Lots of candy. Lots of nostalgia. But it all comes at a super high price. It's a novelty store, so I guess one should expect to pay a premium. My kiddos did enjoy taking an assortment of strange flavored sodas (Dirt Soda, Grass Soda, etc.) back to my husband to 'taste test'. Their ice cream is very tasty and has a wide variety of traditional flavors as well as some unusual things. Each time we've been, the staff has been very friendly. The girl was making waffle cones and the store smelled sweet. Some of these sodas are quite unique and it's $2.5 each. New candy shop in a super cute upper-scale location of college station ! It's kind of hidden in the back but when we finally found it we loved it ! When you walk in the space is pretty small but they have TONS of options. There's a full wall of ice cream flavors , fudge / chocolate options , tons of different soda flavors , and of course candy ! It's a little pricey but so are all candy shops . So if you are willing to dish out 15-30 dollars for some good candy I recommend this stop. read more

This is the coolest candy shop I ever seen. Straight from the Willy Wonka movie I think. They have all types of candy in the heart of century square. The only draw back is the price of candy. Hey sugar was found right beside Hop Doddy's in the new shopping district in college station. Even though it was tucked away the ambiance was really cute and what you'd expect out of a candy/sweets shop. I had the cotton candy ice cream with the cake cone (which I was confused by but was actually just a regular cone you can get at McDonald's) I would definitely go back and try their chocolates! I want to say that they're homemade but I'm not too sure. They also have some unique sodas closer towards the back. Definitely check it out if you do get the chance. read more

This place is amazing. Very unique compared to most stores. Super friendly staff! They had so many options to choose from including items I had never seen before. I loved their ice cream and they even carried my favorite candy that I can barely find anywhere else. Not like creepy uncle weird, but squirrel who accidentally drank a Red Bull weird. What makes this place worth it, is the ICE CREAM! This place is amazing! It was my first time in, and I love all the classic options ! There's not only vintage candy options, but a huge variety of soda options (classic, retro, and weird!) they even have homemade ice cream! I tried A mixture of the jacked up coke ice cream and ginger beer and it tasted Just like a Tennessee mule! (But alcohol free) The cashier Jordyn was super sweet and went above and beyond for me and my sister's experience. She catered to us the whole time and it was organic and genuine- not fake customer service at all! If every worker at every store had Jordyn's personality and work ethic , the world would be a better place! read more

Worst service received today I decided to take my girls to checkout at Hey Sugar but definitely wasn't sweet. No greeting when walking in but I watched Alyssa watching us as well walked around which wasn't much to see , lots of candies are empty. So we walked over to the ice cream which Ashlyn was there , definitely not a welcoming face like she didn't want to be at work , so my girls decided to sample the ice before choosing, the whole Ashlyn seems irritated about something so as my girls decided their ice cream and proceeded to go check out . This Caucasian family walks up and Ashlyn is very friendly and welcoming and talkative, while scratching her head, very unsanitary.It sickens me that not only I witnessed this racist behavior, my kids as well. To make manners ever worst , I asked for my receipt and corporate number because this behavior is ridiculous and if this Establishment stands for this type of behavior as an African American women we will never spend another dime there . Jamie the cashier thought is was funny and tried to throw the paper with everyone's name on , like I had germs or was going to touch him and I refused to allow anyone disrespectful nor children.. At first going into Hey Sugar for the first time in months I was excited to see how much it changed in a good way! I could tell walking in that there was either a new store manager or something because the store looked amazing! But on the negative side I was in the store with my grandma about a week ago in the afternoon and one of the employees was very rude and gave attitude to what looked like her manager. At this time the store had quite a few customers and it was very embarrassing. This girl set an awful example and just should not be in customer service!! On the bright side I love whoever re amped the store but feel bad for the store manger that probably worked hard on changing the store then had to deal with an employee that had no respect for her customers or management! read more
