I was able to get an LG 4 door stainless steel refrigerator with the touchscreen Pad that connects to WIFI, found an almost new Kenmore 5 burner stainless steel stove with double oven. Paid just under $2k for both items when i was expecting to spend $3-$4K. Mr. Lara (the dad) was soo nice that he offered to have it delivered the same day despite it being closing time and didnt charge me for delivery. My entire experience from the minute I walked in to the delivery was PHENOMENAL. They even called me a couple days later to make sure there werent any issues during the delivery or with the appliances. I will continue to send all my friends and loved ones to Laras Appliances. A week later, I picked up the machine and immediately made a few observations: the feet climbed very well, the machine is very smooth, but the needle bar was now striking the walking foot when I lift the foot and rotate the machine. I was skeptical and spoke briefly with the technician who fixed the machine. He insisted the machine was adjusted correctly. I was still skeptical, but took the machine home to work with it for awhile. I had the same problem at home: the needle bar strikes the walking foot when the foot is lifted. This made it difficult to pull the bobbin thread from underneath the machine after I thread the needle. I sent a photo and video of the machine to the customer service division of the manufacturer (Sailrite), who replied that the needle bar is too low and that bar should never collide with the walking foot at any point in the rotation. So I took the machine back to Southwest Sewing and explained the problem again. A second technician told me the machine was correctly adjusted. So I was stuck between conflicting advice from two technicians: one from Southwest Sewing who insists the machine is correctly adjusted and a second from the manufacturer who insists the needle bar and the walking foot should never collide. After some thought, I decided to trust the manufacturer. I'm searching for another repair place.

This company stands behind its work. Hard to be objective on this one. Several years ago, I spent an entire day getting my grill cleaned up & shiny. This year, I thought I'd let the pros handle the job. The technician was a friendly fellow ... and worked for several hours. All the visible surfaces (both body & grill) were cleaned. But the under side of the grate were still coated with blackened crust With their steam cleaning process, I would have thought both sides of the grate would have come out sparkling. Same with the warmer rack. I was also under the impression some repairs could be made ... replace burners, ignitions and the like. But my technician said he didn't do that stuff. So, I had to call Weber, get the parts and install a new manifold, burners & igniter. Not difficult, but I really wanted to pass on the chore to a pro. The tech cleaned up the patio, made sure there were no stains on the deck and left everything in its place. In the end, I have a relatively clean grill - far cleaner than what it had been. Just not quite as spotless as I had been able to accomplish a few years back.

The good: Reasonable prices, friendly technicians, were able to be booked on short notice…read more The bad: I caught a mistake myself that would have caused some drywall damage if I didn't convince/ show them before the left. In summary, my laundry room was recently painted and the dryer vent ducting came out of the back of the machine. I tried to fix it myself but when I pushed the machine back against the wall the duct kept coming off. Unfortunately I found this out by leaking a whole dryer load worth of hot air into my house (fortunately we have an electric dryer so it wasn't bad fumes). Anyways, I yelped around to find a good local company, and strawberry appliance was able to make it out within a few hours. The guys were friendly, replaced the duct from the wall to the machine with a more pliable one so that would stop coming undone, and all this went well. The issue was the connection on the opposite side of the wall had come undone from the work they did, so essentially all the hot air wouldn't have ducted directly outside. I'm sure this would have caused some moisture issues, and I would have expected them to check that before they wrapped up, but they appreciated me catching it and were able to quickly and easily fix it. Overall I would use them again, but would keep an eye out as they haven't fully gotten my trust yet due to the one mistake on the one time they came out.
