They charged my kid an additional fee of nearly $200 for being under 25 AFTER he returned the car. He didn't even know about the fee. We were given a receipt charging $441. Then he gets charged $699 to his credit card. When he went to find out why, the lady at the counter said "oh we forgot to put that on the original invoice." You forgot $200??? So I call the customer service line. 20 minutes on hold at 9:00am. I talked to a guy who explained that's our policy sorry nothing I can do. I can understand forgetting $50, $20 maybe even $100 but to forget $200 knowing the kid is under 25 because you have a copy of his license in your hand, and you forget??? The guy on the phone just kept saying "nothing I can do", how is that customer service. If you are in the business of service, don't you think it's a good idea to provide service, admit when you screw up, and make it right? This company will never get my business.

Received a call the day prior to my vehicle pick up date, informing me I couldn't have the size vehicle I need. This was a problem due to how much baggage my family and I had. My License was also denied even though through PENDOT it does not expire due to active military status. The process was extremely stressful due to last minute changes that were completely unexpected. Not worth the trouble I recommend using a different rental company.

I opted for the Trax. I was told it was being prepped, the wait would be a 1/2 hour. At thirty five minutes into the wait, I inquired about the car. I was told the oil was being changed, and the tires were being rotated. Wait, what?! That's not prepping, that is scheduled maintenance being performed off site that could take hours. After an hour, the manager disappeared into the back. I finally tracked down a car salesman who told me the car is at an offsite service center and someone went to get it. We are still waiting as I write this. What a crazy way to run a business. UPDATE: Bobby, the manager at this location figured it out. He found us another car, genuinely apologized, several times, and got us on the road. Nicely done, Bobby, nicely done.

The time had come for me to buy a new car…read more I dreaded the process. I pulled onto the lot of a nearby new car dealership and immediately felt trapped. I could see the sharks inside - eyeing me up. They were just waiting for me to stop so they could attack. I left. Cruising down Lancaster Avenue I saw John's Great Cars. I have heard their radio ads for a long time and drove onto the lot. Salesman Jim was in the lot and smiled and waved. He didn't rush us as most dealers do. He came over and asked what I was looking for and pointed our two options. I immediately loved the one. I asked for the lowest price and what they offered was fair and a great deal. Everyone in the process was laid back, honest and amazing. They couldn't have been nicer. John was outside washing cars. While the owner of a used car lot in Reading isn't on the same social strata as a king or president of a country it was nice to see that the owner was humble and a working man. We will 100% return here for a future car. Without a doubt. PS: After getting home we noticed a TINY nick in the windshield. Called John's and they immediately said to bring it by anytime and they will fix it. Customer service = excellent.
