Kristin is a star. I was trying to find a 1 way rental out of South Carolina for a trip to Atlanta and no dealer or rental agency was willing to help to find an available car. One actually cancelled my prepaid 1-way rental booking while I was standing at the counter to pick-up my ride. I have used this specific store twice due to warranty work trough car dealership. Both times I have had to wait to pick up the rental because there was no one in store (1st was employees personal business & 2nd both ladies had to make an "airport run") granted I had appointments to pick up both times and had to wait almost/over an hour each time. I had to take time from work for this privilege. Employees were nice and got me out quickly once I was helped. My deposit was held, for a cleaning fee. The car wasn't fully clean when I got it, but I had been sitting to long waiting to have made them clean it (again?). I even vacuumed it out before returning it. I didn't have to pay for the actual rental is the only reason I didn't raise cane. read more

The guy that picked me up... Called me and told me he was waiting out side, when he saw us coming out, he got out and opened and closed our doors... Opened the door and held it each time we went in or out of the store. They were very nice and accommodating! (This was a text I received from my wife.) Thank you Hertz for taking that special effort to show kindness, don't see that a lot anymore. I would give 5 stars but after arriving home from work I notice how dirty the car was. Yes it was vacuumed and picked up, but the arm rest was all brown in the car, the seats also looked a mess and you couldn't see out the front for the heavy heavy film. Service is great, but need to do a little better job on cleaning. read more

Sent there by my insurance company, a miscommunication resulted in them not having a vehicle for me when we arrived. The Assistant Manager, Tre, worked out a way to get us a vehicle by 9:00 am the next morning. They made it good. read more

On 6/9/18 I made an online reservation to rent a small SUV for 10 days, picking up on 6/29/18 at 10:00AM. On 6/12/18 I went to the rental location and spoke with agents to confirm that they had received my reservation and to explain that due to my asthma, the rental SUV must not have any smoke odor. I was told that smoking in Hertz vehicles is forbidden and it would not be a problem. I was also told to call about an hour before the vehicle is needed and someone would pick me up. At 9:00AM on 6/29/18 I called and was told that they did not have a reservation for me. Then, after finding my reservation, I was told that this is a busy time of year to get a car. I told him that that was exactly why I made my reservation 20 days in advance then went to their location to confirm it. He said that they did not have a small SUV, and asked if I would accept a smaller car. I own a smaller car, I needed a small SUV! Someone called me back at 10:00AM saying that they still didn't have my rental but they're working on it and will call me back later. At 3:00PM, after not hearing anything from Hertz, I drove to their location. While en route I received a phone call from them saying that they had my rental. I arrived at the location about 4 minutes after the call, completed the paperwork, had the agent follow me back to my home (he drove the rental), then I drove him back to the Hertz office. When I was finally able to leave on my trip 6 hours later than planned, upon turning on the air conditioning I was dismayed at the onslaught of stale cigarette smoke. Because of my asthma, I had to keep the back windows open the entire 1370 mile trip and use my asthma rescue medication often. Upon returning the SUV I was charged $39 for the "free" Sirius radio and given a $20 discount for the inconvenience of the 6 hour delay. Fortunately, the Sirius charge was removed when I called the Hertz location about it. Although the SUV was comfortable (except for the stale cigarette smoke), fuel efficient, and reliable, I will not rent from Hertz again. read more

I waited almost an hour for my car the day I came in. I returned my rental car almost a month ago and still had my deposit pending on my bank account. I called at least 5x and was told my account was successfully closed and to expect the money in a couple days. Every time I was told that. Except the last when I was told "Oh you're account just closed yesterday so expect the money soon." So what about those other times? STILL didn't have the money back. I finally called again yesterday and spoke to Anna or Anne or whoever who promised to call me back - no call. Surprise. I finally called their corporate office and got it resolved. I plan to file a formal complaint with their corporate office tomorrow. Terrible customer service. Under staffed. No follow through. Will not be back and I'll be sure to tell everyone to use a different rental company. read more

I would give it a zero star but that wasn't an option. Worst customer service by manager trainee Ari. Called State Farm weeks ago to get my car rental for when my car goes into the shop and we would need a rental. Well I called Monday to confirm our reservation and I was told to call the following day an hour before I came to get the car so they could get it ready. I did this and he told me I would need to call back again because he was not in the office, which is weird since I called their main line. Instead of calling for the 3rd time I decided to just go up there since Phone communication was not working. We get there, the door is is locked, but Ari lets us in only to inform us they have no cars. We ask about other Hertz in the area and he said they were all out of cars. Strange a car rental place didn't have any cars. And this would have been nice to know when I spoke with them on the phone. We will never be using them again. We went up to Enterprise and they were able to accommodate us right away. read more

When my vehicle was rear-ended, State Farm set everything up for my rental. When I called Hertz a few minutes later, everything was in the system and the had someone come pick me up within an hour. They knew exactly what was covered by my insurance and had me out the door in no time. I switched cars the next day because I thought a Juke would be easier for my kids to get in and out of at school, but I couldn't get the seats in a position where every bump didn't aggravate the whiplash. Once again, Hertz understood my concerns and allowed me to switch vehicles to a Rogue that will be comfortable for me and my kids. If they had six stars as an option, I would select it for their outstanding customer service! (from my google review) read more
