Top notch store. Great customer service and just sooo much to choose from and to get inspired by. Classes are also back in session at their NEW location. The new location is huge and spacious! Terrible service!!! I dropped off an item there over 2 months ago, and I have yet to hear from them. I called them a month ago, and they said they contacted me one time but the phone was busy (I have call waiting!). They didn't know the model number for my embroidery machine so they hadn't worked on it yet (I gave them that information when I brought the item in.) I was there for their anniversary sale in July--complete cluster!! They only had 2 people working the register, discussing repairs and taking orders which made the line excruciatingly long. What's more, they ran out of line numbers (their numbers only went up to 30), so instead of making more, they just didn't do anything as the line got longer and angrier. They couldn't figure out how to re-order the numbers for distribution. Another customer offered to make more numbers starting with 31, but they argued with her that it wouldn't work. There was almost a hostile takeover. Meanwhile, those of us in line shook our heads. Waited over an hour to purchase a few things and the discount wasn't even that great. I would have left after waiting for 30 mins and observing the fiasco, but I'd already invested so much time and I needed the thread for a project. Their prices are exorbitant. I purchased my machine there and all the "extras" you get there are not worth the time or value they put on it. Unfortunately the people there are not very intelligent so their "lessons" are not very helpful. I would recommend going to Jackman's instead. Their people are not always the friendliest but they are much better at teaching and their prices are more fair. read more

Came in looking for help on a specific items, the salesgirl just read me the descriptions on the items rather than expounding on their differences, but I guess that's typical these days of customer service. Not friendly, high prices. I will just buy online next time. Also got the impression the ladies ran the store to chat with their friends rather than help customers. I wandered the store for 10 minutes before anyone approached me. Not that they were helping other customers, just chatting about TV. Having never been by this shop, I wasn't sure what I was going to encounter when I stopped by for a family member. I walked in, not sure of where the main desk was, and finally found it nestled along the wall. I waited behind a couple who were having issues with a machine. There was a lady doing nothing standing next to the lady who was helping the couple. Finally after a few minutes the lady yells for another lady who was in the backroom with a sewing class. Eventually she came to me to help. I was there to ask about their Row by Row experience. Not sure what I was getting, I told the lady what I needed and she hastily walked away and said they had no more of the kits. I get handed a pattern and she didn't ask me if there was anything else I needed. I finally asked the other person if they were going to get more kits in and they said no, which I'm not sure why the other lady wasn't willing to wait around and answer that. I hope that I receive much better customer service if I'm ever needing the store's services again. read more

I walked into Heyde, having no experience with embroidery at all, under the recommendation of someone. I was not sure what to expect. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Cheryl helped us to choose an embroidery machine, taking over an hour to show us every part of the machine and what it could do, as well as answering all of our ridiculous questions. After that, we told her we wanted to think about it for a while and she walked away, no questions asked, no pressure. It really amazed me that after taking all of that time to show us everything that she was not in the least bit put out that we weren't sure if we would buy or not. We did end up buying the machine (for a great price) and she helped us choose the accessories we needed. She again surprised me when she talked me out of buying unnecessary items, because it was a waste of my money. I would recommend this store to anyone starting out that has questions like we did and would like to take their time in making such a large purchase! read more

I had been told my multiple people to not go here. I should have listened. I took my machine, and my moms machine in to get serviced. $120 each. They lost the work order on mine, and they broke something on my moms, which we didn't find out till later. When we took it back- they said it would be another $120 because we didn't bring it back in 30 days (mom is elderly, and caring for my father, so she didn't get to use her machine right away). No where on their paper work does it say you have 30 days to let them know if something isn't right after they have your machine. Will not be taking my machine there for servicing- will not be shopping there either. They were cold and indifferent- so I don't think they will care. read more

Bought a new brother sewing machine today. I went in yesterday to look at the different machines to see which I would like. The sales woman (Kathy) was very patient with all my questions, gave me her complete attention, and told me the advantages of each. There was also no pressure to buy which I really appreciated. I went back today to look some more and made a decision and bought one. I different sale women(Pam) helped me today, Again she was very patient with me, answered all my questions, explained how to set it up at home and some special features that I might miss. I have been a customer of Heyde's for years. I purchased my first sewing machine from Heyde's 20 years ago, a used Pfaff that is still my primary machine. I've had it serviced 2 or 3 times at Heyde's along with 2 repairs to my embroidery machine (also purchased at Heyde's) and have always been pleased with their service. After picking up my embroidery machine the last time it was serviced, I was still getting poor results with the embroidery. However, there was a beautiful sample of work that the repairman had left in the machine to demonstrate that it was working fine. Instead of returning the machine, I took the sample the repairman had done on my machine and the sample I had done to the store to see if they could help. The woman who assisted me immediately told me it was the quality of the thread I was using. She asked where I purchased my thread and confirmed that she had the same problem with her machine. I purchased embroidery thread from the brands carried by Heyde's, went home and wa-la, the machine worked perfectly! I live over an hour away from the store so I only make it in a couple of times a year, but I've always had a positive experience and have referred a number of friends to this store. I purchased an embroidery machine from them. It has been in the shop more than at my house. It has not worked since the day I purchased it. They refuse to admit it is a lemon. I am working with Brother to get this resolved. They are rude and if you are not in their little click dont bother going into the store because they are too busy visiting with each other to help you. It would be safer to buy a machine online because they do not stand behind what they sell. I have been sewing for over 30 years and have my own business. I normally shop online but i thought it would be safer to buy such a large purchase locally. BIG mistake! There is a darling quilt store with a ton more products over in Illinois. Hopefully I will never have to go there again. I took my Brother embroidery machine to be serviced and came very close to tears from the verbal abuse by their serviceman. I am told this is the owner's husband. After servicing my machine, it still wasn't running correctly so I returned and politely asked if they would take a look at it again. I was told that I didn't know what I was talking about, that it was perfect. The serviceman told me that I had no idea what I was talking about, that he had gone to school to learn this and I knew nothing about it. He asked me what did I know about embroidery machines as I didn't have the training that he did. I ended up having to take the machine out of town to get it serviced correctly. By the way, when I got it back, it sewed perfectly. All in all, a perfectly deplorable experience. read more

You had the options of shipping it to the person you purchased it from or directly to Brother. Regards to your drop off time and pickup, Your machine was serviced VERY fast for warranty work, normally it takes 3 weeks. We can not release repairs until its approved by Brother for payment and it was late 26th. I guess we should have called you at midnight. November 2017, I searched on eBay for designworks for my husband's Bernina as a Christmas gift. I contacted this company, to purchase said software at a reduced price because it was only useable on Windows 7, which is what we were running. From all the research I did, the software was a stand alone functional software and you could add other modules to it. In January 2018, my husband spent over 2 weeks installing and uninstalling trying to get the software to work, but it kept requesting he enter a code, which was never received....I was determined to get it to work, went the same direction he had and received the same error message. I contacted Heyde/Karen and told her what message we were getting.....she said she would contact Bernina....long story short, I had to chase her down.....she told me the same thing she had said before and that it was something we were doing....I supplied screen shotsand did everything she said Bernina said to do....still would NOT work.....I have not had any type of customer service, but always had to chase her down to try to resolve the issue.....I finally said I was returning the whole package she sent and would like a refund of the purchase price....it was over a month and I finally contacted her and she says she never received the priority mail package, but after speaking with the postmaster in St. Louis, she assured me it was delivered......I have requested she do me the courtesy of a response so we can resolve this and I can replace my husband's Christmas gift, but silence......please be careful doing business with this company as they are not very responsive or customer focused. read more

I've been going to the shop for over nine years and they've always been very funny very helpful very informative and they always have what I need. They run their fabric with the newest ideas they are up to dated with all the new Quilting lines and they definitely are on top of the newest machines they will give you lessons and they will help you if you just have a question concerning a project. Yes, this shop is a bit more expensive than your box fabric shops but then they know exactly what you're talking about and they know how to make it easier for you and I'm willing to pay a little bit more for fabric to get the support when I making a quilt or any other fabric project.I have not had a class with them yet but I bought three machines there had some issues with them they fixed it .you have to be patient it takes time to make a quilt and a new machine can be scary to use at first , but they're there to help you,because if you don't use the machine, you're not going to be happy and they want you to be able to sew and be happy sewing! read more

I purchased an embroidery machine from them a little over six months ago. They were super nice and helpful when I was in to purchase the machine. They were willing to give me unlimited lessons, help, insight etc until I picked up the machine. Once they got their money, they were rude and did not follow through on anything they said. I would schedule times for instruction weeks in advance and when I would get there, either the instructor was not there or no one in the store knew how to work that particular model of machine. They would tell me that I would just need to reschedule after driving 1 1/2 hours to get there. I would not recommend this store to anyone! Once you buy, you better be ready to be on your own! So very disappointing! Heyde sewing listed a machine for sale on Craigslist. I was in the store 4 minutes after it was listed. They didn't have the machine advertised and no one seemed to know anything about it. They did have a similar model at a much higher price they tried very hard to sell me. Classic bait and switch.
