is usually pretty good but what stood out to me most was an experience I had recently that prompted me to write a review. I had a server named Ricky who really added a great touch to the night. He was very knowledgeable of the beer and food menu and made several great recommendations. After speaking with him for a few minutes, it was very clear he knew the menu well and was passionate about the beer selection. As a beer guy myself, I appreciated his in-depth knowledge about the beers. Additionally, he had great attention to detail and was very good about checking in with me. Between checking in frequently with me, I witnessed him tend to several other tables and was impressed by how focused he was on everybody making sure everyone was good. As someone who has been coming here for a while now, I've had many different servers take care of me, but none of them like Ricky. Lastly, if someone from golden road is reading this, please bring back the 329 lager. It was an amazing light lager that was perfect during the summer. I first had it when it was introduced years ago and have been hoping for a return of it since it disappeared.
