The branch manager at this location David Marin was a lifesaver. Had some issues with my car and booked a rental last minute, then had some issues with getting to the location with uber. I called hertz and David said he would wait for a bit after hours since I was stressing. Once I got there he was friendly and helpful. Will be renting from this location more. read more

Horrible service! They said we were going to give us a call back within two hours for a rental, this was in person (just before lunch hr). Called just before closing to get an update since no follow up call was made. Nothing yet had been taken care of, no courtesy call was made to inform us there was no vehicles available for the day. They once again obtained our information even after we provided all that information with the first contact we made in person. Had an accident in the morning so needed a vehicle ASAP. read more

This current Hertz rental team at the Salinas Airport location with David are outstanding. The bad reviews are from older employees not working there anymore. I have had to rent a car twice now in this month of July for various reasons and David really made all of it painless for me while providing super great (and fast) service. On my first rental, the office was busy with multiple customers picking up cars at the same time. All of us were handled smoothly even while many phone calls were coming in. David politely answered quick questions on the phones and then put them on hold to focus on us there at the rental desk. Both cars I rented were in great clean condition too. I reserved the manager's choice vehicle and was assigned very nice vehicles both times. Much appreciated. When I came back to return the cars, it was quick and easy too. HORRIBLE SERVICE. DO NOT RELY ON THEM, THEY LEAVE YOU HANGING!! I secured a reservation online for a family trip and received a confirmation call 2 days prior but when I went to pick it up, they were CLOSED (on a Friday mid morning) and the sign indicated they should have been open. I called corporate toll free number and they were of no help and couldn't explain why that location was closed. I had to cancel and request a refund because I drove 30 minutes to get to Salinas and already wasted an hour of travel time...I wasn't trying to drive further out to see if their Seaside location could assist. THANKFULLY ENTERPRISE was across the street and their awesome team was able to accommodate me quickly AND THEY WERE MORE COST-EFFECTIVE. NEVER USE HERTZ. read more

If I could choose 0 stars I would. We expressed to Dave when we talked to him last Saturday the importance of the specific vehicle we requested, as our vacation depended on it. We left feeling confident after he assured us we'd get the vehicle we requested. I got the run around trying to rent a vehicle on Tuesday from him for the weekend. I was told by Dave that the rentals wouldn't be available until more towards the weekend. He did not call back, nor did he check the vehicles to see if they had the vehicle we were looking for. I called the Monterey location only to learn they rented everything yesterday. Dave was of no use to us and displayed little interest in quality customer service. I went to Enterprise and I'm now getting what I want. I only went to Hertz for my AAA discount. Not worth it in my opinion. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. Made reservation online for Labor Day weekend, received email confirmation for the car, showed up to find the location closed for the whole holiday weekend. No email, no phone call, just straight up don't care. Hertz will never be getting another dime from me. read more

Went in to pick up the vehicle I reserved at the time I reserved it. No vehicle available for 2 hours... can't do that, have to work. Changed it for the next day. Called them this time to double check so I didn't waste my time and they straight up lied to me saying they called me earlier and spoke to me about no car available. Which means they have mine away or overbooked. Complete garbage! Stay away! read more

I was told that another vehicle may or may not be ready more than six hours later... No remorse, no sorry, no attempt to make it better... These places hiring these kids with no manners... Zero stars isn't enough for this place. Only went through this because of insurance and will never go to it again. They never have cars in stock. They're too lazy to pick up the phone. No one ever gets shit down here apparently. I've been calling since Wednesday to get a car because mine goes to the shop but I have make an appointment for cars they can't guarantee let alone have in stock. I'm still left car less after a week when my car is barely drivable at this point. Never coming to this place again. Enterprise is the way to go. read more

I wanted to reach out on behalf of my elderly mother. You have an amazing employee that goes above and beyond! This young lady's name is Cortney Aguilar. She helped my mother when her car died by taking her to the closest location even though she wasn't working at the time and in her personal car. my mother said you can tell she was sick with a cough and warn down but she didn't let that stop her. She proceeded to make sure my mother was safe and comfortable till they got to the rental place. This young lady is amazing and I can't thank her enough. I had the hardest time trying to get through to someone by phone. I got into a car accident and was trying to make arrangements to have a shuttle pick me up from the auto shop where I was leaving my vehicle. I called right when they opened and kept getting a busy tone, it was that way for over a hour. Once the phone finally did ring no one answered! I had to physically walk in to get service and when I did walk in I wasn't greeted by staff or told "I'll be right with you". Glad the insurance paid and nothing was out of my pocket because the service was not satisfactory to say the least. read more

I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt. People call in sick and things get busy, but this was not the case and the ball was dropped too many times for me to conclude that this experience was anything but blatant incompetence. Put on hold for too long and then finally asked for my # so I could be called back "in a few minutes", never called back after 30 minutes, so called back and put on hold again. Called back and pleaded not to be put on hold again, but was told that he was alone and then put me on hold again! After all this back and forth it took 5 seconds to give him my name, what body shop I needed my car dropped at and what time. Later, at the body shop an extra hour was spent waiting because the rental car was a no-show. Body shop had to call them and tell them to send a car. Then it turned out the plates are expired on the rental car! Called the office back and they said the person I talked to that morning wasn't alone that morning and that "everyone was there, but maybe the others were outside prepping cars". Several hours wasted on a simple task, leaving the customer stranded. Never, ever again, Hertz. read more
