Now there are new owners (for a couple of years now) and our favorite groomer Rolisha is no longer there. My mom dropped Coco off and I was on the phone when she told them we did not want a low cut. I then had my mom go back in and I spoke with the groomer myself on FaceTime asking if the cut number they told my mom would still leave Coco fluffy since I did not want her hair low. We were assured by the groomer that she would still be fluffy! When I went to pick her up, she had a low cut. I called back (for the first time ever) to speak with management and let them know my disappointment with the service. Instead of being understanding and trying to come to a resolve, the manager/owner was extremely dismissive and argumentative, saying that the groomer told us the number and we agreed. Once I explained (again) that we explained several times we did not want a low cut and wanted her fluffy, she switched the narrative saying they had to cut her low because of matting. In the past if matting was an issue, I would get a phone call from Rolisha or the front desk explaining that and requiring me to approve the lower cut. After going in circles, I was over it and just them know how disappointed I was that they took no accountability. Again, in over 6 years this is the first phone call they've ever received from me. Extremely disappointed in the owner/management and lack of accountability. I really wish I would have gotten Rolisha's information before she left!

I recently had a disappointing experience at Pet Evolution Richmond with my dogs during their…read moregrooming appointment. When I picked them up, I discovered a cut on one dog's paw that was bleeding, along with a cut on the right side of my other dog's eye. I wasn't informed about these injuries at the time of pickup. While I understand that accidents can occur, I would have appreciated a heads-up. Initially, I thought the blood on the car seat was from menstruation, and I only noticed Malu's injury after we got out of the car. This was the first time we encountered such issues, and it would have been helpful to be notified that both dogs had cuts. I attempted to call for clarification and sent two emails and text messages, but I never received a response. I would appreciate at least a call back as I haven't heard anything at all.

If I could give this "business" zero stars, I would. This was my first visit to Pet Evolution and…read moremy absolute last! Before scheduling an appointment, I asked for a groomer who worked well with senior dogs and who would be patient and gentle. My 9 pound 15 year old dog had just had dental surgery the week before, so I instructed Randy to not wash her face, brush her teeth or touch her mouth. I just wanted him to bathe her and tidy her up around her rear and legs. I came to pick her up about two hours later and she was not ready. I waited another 45 minutes or so and was asked to pay before Daphne was brought out. The attached pictures is how she looked when I picked her up. Roland, the manager said that Randy was not able to cut her hair because Daphne was resistant. He stated Randy attempted to muzzle my dog and she bit him but I never saw the bite marks in person. Daphne had just had all her front and bottom teeth extracted and could barely chew at this point. I called the owner and he met me at the store. He would not allow me to speak to Randy in person and said Randy was in the back and did not want to come out. I asked to see the bite marks and he showed me a picture of four puncture wounds but there was no face in the picture. Daphe could not have done this amount of damage. When I went to pick up Daphne, she yelped and walked away from me. Her tail was between her legs and she was visibly shaken and scared as you can see in the pictures. The owner gave me money to get another groom, but for the rest of the day until the next morning if I attempted to touch Daphne around her neck, she would yelp. I had to make her come from under the bed to use the bathroom and she only did that one time. I stressed to the groomer not to touch Daphne's mouth because of the dental surgery and he attempted to muzzle her and apparently rough handled her trying to get the muzzle on causing pain to her neck. I contacted the owner that evening via text but he did not respond. The next morning I took her to the ER where they said there was trauma to her neck. The morning before the grooming appt. Daphne went to her dental follow up and did not react at her when the vet, tech or myself picked her up. It was not until after her visit at Pet Evolution, that she responded negatively to touch. I called the owner back after the ER visit and left a message but to date, he has been unresponsive. My dog has been on pain meds since her visit on March 16th. She is getting better but went through a lot of pain over this man who rough handled her. Daphne has been getting groomed for over 12 years and she has never been turned away for misbehaving or resisting a bath or cut. I am livid at this groomer and establishment and feel that they should be responsible for vet costs. The owner, Harry, has blatantly disregarding me and this matter. Anyone who treats customers like this deserves to be out of business. I hope every customer thinking about giving Pet Evolution their business will think twice before doing so.

A few hours later, Ralph underwent bladder stone surgery at Rosenberg Veterinary Clinic, where I paid approximately $2,700 for the surgery and related treatment. After the surgery, the clinic sent me home with two medications and verbally informed me that one was an antibiotic and the other was a pain medication. Over the following days, Ralph did not improve and appeared to be getting worse. Tragically, he passed away on May 19, 2026, less than a week after surgery. After his passing, I reviewed the medications that had been dispensed to me and realized that both medications were pain medications. There was no antibiotic included, despite the clinic charging me for one and informing me that they had provided it. I contacted the veterinary office on May 20, 2026, and staff admitted that the antibiotic had not been given to me. They stated they reviewed their camera footage and confirmed the medication was never dispensed. They apologized for the mistake; however, they are refusing to provide a refund or otherwise take responsibility. They (the owners) tried to say the reason they couldn't refund me was because I scheduled an appointment and didn't show up, what they didn't notate was that I called them twice that day once at 8:04 am and then again at 1 pm the same day to reschedule due to work schedule but their front desk is horrible at picking up the phone. Please be careful with bringing your pets here.
