This studio has a rich history. In the 70s, David Bowie recorded here. The studio has hardwood floors and a piano in the main recording space as well as a number of other instruments available for musicians to use while on-site. There are isolation rooms and space for mixing and writing music as well as lounging and grabbing a cup of coffee. This is a modern and full service recording studio. Great place to record music.

Bill Waara has been fantastic to work with and I feel he and I have become friends over the years. I have changed out my power amp and pre-amp from the original components but still McIntosh and still very happy with everything. Please, please do not take your vintage audio equipment here!! Before I really knew anything about…read morethe equipment I had, I took my Marantz 2330 to them for repair. Not only did they not fix anything, but they actually made my receiver worse by bypassing the protection circuit. I now have a frozen woofer on one of my formerly pristine AR 3a's. What a shame. They don't know what they are doing, don't stand behind their work, and are extremely expensive for the "work" they do. I have even heard of them redoing speakers and convincing people to trade out their original drivers for new ones. Not because it's in the best interest of the client, but because they want the original part to resell. They don't have the nickname "Audio Vultures" for nothing. Stay away!

Danceworks is a wonderful non-profit dance organization that does some pretty cool stuff for the…read morecommunity like their Mad Hot Ballroom (kids ballroom) and Mad Hot Tap programs. They are also a dance company and offers performances, as well as a school that offers a pretty fantastic range of classes for both kids and adults. I've taken adult ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, African and ballroom dance classes at Danceworks. They also offer some fitness based classes like Zumba and Barre Workout classes as well. This org hosts a great variety of classes and has so many performance opportunities for both professional and developing dancers. I would recommend a regular end of session survey for regular attendees to be able to review the class and instructor in order to help develop newer teachers and to understand what clients are expecting or looking for from the class. One area of improvement would be better follow up from staff. Sometimes it takes more than one or two attempts to hear back regarding an inquiry. Overall I am very happy with Danceworks, an important local institution here in Milwaukee for the arts, education, culture, youth development and adult enrichment. Get out and see a performance or take a class, you will not regret it!

I am seriously so grateful to have this studio in the city. It's affordable, it has a sweet sense of community, and it's so much fun. There is a parking lot which is major and it's kind of confusing because some of the parking is for the apartments connected but I've parked closest to the entrance of the studio and never had an issue. Definitely recommend.
