Agent gave me the choice of cars and assigned me a very low mileage clean car I was thankful for. When I returned the car the other Agent was just as helpful. Great people were working here when I rented and returned. --- Had a problem using the Toll Device on the car--took that up with corporate and they refunded me one service charge. The device is supposed to charge you only one service charge in a 24 hour period--not a calendar day but the software was charging me a service charge for each day and not waiting 24 hours to charge. Careful driving over NYC Bridges and Tunnels with the device--For example--The Whitestone Bridge does not recognize it and will charge you the same much higher price as if you did not have a device. NYC has all these tricks to get more money out of you. Every-time I drive in NYC they find a way to charge me more money for something.

At the counter, the agent offered me a Suburban for $50 more per day, and I took it. After one day my mother couldn't climb into it, so I filled the tank and swapped it for a smaller car the next day. My bill should have been $519.15. Avis charged me $1,586.65. That's more than three times my booking, and $647.93 more than Avis's own e-receipt. I went back to the counter and asked for a refund. They told me it would be credited to my account in five business days. It never was. One employee told me, "Corporate Avis doesn't care what we do here, and they will not help you." When I disputed the charge with my card company, Avis sent them a receipt for the full $1,586.65 as if nothing was wrong. They took advantage of a bad situation, then broke their own promise to fix it. I will never rent from this location again. If you have to rent here, turn down the upgrade, get every price in writing, and check your card statement the day you return the car.

I picked up the car with zero hassles and was in and out very quickly. When I was dropping off the car it was a little bit harder. In the past when I have rented cars there is a drop off area and it was easy peezy. With Avis i had to park the car and then go into the rental pavilion to drop off the keys. On another note there was no one that checked the car immediatly to make sure there was no issues. I did not like that part at all as I do not want them getting back to me in a month if they all of a sudden found something. Overall the experience was good an I would rent from Avis again. The staff where nice and friendly.

I guarantee if I was white they woulda found a way to accept my chime card. With a checking and savings account, there was NO WAY my reservation should have been declined. We were there for 3 1/2 hours before we finally got towed which cost us $190.00 then we got to Butegt at LaGuardia where we waited in a line for about an hour or so to get to talk to someone to get another car. When we did get to talk to the woman she was not sure what to do but lucky for us another guy heard what happened to us & he got us another car to finish our trip. Both cars we got had very high mileage Budget may be less money than other agencies not sure. But I can tell you I will never use them again!
