If I could rate this place as a "0" I would. I should have known better after our last experience with this Hertz location, almost 7 years ago when they did us wrong. I have a review on that experience also posted. Any lazy person not wanting to exert themselves, this is the place to work! Absolutely no consequences if you don't do your job professionally! AND GUESS WHAT? THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE DIDN'T CARE AGAIN AFTER I REACHED OUT TO THEM and HAD NO INTEREST IN TRYING TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT BY AT LEAST MAYBE OFFERING US A FREE RENTAL IN THE FUTURE OR SOMETHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!!! Here is the story of what happened to us! We had a big move from Texas to Florida. I meticulously organized the entire move for our large family. Right down to creating a reservation with Hertz back in NOVEMBER 2025 for a 15-passenger van. To my surprise and disappointment, not once, did we receive a call, email or text from Hertz advising us that they did not have the vehicle we reserved and mind you, we reserved it 3-months prior to walking into the Hertz office to pick it up. However, we did find out, that day that we went to pick up this vehicle by two extremely unprofessional, unpleasant and EXTREMELY LAZY employees. Especially, the female employee who sat on her a$$ avoiding having to exert herself most of the time we were there. Since they did not have our 15-passenger van, we were told they could give us (2) electric 7-passenger vans in its place. While, I was not completely sold on this idea, We asked how to use these type vehicles, as we have never used an electric car before, and the lazy A$$ girl says, "I don't know." EXCUSE ME! How does a car rental agent not know the answer but yet, you offer these type vehicles. Do you believe that U-Haul in Katy, didn't have the size truck we requested, so we not only got a call and email from them advising us of this, but a text too, letting us know we could get the vehicle that we did want at another location and for the inconvenience, they would cut bill in half. CRAZY, RIGHT! Hmmm! Why can they be professional but not Hertz? But wait, it gets better!!!! I had also arranged for a car rental from 1/21-1/31 that I paid $86 more for an upgrade on. However, when there, I was told they didn't have that car either, that we upgraded and paid for, so we needed to settle for a smaller SUV and the only price difference was $4 less. How is that even possible? The original car that we were going to get before upgrade was the same type car they were offering. $86 vs $4. I had also used Affirm for this car rental like we have done so many times when renting cars at other rental agencies (Budget, Enterprise, Dollar, etc.). However, the male rep told me to tap the card. I explained this was paid for by Affirm and that they provided me with a digital credit card that he would need to enter it manually. He said he couldn't do that. This is ludicrous as many bank cards don't have the capability of tapping either. My personal bank credit or debit card doesn't have the ability to tap. It's a small bank. Not every card has this feature. The employees acted as if we didn't matter! They were rude, lazy and unprofessional! Hertz left us scrambling last minute for two new rentals! Thankfully, Enterprise was there to help us and what a great experience! Courteous, professional and NOT LAZY staff at all!!!! Do you realize how much money Hertz lost from us for these two rentals. However, Enterprise was more than happy to take it from us and we were happy to pay. Hertz needs to improve on who they hire. Stop hiring lazy, rude a$$ and unprofessional staff. Educate them and for God's Sake, contact customers if you don't have the vehicles. Personally, I believe these two staff members should be fired! They lost Hertz business and they don't deserve the paycheck! They just didn't care about doing their job or taking care of the customer. In conclusion, if Enterprise didn't have a 15- passenger van, we would have been in a world of hurt. Thank God they came through for us!!!!! Budget has also been amazing when ever we deal with them. We won't even give Hertz a third chance. They have lost our business and a lot of business as we travel a lot. Good riddens!! read more

Worst Rental Experience! I wish I could give them negative stars, that's how bad my experience was. I have a confirmation for a rental and received both a reminder of the confirmation the day prior to pick up via text and email messaging. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle no one greeted us when we walked in. The representative at the mumbled that they did not have my rental and refused to offer any assistance. To make matters worse, Hertz's customer service is non existent. I see why the store representatives are rude and incompetent, because the customer care team is like that as well. We book a minivan, but when we got there- they did not have a van or any 7 seater. Why am I allowed to book for something they don't have? No other sites does this. So I ask them to cancel my reservation while I am there, because the app would not let me cancel. He said I would have to call the 1-800 number to cancel el my reservation. So I call to cancel my reservation, the lady said she can rebook the van for me at the Westheimer location and reassure me that they have a van for me. We drove another 20 mins out to pick it up and was told they didn't have one. They said that the cars are not updated in real time. The guy at Westheimer said booking within 24 hrs is standby status and etc... I never had problems before until coming to Katy/Houston Texas. Usually my app would said not available if it's not available to book. I am highly disappointed with the 2 hertz locations in Texas. Very disappointed. Worst car rental experience of my life. If you're contemplating renting with hertz, thrifty or dollar DO NOT do it. Picked up the vehicle it was dirty inside and out and they said they weren't able to even wash the outside. Looked like someone spilt a milkshake in the back and there were ants all over the inside of the car. Not to mention one of the tires went flat within 30 minutes of getting it. No one answered at the pick up location in Katy so I give the choice to drive the car all the way to Houston airport or Austin... I was headed to San Antonio. Finally got them to allow me pick up a new car in San Antonio. This is after of course waiting to get a spare tire put on and taking it to a maintenance shop so they can patch the tire. Get to San Antonio and they wouldn't take the vehicle. Stating I took it to an unauthorized dealer and they have no record of me getting a new car. Had to spend a bunch of time on the phone with customer service then the airport location finally got everything they needed and apologized and said I o longer owed all the additions they were previously going to charge me. New car was great (so I thought) it was at least clean on the inside and out however the next day again a flat tire. Because it was drivable they have me go to another shop. It took forever for maintenance to approve the transaction then the Hertz maintenance worker asked if I had time to get a complete inspection, oil change and a few other things done on the vehicle since I was there. WTF ... I'm like am I on Hertz payroll now? Am I getting paid for this or at least a discount or a free rental since I'm now spending more than half my vacation getting their vehicles fixed... nope nothing. Worst ever. This is now the third time renting with a hertz and each time has been horrible. And each time has resulted in me having to pick up another vehicle out of my way. Third time is NOT a charm. I've rented so many times with enterprise and have never had this experience. Worst part went to drop it off. Was told that they are closed because the person went home early then a random valet dude was like I'll drive it below with the rest of the hertz vehicles... I love Hertz, but this has to be the worst location on the planet. It's almost like that pick and choose here. You can book a week or a month in advance and you are still rolling the dice. I have been told on 4 different occasions that my 1-2 week early booking is not available. They don't answer the phone to allow you to check prior to arriving. The rental car was not cleaned before I rented it and the previous driver had left bloody boogers on the dash and on the car door. After I cleaned it up I realized that I should have taken some pictures so I could leave a photo for you to see how disgusting this car was. Gabby also did some "Hocus pocus" with the rate that I was quoted online, added insurance and an "additional charge" for the car upgrade that I didn't request. They had called and left a message yet we had confirmation in app, and text confirmation to go to store to pick up vehicle. I've dealt with Hertz off and on for work for almost 8 years and this was by far the worst experience I've had. We went through insurance for our rental and we had a vehicle for 19 days. At first the vehicle I received was too small and my knees hit the dash so I got the approval for an upgrade. I did this with the insurance agent on the phone and while I stood in front of the agent who helped us at hertz. I was easily approved and everything was good until the lady at hertz told me she can't give me an upgrade because it's not covered by insurance. Mind you I was on the phone with the insurance and put her on speaker phone. My insurance told the lady I was approved for the max and could get any vehicle I wanted and it would be covered. That's when the young lady stated well I don't know how to approve this and I would just need to pay out of pocket and send my receipts to the insurance for reimbursement. It literally blew my mind. We were stuck in a bind - the truck we were planning to purchase wasn't ready so we had to get a rental. We Yelped the nearest place near us and found this location. I did everything online - booked the rental and entered credit card info. When we arrived, we were greeted by Gabrielle. All she needed was the cc number and she got us our car in about 10-15 minutes -- quick and easy. She gave us her contact number. We were heading in the long weekend - Jan 1st 2024 so she let us know if we needed to extend the rental, we just let her know the next afternoon by 1 pm. We soon found out we had to extend, gave her a call and our rental was extended! They provided us the cost to extend. On the morning we returned the car, we went in and she recognized us and greeted us with a smile and wave, as she was on the phone. We gave her the key and she asked how the rental was and if we got our car. Yes, indeed! Everyone there was nice and helpful- I'm glad we went to this location. Do not rent from this place m. They did not have my rental ready. Made me wait for 1 hr. Even though I declined all services, insurance and roadside when I made my reservation, they slipped road side service onto my rental agreement. I never choose this or any others due to requirements from my employer, yet the clerk, Miss Jackson added it on. The funny thing is there was another gentlemen there that was disgruntled for the same exact issue. I should have checked my record more thoughtfully but I spend 1,000's every year using them for over ten years. Worst Hertz location ever...and I've been to over 100 of them. I am a gold member. I am so disappointed at this location. They waited until I showed up to inform me that they dont have the car that I reserved several weeks ago and they dont know when they will have it. What is reservation for then? Both staff members could not do anything except telling me to call to a number to make a reservation at another time or cancel to get refund and they could not do anything for me at site. They did not even try to search the system to see availability nearby, but instead telling me to drive to airport which is 1 hour away. I had to call the number myself to cancel. This this message is from my daughter. So where do I begin? It all started on April 12th when I initially went to go pick up a vehicle due to me being in a car accident. I made a reservation but there were NO cars available although the website stated that there were. I attempted to go to another location but was unsuccessful so I had to end up canceling my reservation altogether. That Sunday I reserved another vehicle and on Monday, April 15th I was successful in getting a vehicle. The person who helped me out was Gabby who was nothing short of amazing. Her customer service was great. I understand that there was a lot going on, but she handled all with great professionalism and customer service. Now here is the part where Gabby's great efforts will be overshadowed. I returned the vehicle on August 29 at 5p as scheduled. They were close to closing. Soon after leaving I realized I left my 3 Shipt bags (2 purple insulated bags and one accordion black bag). So I immediately called the location at 5:39p but the message stated that location was closed. So the very next morning I called at 8:02a, 8:11a, 8:17a, 8:23a and finally at 8:33a when Dominique answered the phone. I wanted to confirm the '23 Tahoe I returned had not been checked out to anyone. I told her that I had left some bags in the back of the vehicle that I needed. She placed me on hold and told me she would look. When she got back on the phone she stated there was only a black bag. I informed her there should've been two purple bags as well and she stated there weren't any purple bags there. I told her I was on my way. I get there and she hands me the black bag only. Now remember I wasn't confirming that the bags were there I was confirming the vehicle hadn't been rented. So Dominique proceeds to say she can unlock the vehicle so I can look for the bags. She unlocked the vehicle knowing those bags were not there. I go back into the store and at that time Jabari, which is the store manager and Dominique is sitting there and I tell them if the black bag was here then the two other bags should be with it because I KNOW for a FACT that I left all three bags yesterday. Jabri, which is the store manager looked me dead in my face and asked me what items were in the bags. I never said anything about items being in any of the bags. His questioning wasn't clear and I could feel myself getting very upset. I had just explained to the BOTH of them that this wasn't a question of whether or not the bags were there but a question of where are the other two bags? Jabari stated that if the black bag was left, then the other two bags would've been left, and if the other two bags were not left, then that means that the bags were not there. That's where even more of my frustration came into play because he was saying the bags couldn't have been there. Although he kept repeating he heard and understood what I was saying he was still discrediting the fact that I know I left three bags. To sum it all up, the Katy Mason location is full of liars and thieves. I'm not sure if the driver who moved my vehicle took the bags, but one thing that I do know for certain is that someone at the Katy Mason location stole my bags. They are thieves, and they are liars and they know who took my bags. If you choose to do business with them please be sure to triple and quadruple check your vehicle to remove all items because if you leave anything behind they will take it. I know beyond the shadow of a doubt I left those items in the vehicle and the fact that one of the three was left behind further confirmed that this location stole two of my items. I'd give them negative stars if I could. On Monday November 7th I booked a rental through hertz after being involved in a car accident. I attempted to exchange the car the same day due to the tire light and the maintenance required pop up on the dashboard. I was told they didn't have anything else. That I'd be put on a list to reserve a replacement as soon as something became available. After a having to fill the tire every morning. I literally called until I guess I got on there nerves and was told I could call another store to see if they had a car. I went almost an hour away from my home found a car only to be told they couldn't do the exchange because some one in the store I originally got my rental from had my ticket Open for whatever reason. I called the store and they still didn't close the ticket. I had been there for hours and eventually left with the same defective car. I was told I could take the car to have the tire plugged. I sat at a tire shop for another two hours before being told I'd have to pay out of pocket for the plug because they have such an issue with getting payment from hertz . I did it cause what else was I going todo. The second problem is I originally booked the car for 29 days. I was told later on that they only authorized 6 days cause apparently he didn't think it would go through. (Not sure if that comment was racially based or if that's just another part of the scam) So I had to call every few days to extend the rental because supposedly their system wouldn't do more than a few days at a time. My last attempt to extend the rental didn't go through and I was never notified. I was contacted by the recovery department and threatened. I work 12-16 hour a day 7 days a week so of course I'm at work during their business hours. So I was told if there's no drop box to leave the key in the gas tank and leave the car unlocked. I did so on the 7th of December. I was called on the 13th and was threatened again and told that the car needed to be returned. Upon being able to prove that I returned the car they lied and said they car was locked and that I'd be charged for it until they could get it out of the gas tank. I've repeatedly called trying to speak with a manager and have been told she's not available. I've also emailed ms Dallas and have received no response. My most recent problem is that there have been 3 additional charges on my card since then and no one in the customer service department can explain what they are for or why my card is being charged repeatedly. So instead of being charged $1,140 I was charged over $1600 and in still currently being charged for whatever else they can come up with. The whole staff is pretty feisty over the phone.. read more

Oh em gee. Great customer service here! We rented a car and decided to return it a day early. Driving around the area was difficult as we were not familiar with Texas. Ryan took care of us and he was quick and efficient. But the best part was he ordered a Lyft for us, basically offering us a ride back! Now that is what I call great customer service! Worst experience in 20 yrs renting cars. I would give a zero ranking if possible.. I arrived to the location and they didn't have the size of car I paid for. Instead they only offered me the lower class car. I asked the person to do what is correct and I was yelled at. They refused to help with the situation. Everyone said he was the manager. I was only offered the option to get the upper size but only if I pay the difference. I ended up paying no difference.
