If I could give it a 0 I would. DO NOT RENT HERE! Went to the counter and they told me that had no cars available and "had no idea when they would". The worker was rude about the whole thing and then told me I could not get a refund because I booked it through Expedia even though Expedia said to cancel with them. I called hertz and they did refund me so either she was completely unaware of what her own job entails or was being lazy. Regardless: huge a waste of time. I would recommend renting from a company off-airport to avoid the trouble since it seemed like the other companies here also did not have cars available. read more

Let me start by saying this, if you need a rental.. GO TO HERTZ! Ask for Elizabeth Przybyla!! I've rented lot of cars before but never HERTZ. I was recently in a position where I couldn't use my Go To and used HERTZ. From the moment I walked in I knew I was in the right place! Quick, easy and kind. The 3 ladies in the building were all working hard for the customers to get them on their way, I'm so thankful that we were able to meet and have the best experience ever. This certain experience helped out my family more than they know and they gained a customer for life I can tell ya! We never once had an issue, even when we had to extend and the gas mileage was pretty good considering we had a full size SUV!! I am a French citizen, black, with a French & us drivers license. I am also a hertz president circle member. I had a pickup at this location yesterday, the agent was Elizabeth, she requested my drivers license & credit card; But never acknowledged my gold membership nor status. Once given she proceeded to exit the room and stayed more than 15 minutes, I ask the other staff member what was going on: Few minutes later she returned, said she had to verify my license, as I noticed that she's pulled & damaged it to get it out the protection pouch. Then said quote "it seemed as if it had been tampered with" appalled I requested the manager. The manager (Adam Gibbs), came with more of the same racial bias, trying to show where it could have been taped etc... while laughing I asked if he's trying to insinuate that I stole someone license and added my picture? Then proceeded to state that this manner could have easily been resolved by requesting my passport: once shown to prove my identity: He laughed and asked who's credit card, I'm using cause it's clearly not my name! Appalled, I responded guest you've never been married before, but that also could have easily been resolved by requested my ID. Once everything was confirmed he turned red, and left the room. We rented a car MONTHS in advance. The day before we were to pick it up, we received an email changing the location of the pick up to another part of the city. Upon arrival we were told they had nothing & to go to the original location. They also had nothing to rent us! Basically, they did not honor our reservation & we were scrambling to find another rental before they closed (Enterprise came through for us). Would highly recommend NOT renting from Hertz. I was charged an "outside cleaning" fee of $125 for white dog hair, which I do not own, or was I around, a white dog. I also did not get my $50 deposit, so all in all, it costed me an additional $175, all because I own a black lab? When I rented, all they said was no pets in the vehicle. When I spoke to the manager, there was nothing he could do. When i made the comment that I own a black lab and basically if you own any type of dog, we shouldn't rent from them, he claimed that was not that case that most people vacuum and deep clean them prior to returning. If you do decide to rent, be sure to not own any type of pet and apparently you should deep clean inside carpets and outside of the vehicle. Worst customer service. read more

I rented a car from Hertz rental and took pictures of the damages of the car before I drove off with the car and then turn around paid them the deposit for the car and took it back to them, and they still have not refunded the money to me and I this was returned December 15. I rented the car from December 5 and yet not received any explanation why I did not get my money back. The manager said everything was good. I would not recommend Hertz to anybody because they are liars and thieves. read more

Most unprofessional experience I've ever had with a business. We reserved a car weeks before we had to road trip from Florida all the way to California for a move. We had everything planned out around this reservation. We showed up the day of departure as scheduled, and the guy in the front was just like "we don't have any cars man". I said "but we have a reservation, how does that work?". He repeated "we just don't have any cars man". No remorse, no apology, no real explanation, no coupon or something to come back later. Just left us stranded with no way to leave town as planned. Luckily we were able to find a new rental with National, and it was an amazing experience, got upgraded to a 2020 Chevy Malibu at no extra cost. If you need a rental car, try National. I'm never trusting Hertz again. read more

Last review was one star. This is the car drop off review. I'd give it no stars or a minus 5 review. As before, chaotic, disorganized and unprofessional "office" with no one in charge. Clients or apparent street people milling around aimlessly. People who might be employees with no Hertz identification or professional attire. Ratty metal unkempt desks set up behind grimy sitting area with WWII surplus chairs. Alleged employee took keys and contract but could not produce a receipt. He said he would Email it. Never arrived. PLEASE don't waste your time reserving a rental from them!! They don't have cars available, let alone ready for pickup when you arrive to the location, even after making a reservation, and are unable to tell you if/when cars will become available. They also don't do delivery/pickup, as (falsely) advertised for this particular location. Good riddance! read more

I had to get a rental car while my car was in the shop and they were very accommodating to making sure that I was handled with care. Due to dropping my car off early in the morning I wasn't sure if I would be able to get everything done before I had to be at work. On the way to dropping my car off someone from the Hertz called to confirm that my shuttled that I had scheduled should still meet me at the body shop to pick me up. This was amazing because I didn't have to call them to confirm or worry that I wouldn't have a ride to get to them. Someone picked me up in a matter of minutes of me dropping off my car and I was well on my way to getting my rental that the insurance company had reserved. Once I got there I was immediately assisted and was placed in a rental car. The only thing that I would have to say is it took them a while to get my rental gassed up and washed and ready for me to just go which resulted in me being late for work. Once everything was situated the gentlemen who was assisting me walked around the car with me noting any damages or notes about the car prior to me driving off. He was also very helpful in informing me of their gas plan as well as insurance policy if I didn't want to use my own. Once we both agreed that everything was good I electronically signed the paperwork and was well on my way. Once my car was done at the body shop I was able to return my rental with no problems and they had someone driving the shuttle ready to take me to the body shop to get my car. Although due to the circumstances of being without my car for a couple days Hertz made my experience very accommodating as if I didn't miss a beat not having my own personal car. read more

This is a criminal operation. I returned my vehicle 5 hours early! They received me at the front door. Took keys. i received my receipt: it shows I've been charged a 1hr late fee. WTF!? Nothing short of a criminal act. This is theft. And of course you can't get anyone on the phone. Never again! read more

I have been all over the world, and 3rd world places in the PI, Africa and South America has this joke of a dump beat hands down. Rude, incredibly slow service. They did not have the car I requested and charged me $27 extra per day even though it was not my fault that they did not have any cars of that type, when I booked and paid online four days in advance. When I went to return the car the woman noticed that there were a few strands of cat hair on the back seat. I told her I had had to take my cat to the emergency vet, and that I had put the cat in a carrier. The woman threatened to charge me $150 for cleaning, saying that they "would get sued because what if someone was allergic" but then said she would "go easy on me" and only charge me $25 more. This place will find more and more ways to scam you out of money. Save yourself time and money and book with enterprise or avis. read more

Horrific customer service. Walked in noticed two customers waiting patiently. Didn't see anyone at the customer service desk so I joined the waiting customers by taking a seat. After about ten minutes I engaged in conversation to inquire how long they'd been waiting. They agreed 25 - 30 minutes without any assistance. After another 5 minutes someone walked in and suggested knocking on a door to request for the manager to come help. There wasn't anyone in the room. I noticed the manager's card and gave him a ring. Meanwhile, the telephone had rung nearly ten different times and hadn't been answered. The manager answered & stated he made a trip to the bank and didn't know where his staff was but would have someone come help immediately. Another 5 minutes passed and someone who appeared to be sleep on break walked out of an office (behind the service desk) to go outside. A customer requested help and she gave attitude as she said someone will help you soon and proceeded out the door. No one came so I left. As I was departing a representative was walking in and explained he could offer the 800 number to reserve a car or I could wait to be helped. I departed and called the manager back he recommended reserving a car online, emailing the reservation number to him and he would make sure it's ready on the selected day of pick up. Usually I don't write reviews but I am just appalled at the service received. Furthermore, I felt I was asking for an unachievable request - speaking with a human being to discuss options based on my rental needs. I simply wanted to provide a business with money and that seemed far-fetched! I was looking forward to recommending this place to a friend who's looking to rent a car in two weeks, but that's no longer a thought. Check out Avis for future rental needs. read more

I had never rented from Hertz before but the insurance co. insisted on using Hertz. I thought "no problem". When I called to schedule a time to pick up the vehicle I was told they didn't have what I needed at the time. I was asked to give him time to check their other location and their records to see when they would have a vehicle and he would call me right back. 4 hrs later I called him & asked what was going on. He could barely remember the earlier conversation but he will definitely call me before the end of the day. Now it's been three days without hearing from them, I have tried to call numerous time every day but no one answers. Terrible customer service. I have now called & complained to the insurance co. so they have me set up with another rental co. I hope it goes better. read more

Absolutely terrible customer serivce!!!!! The collision center told me they would have my car till the 31st of December. When I picked up the rental the lady with the lond dreadlocks was unbelievable. She was rude and unprofessional. She acted like I wasn't even there and when she did need me for information she spoke to me like I was idiot. My car was finished on the 24th( Christmas eve). The collison center closed at 1 and when I called Hertz to return the rental they were closed at 1 as well. As we all know NOTHING is open Christmas Day. I brought the car in on the 26 and when I walked in no one was even in the building. I stood around a few mins and finally the same girl came in and asked, "what's up?" Like I was standing there for fun. I told her I was there to return the car and she just took the keys and continued to answering the phones and help the gentlemen that came in after me. After standing there awkwardly not knowing what to do, I sat down and just waited. She went outside to check the car and gas without me and came in got on her computer. Then she asked me why I keep the car for an extra two days with the most condescending attitude. I informed her of the holidays and their company hours. She said, " That's noy my problem and that will be something you have to speak with State Farm about. I'm just documenting why you decided to keep the car for two extra days." The story goes on and her rude attitude gets worse. All in all, this hertz in Tallahassee, Florida has extremely poor staffing, rude customer service. Wouldn't recomm it!!! read more
