Winco is 1/2 the price for chicken breast.

Either way, the staff has been consistently friendly and the experience smooth. The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. I've spent my last dollar with Steve Fischer…read more I've used Fischer's for the last 6 years for deer processing, and always pick up a sack or two of extra meats, cheeses, and spreads when I pick up the finished deer. Always dealt with the courteous younger workers in the past. We drive from Sherman because the product has been good in the past and the drive is not too bad, offering us a chance to reminisce about a hunt on the way in to the processor. Deer hunting for my kids has always had an unspoken goal of driving to Fischer's after the hunt. Last night we brought a doe in at just after 7 PM and I called Steve Fischer - the first name listed on the list of phone numbers to call. I've never met Steve before last night, though I have heard about him. I've never in my life dealt with a more rude or patronizing individual. I sat there and watched him patronize and demean a 14-year-old kid because he obviously didn't want to get off of his azz and come check in this kid's deer. If you don't want to come up after hours, then don't put your name on the sign. I asked him if we were putting him out and that we don't aim to, or make a make a practice of such. After a smart azz and unprofessional response, I instructed my son to put his deer back in the truck and advised Steve we'd just go somewhere else. The relative positive is that I got to talk with my son for an hour about the value of his dollar, businesses who deserve it, and businesses that do not. I've referred a friend to Fischer's about a month ago who described a similar experience dealing with Steve at check-in. You've earned your last dollar from us bud.

The star of the burger was the bun; jalapeño bread reminiscent of a Shlotskys sandwich bread but nice and soft. I could eat just an order of those buns. Overall food 5 stars. I definitely want to come back for the signature prime rib on a Friday or Saturday. That meatloaf sounds tempting too, and the brisket mac and cheese caught my eye. Also, there is a wall of quite the selection of local honey, jams, etc. BUT the real gem, the raw meat counter was chock-full of incredible cuts and varieties of meats! We decided to try to the cordon bleu chicken and brisket poppers this trip, as well as an 18 pound brisket, YUM! The employees were ready to help with any questions and even handed us a basket when our hands started to get too full. So grateful! I will note for future review readers, there is about a 4% card charge. Apparently there are signs that I missed while I was busy bouncing my eyes from product to product, so I ended up having to call once I got home about why the receipt showed a much high price than the label on the meats. So, the price label on the products is the cash price, totally understandable! In conclusion, Wise Choice exceeded our expectations on meat selection, and they even have Diet Dr Pepper and Topo Chico (I didn't have to run to Walmart for sodas! Woohoo!). Thanks team!!

RESPONSE TO OWNER COMMENT - Thanks for the prompt reply! :-). My point is that they were not what's expected as fresh and sold at $8. Not mass produced eggs are rich, dark yellow/orange yolks. Its ok. I expected too much. Simply - If they are mass produced and genetically engineered hens to make their eggs the same, they are not fresh local chicken eggs. It's OK - Lesson learned.
