    Hertz at Westchester County Airport is relatively easy to deal with. The Hertz counter is right in the Baggage Claim area. So I snagged my contract and keys while waiting for my bag. It's a very short walk out to the parking lot - out the door and to the left. Upon return, there was a Hertz agent in the parking lot - which actually surprised me given how small the Airport is. She processed me quickly and efficiently and I was on my way. NOTE: If you need to refuel your rental car before returning it - plan it better than I did. There are no gas stations close to the airport. Since it was my first time returning a car here - I was unaware of this. I ended up exiting the Airport and driving over to Armonk, NY - a few miles away to find a gas station.

I usually go with Avis but they were sold out and Enterprise had pretty good rates so I figured what the heck. . Upon arrival, the pick up process was very quick and easy. As I was waiting for my bags I walked like 7 steps to the Enterprise counter and within 5 mins I had the keys to the car. The car was parked down the road, about a 3 minute walk away. It was quite easy to pickup the car and be on my way. I got a decently equipped Pacifica and was very happy with it. Overall, I'm going to give them a strong 4 stars. Even though I'm a Avis fan, I'd definitely consider these guys next time.

I don't normally speak up unless something was truly wrong, and I did. My flight came in pretty close to the time I had to be at a wedding, it was raining, I am handicapped, and it was a long way to walk to get the car- so I didn't have time to go back and exchange it for another vehicle. As soon as I opened the vehicle it smelled musty and of cigarette smoke. Regardless of the weather the brakes in the car were more sensitive than getting used to a car would be, and it was raining and the windshield wipers were not very effective. I informed the gentleman of my experience, and I explained that I even took it to the car wash to use the fragrance and vacuum to try to get the smell out- I even opened coffee bean packages to try to absorb the smell- everywhere I drove I had to keep putting the windows down to breathe and got a terrible headache. The manager came out immediately, apologized and took care of the manner immediately! I was so grateful! Every time I come to visit my family I fly through HPN and always use Enterprise, and I was so glad they addressed this and had wonderful customer experience! Will use next time! Thank-you!

    This was honestly the worst car rental experience I've ever had…read more No one answers the phone no matter how many times you call which makes it basically impossible to get any help or even simple questions answered. When I finally dealt with the manager in person, they were extremely unprofessional and just straight up rude. There was zero sense of customer service and it felt like helping customers was the last thing they wanted to do. What's even more frustrating is that this kind of experience makes the whole Enterprise name look bad. You expect a certain level of service, and this location completely misses the mark. At the end of the day, this comes down to management. The way this place is run is unacceptable, and it clearly reflects poor leadership. I would definitely recommend going somewhere else.

But as comfortability...I'd recommend to be more cushions and a minor adjustment to the seats. The entertainment system is fine(can't go wrong with an APPLE CARPLAY feature). But the only change is the placement of the USB port and a safer place to place your mobile phone. Joe my sales person most definitely gave me THE CUSTOMER SERVICE experience. He was(is) professional, pretty much knew what he was talking about and just was good. I mean when I see someone who has a great work ethic and can maintain patience with a calm pace while being busy during midday...yeah he knows how to DO HIS JOB as the boss! I'm currently traveling back for my father's funeral with my baby, and seeing Harold again was a small but meaningful bright spot during a very heavy time. I also accidentally gave him my red Macy's card instead of my actual red credit card, he was so nice about it and we had a good laugh. (my eyesight went when I was pregnant with my baby girl, which makes some things challenging for me when my glasses are not accessible). He is truly kind, personable, and professional. His customer service is exceptional, and he represents Budget in the best possible way. He is a big reason why I continue to choose Budget for both my personal and business travel.

First, the gas charge. I returned the car with a full tank. Like, topped off, receipt-worthy full. And somehow they still slapped me with a gas charge that looked like they refueled a private jet. I've seen less blatant cash grabs at a carnival. Then came the "extension" disaster. I needed the car for a couple extra days, so sure, I expected the daily rate to be higher than my original booking. Annoying, but fine. Except that wasn't enough for them. They added another random $20 fee on top of the already-inflated extension rate... and then, because why not, a late fee too. It's like every extra day unlocks a new surprise charge. And the cherry on top: when you try to get answers, you get the corporate shrug. The management was completely unhelpful, dismissive, and acted like I was the problem for expecting basic fairness and accurate billing. This isn't "oops, a mistake." This is a pattern. If you enjoy being nickel-and-dimed with mystery fees and leaving frustrated, this is your spot. If you value your time and money, rent literally anywhere else.

After arriving in White Planes NY we got our luggage and then went over to get in line. The line was already longer than the other places. We stood there for a few, and then a few more. No one was moving one person was working the counter and was taking forever. Three other people were waiting who had already gone through the line and were waiting for them to bring the car up still. The line moved by one person and the other person was up there for at least 30 mins. She was only taking a black car nothing else would work. Really lady kets hole up the line because you want a black car. Why do you need a black car for real, anyway we finally got up to the counter and then went through all the normal stuff. Then they told us that they had to still clean the car and then bring it around. In total, we were there for over an hour to rent a car that was already reserved ahead of time. This was just ridiculous and for someone who is autistic, it was a huge challenge, as well as all the other people that were getting super upset that they also were having to wait for a car this just added to the overstimulating situation that was happening. There has to be a better way to do this that is not so disorganized. Like, Have the customers meet you out in the garage to get their car or talk on the phone when and where to bring the car up. It was not a great way to start or vacation off in NY.

    I just rented an "Exotic class" Mercedes "S" class car, paying about $250/day, and had problems…read morewith the tires which did not stay inflated. The National roadside assistance (seemingly outsourced to a company called Urgently) was useless. We almost froze to death (13 degrees outside). They said they were dispatching a tow truck and uber for us. Neither arrived. We called back numerous times. Useless. Then they said National was "taking ove the case" and I should call the local office at Westchester County Airport but they NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE despite multiple attempts and trying all of the options provided. Back on the phone with various general phone numbers for National. Hard to get people and, most don't speak English well and seem to have little capability to do anything. I have always liked National because of their staff but this experience is the opposite. Their chat service doesn't work at night! What could be cheaper than manning a chat service at night? And they don't do it. I will never ever rent an expensive car like this through National. They don't have the capacity to manage it. Not to mention this whole experience is ruining a vacation.

The guy working the counter seemed to be rushed and not very personable with his approach to customer service. Then when I got outside to get in my car, the folks working the lot had renters bringing cars back stacked up in front of the cars that were being picked up, so a few of us had to wait a while for them to jockey cars around to free up the aisle so I could get out. During this process, I watched the lot guy hit another car and bend the bumpers on both, I sure hope they don't try to blame that on the previous renter! Overall - Poor service and logistics at this location.
