I really appreciate how awesome this location is. We had reserved a Toyota Rav4 for an out of town trip. Unfortunately, when we went to pick it up, it wasn't there. They staff recommended a Dodge Grand Caravan instead and told us it would have more room for our Service Dogs. I'm completely anti-van, but it was there and I wouldn't have to return in a few hours to pick up the one I reserved. I'm glad they did the upgrade for us. Not only did it have more than enough room for 2 adults and an 11 y/o, but I fell in love with the stow-away seating. Our Service Dogs are 140 lbs, 80 lbs, and 50 lbs. We stowed the Captain's seats and left the back bench up for my son to sleep on. The dogs had plenty of room to stretch out and sleep on our trip. They even told us not to worry about the dog hair that would inevitably get shed on a total of 18 hour round-trip journey. We did worry about it and took measures to make sure it was as clean as we could possibly get it before we returned it. I think they were so thankful that we did clean it that they ended up comping our mileage overage. I 100% recommend them and will be going back if the need arises. read more

Reserved a cargo van online days in advance. Charged $400 online. Got a confirmation that the van was "available for pickup when you are" on the morning of the pickup. Drive to the location for pickup. Immediately told that all vans are "blocked" and are only available for Amazon deliveries. Absolutely no reasonable effort made or explanation given as to why our reservation was confirmed and listed as ready for pickup. No other options other than to drive an additional 1.5 hours out of our way to a different location. Do NOT book anything through Hertz! read more

Had a reservation for over a week, and went into the hertz rental car location to pick up the car and little to my surprise the location didn't have any vehicles and they didn't have the curtesy or decency to call any of the people who had reservation that day and tell them they won't be getting their rental on the day of a holiday weekend. I drove rental from Charlotte NC to Marquette MI. I ran car through local car wash before returning car. To my surprise I was charged $400 for exterior cleaning. Update: I never went back to them to rent a car again. I've actually made it a point to warn people about their... "business practices." Well, a friend of mine recently used them (they had no choice as it was due to an accident and the other parties insurance chose the rental car) and literally had the exact same issues I did with getting hit with random charges for no explainable reason. This was at a whole different location too so I'm convinced they are just greedy and fraudulent as a whole (those business practices I was talking about.) Unless you like getting slapped with random fees days and weeks later, don't get a car from them. There's so many other BETTER options. read more

This is the most poorly run, unprofessional rental agency I have ever experienced. Not only did I have to wait an hour beyond my reservation time to actually receive my car, but they penalized me with a late fee when I brought it back ON TIME, because of this hour discrepancy (even though the "agent" went out of his way to tell me that I could bring it back anytime before close because of this inconvenience and it was all good). After bringing the mistake to his attention, he swore his hands were tied and there was nothing he could do, when he should have offered to call call corporate and straighten things out (because corporate doesn't answer consumer calls, and this is not an exaggeration. They'll indefinitely put you on hold). They don't clean the cars; they just grab the keys and pass them along to the next person (I witnessed this happen while I waited). Gold member status means absolutely nothing. In fact, a reservation means absolutely nothing. This used to be a decent place to rent from, but there are now a bunch of incompetent bums in charge. read more

The manager at this location's name is Heather very unprofessional if I could give them zero stars I would. This is a very unprofessional location. I had an appointment to pick up a compact car but when I got there they said they had no cars available but they offer me a cargo van. I was supposed to be going out of town on business and this was a major inconvenience. The woman's name Heather was very unprofessional and had an attitude. Friendly and helpful. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience given our last-minute decision to rent a car. I was told by the clerk it costs less to rent a car at a local office than it does at the airport, since there are fees they pass along to us. We got our car here and were able to take it back to the airport with no problems. Next time we'll probably just rent at the airport, but if you're already in town this is a great choice. read more

Returned an out of state rental car this weekend and there was only one person working with a line of 4 people waiting to be assisted. The worker prompts me to leave the car and have the receipt emailed to me later... Big mistake! Because of Covid I didn't want to wait around for the worker. Very unprofessional handling of my reservation! Several managers in the corporate office promised to rectify the mishap in refunding my deposit from December of 2017. Several months go by and now they have no idea what I'm talking about and claim there is no deposit to be refunded. Absolutely unorganized as they admitted to losing my paperwork and never inputting it in their system. I will make sure to tell everyone I can to never do business with Hertz. Horrible experience and unprofessional staff. Be aware, if you make a reservation (even as a Gold Member) they may not have a car available and will not compensate you for their mistake. They gave my reserved car away to another couple, then tried to make it seem like it was my mistake. They did not have an equivalent car or upgrade to give me after giving my car away. I even offered to come back in the morning to pick up a car. They said tomorrow will be worse, they have to turn away 30 people tomorrow because they didn't have enough cars. Just be aware, they overbook and may not have available cars. In addition, customer service is very unprofessional. At this store, the customer is always wrong and the staff is always right. When i returned car I put the same amount gas in and they charged me $42.00. It was 3/4 full already. Tried to charge me for and extra day. They didn't give me my company discount. I rented a car from this location through my insurance co State Farm, no financial obligation at all. My rental is for 30 days I returned the car well within those 30 days, however it took them almost 7 days to figure out where I left the car after I called them and told them which location the car was. There's a Christian brothers location less than 5miles from this location there is no way that it took 7days to figure out the rental was not at that location, on the 12th of the following month I get a $368 dollar charge on my account. Mind you I had to pay $60 bucks upfront. There should not have been any charges to my account whatsoever. Now I am trying to get my money returned and we all know how that's going. I would not recommend renting from this location, this was my first and definitely my last experience with this location. I've been in the customer service industry for years and I currently sell Harley-Davidson so I know exactly what customer service is and this was not it. I could go on but I think I've said enough. On May 20, 2015 I pre-paid a rental car through Hertz Corporation rental car service; service confirmation number. My American Express card ending in 10956 was charged for $148.97. Initially, I was scheduled to pick my vehicle initially on Friday, May 22 at 8 a.m. and drop off was to occur on May 26th and 8:00 a.m. I changed my pick date and time to May 21 at 4 p.m. On May 21, 2015, I received a telephone call from Nolan of the Salisbury, NC Hertz location and he informed me that there were no vehicles available, even though the website did not indicate such. Additionally, Nolan informed me that he did not know how to find another vehicle for me in the area and I was out of luck. After further discussion, he simply stated "ma'am, I am just a PEON working in a small office and can't help you." At that time, I requested to speak with his manager and he provided Paul Nathan as a contact. I called Paul Nathan and informed him of my unpleasant customer service experience with Nolan and he unwillingness to help me. Paul made no attempts to find me another vehicle and said that he was too busy to address my concern. Please note that my rental car was fully paid for at this time. I called Hertz Customer Service department and they informed me that Nolan and Paul, pursuant to company policies, should have made every reasonable attempt to find me a car and to call Paul back and inform him of this information. I called Paul back he informed me that he did not have time to find me another car BUT I could CALL another place and see what comes up. I telephoned customer service again and the representative said that she would give me the same rate and contract price but I had to cancel my old reservation. My CREDIT CARD was still charged in the amount of $148.97.for the old reservation. The representative provided with a new rental contract number G5774715102 and said that I would have the same rate and contact price. I DID NOT RECEIVE A EMAIL CONFIRMATION even though I requested that information. Please note that there is a 35 mile difference between the Salisbury, NC and Greensboro Airport location. When I arrived at the Airport I had to incur an additional $50.00 to park my vehicle. Once I got to the Hertz I was charged $225.77 for the new car. This is a breach of contract. Hertz double charged my card for $148.97 and $225.77. They were supposed to honor the pre-paid contract price of $148.97. As such, I would like for them to credit my account the difference between $148.97 and $225.77, as well as the charges the $50.00 charge I incurred for parking. The customer service I experienced was TERRIBLE and they representative lied to me about the contract prices. The manager, at this location does not have good customer service and is very unwilling to help customers. read more
