With progressive I…read morehad the choice to go to a dealership or to a local auto body shop and I chose the local to support local businesses. After picking up my car I noticed new chips off the paint on my back bumper that I believe were not there when I dropped it off originally. I called them the next day and the gentlemen at the front desk said to find a time you can bring it in and we will take care of it. I dropped it off on the 12th, got a call the 13th from a woman saying they didn't know what was being done to my car....I explained the situation and she said everyone was on vacation or off so thats why they didn't know and someone would call me the following day if there was an issue. I waited a week and called on the 19th to see what was going on with what should just be a quick paint job. No one seemed to know what was going on with my car after being placed on hold twice. Actually spoke to Tom Shockey he said he was reviewing cameras to make sure they were at fault. He said he would call me the following day. I waited till the 23rd because I understand people get busy and watching camera is a time consuming activity. I spoke to someone who said that Tom wasn't in and he would leave him a message. I never received a call from anyone letting me know what was happening and where they were in the process. I eventually just went and picked up my car on the 27th and they happily gave it to me. I don't care that it never got fixed because it so small but I think their way of doing business with how they communicate to the customer who is without a car for 2 weeks is completely unprofessional. I am a business owner and if a customer claimed one of my associates did damage or something in the same criteria in my restaurant I would put every effort towards finding out what happened and make sure none of my associates were at fault and happily communicate to the customer that I reviewed camera and cant see anything or what I see is not their account of the story. If they did it or not I'm just going to spend my money at a dealership from now on!

The insurance company made us take our car to another body shop in the area. Two days after we…read moredropped it off, they more than doubled their initial estimate. I left D&J a voicemail at 4:30 on a Friday night to get a second opinion. He called me back within 15 minutes and explained all of my options better than the other shop and the car insurance company combined. Then, on Monday, once I had seen the car and taken pictures, he gave me a $100 solution to what the other company wanted $3300 for (and should have seen in the first estimate) and said another piece they claimed needed to be fixed was structurally sound. He offered to work with me to get secondhand parts to fit within my budget if I chose to salvage the car or drop the insurance claim- and I never paid him a dime for his services! I wish I would have taken our car to D&J instead of going through insurance and the other company. They are honest, communicative and truly have the customer's best interests in mind!

I used New Bill's Autobody to perform a Maryland Safety Inspection on my vehicle. Sadly, I was not…read moreimpressed with their service, and this is not due to the fact that my car failed the first round of inspection. It is because I was told and then confirmed that I had EITHER 1,000 miles OR 30 days to fix my car and have it reinspected. However, upon my return to DJ's I was told the complete opposite by the same person. Instead of being within the 1,000 mile OR 30 day limit, one actually needed to be between within 1,000 miles AND within 30 days. As a result, I am now expected to take off more time from work to wait the obligatory two hours to have my car reinspected after I was assured that I did not have to follow both rules in order to be within the grace period after a failed inspection. But what really broke the straw was that the certified mechanic started working on another vehicle and I had to wait until he finished even though I had an appointment for that time. I cannot speak to their handiwork when it comes to repairs, but I can say, based off of my own experience, that New Bill's cannot effectively speak to their clients, and have poor customer service. And in the end they have caused a lot of wasted time and money in the long run.
