They have experienced/learned nothing regarding stem cell research due to the fact that Marquette is a religious school. COVID threw a wrench in their studies but there wasn't ANY preparation for jobs and the real world. Nothing helping them get internships whatsoever. My girls would have gone in as Jr's but Marquette doesn't accept any AP scores for credit for any classes regarding their majors, being in the "honors" program NONE of their AP scores counted for even CORE classes. Friends kids went to IIT and graduated in 4 yrs with their Masters degrees. Honors degrees mean NOTHING. I could have saved the $ by them going in as Jr's or they could have received Masters or double Majors at any other school. Forget trying to get into the dental program unless someone in the family is already a dentist or dr. Just about every student accepted into this program has a family member who is already or family has donated $$ to the school. On top of that Milwaukee is getting more and more dangerous. The Citgo gas station on State between 15th & 16th is prob one of the worst areas to be. Shootings weekly if not more often, most if the student apartments are in this area just 1/2 block south. My daughters were in a club and came out to find a crime scene roped off because someone had been shot right outside and had no clue this was going on. They had to walk two blocks through it to get to their Uber rides! Guidance counselors are a joke. Mentors are a joke. No support no guidance no help, just a minimal undergrad worth $21/hr that you can make at your local Walmart without having to spend $150k for the basically useless degree

Like previous reviews have said going here gives you connections within the City of Milwaukee, which unlike other universities in Wisconsin places you a prime job market. There's a large alumni network in the city. A Very good school for commuters, not so much for people living on campus. Speaking of which, the U lines go straight to UWM and make commuting easier, but parking is still horrible. Specifically for my program, I had some of the leading experts in my field teaching at the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, many of which ranged from experience in the job market to academia. I definitely had some memorable professors. The union cafeteria sucks, but downstairs you can go to the gasthaus and purchase beer and pub food. Also we have a division one basketball team.

But when I do go, I absolutely love it. There are 4 multi use courts for basketball, soccer, and volleyball, as well as an indoor track and ample amount of workout equipment. It can get a little crazy at certain points in the day, with various teams practicing in some spaces and the wight room can get crowded. But overall, I love the Kern Center. Now, if I could only motivate myself to go more often.

In order to gain entrance you have to either be with an alum who has a membership or a student. I haven't been to the gym part, but I heard it's really nice! The financial aid department at this school is by far the worst of any school I've attended…read more They're always losing your paperwork, can never properly submit any paperwork timely or correctly, takes forever to respond back to you, but if you owe them any bit of money, they're on you like a debt collector. Funny how my financial aid officer hasn't responded to me in a week, but when I owed $200, she was calling me 10-12 times a day. They're not financial aid officers; they're debt collectors. The school curriculum is a joke. They say that the school is geared towards he working class but there's no way a person working a full time job can keep up with 2 classes a semester. I average over 40 hours a week in coursework for 2 classes. Any time I talk about this issue, I'm constantly given excuses by the school and that I basically need to suck it up. For 40 hours a week, I can go to a UW school or MATC full-time, have less school work and pay significantly less than what Kaplan is charging. Bottom line is this....Kaplan is a for profit school and all they care about is your money. They don't care if you fail a class because you'll just have to pay to take it again. They could care less about your life because as long as they are getting paid, that's all that matters. Do yourself a favor and hit up MATC or UWM. They offer online classes, they're reputable and you won't be paying a fortune.

Took us about 40 minutes. Definitely a place to visit, with or without kids. Check on their site to see when they have exhibitions and what they are showing.
