His answer was I can't check you out now, but I'll check you out in the morning because I'm doing night audit. We won't make you pay for a room since you're not staying here. Then he went to the back room came back out a couple minutes later and says I can't do anything to help you. I can't guarantee we're gonna refund you. The manager will talk to the owner, but you paid for the room and we might not be able to refund you, it's up to the owner. Apparently, the best Western Aberdeen thinks that people should stay in moldy rooms and deal with the smell (or simply open the window). Horrible customer service for a horrible hotel room.

What has happened to Ocean Crest Resort is absolutely disgusting…read more The rooms are horribly outdated and feel like they have been neglected for years. For the prices they charge, the condition of the accommodations is embarrassing. This is supposed to be a resort, not a time capsule with a premium nightly rate attached to it. But the outdated rooms are honestly the least offensive part of what is happening here. Since the new owners took over, I understand that most of the longtime staff were suddenly fired with little or no warning and the restaurant was shut down. These were real people with families, bills, mortgages, and lives tied to this place. People who helped build the reputation and experience that Ocean Crest benefited from for years were apparently discarded without a second thought. That is a shameful way to take over a longstanding local business. Closing the restaurant and gutting the staff didn't just change the resort--it affected multiple families and took jobs out of a small coastal community where replacing that kind of employment is not exactly easy. Then there is the situation involving historical artifacts that were reportedly loaned to the resort under the previous family ownership. My understanding is that some of those items have still not been returned to the people they belong to. If that is accurate, it is beyond unacceptable. Those items are part of someone else's family history and were entrusted to the resort, not handed over permanently to whoever happened to buy the property. Ocean Crest used to have something that money cannot easily recreate: history, character, loyal employees, a functioning restaurant, and a connection to the community. The new ownership appears to be doing an incredible job of destroying all of it. You can renovate an outdated room. You can replace furniture. You can repaint walls. What you cannot easily repair is the damage done when a business loses the goodwill of its employees, former owners, local community, and longtime customers. I would not spend a dime here under the current ownership. There are plenty of beautiful places to stay on the Washington coast. Spend your money somewhere that actually deserves your business.

Pacific Sunrise Inn & Suites seemed like a great spot and was offering a great deal for a weekend that worked for us. We arrived close to 10 minutes before their check in time and were told that our room was ready for us as we were exhausted from a three hour drive. At the front desk, they do have some chocolate mints for humans and milk bone treats for pets to enjoy. They do have a pet fee per pet but it was fair pricing as they have a pretty simple pet policy. I also appreciate that they are a completely non-smoking spot. The staff there were very professional and pleasant to speak with and they were more than happy to ensure our stay went perfectly. As we entered our room, we were content with the cleanliness of our room and the different amenities. The TV was a little strange to use but after we figured it out, there was no issues. There was a microwave, mini fridge, and a coffee maker which was nice. They also do provide small pastries and coffee from 7:30 to 9am. We did not get to check out the pool unfortunately as we only stayed for one night but we do recommend and hope to stay here whenever we decide to come back to Ocean Shores!

I finally managed to switch the HDMI cable to another port to get something. When I went down to the hot tub the first guest I encountered asked me if my tv worked! I said "nope! It's a known problem!" The jets on the hot tub also didn't work, so we were just sitting in a bath tub basically. There's a Keurig in the room, but you only get one coffee pod to share. I went to ask for another tiny bar of soap since we used ours up, but they were out. They were also out of shampoo, so we had to use the shower gel for everything. The shower curtain is hung so that it barely touches the top of the tub, so water runs all over the floor when you shower. You can tell this has been an ongoing problem because the door jam is completely rusted. When I went to ask for more towels do soak up all the water on the floor, there were two other guests complaining about the same issue in their rooms. Seems like that would be an easy enough fix that could save some major repairs later..... The cherry on top was finding someone's vape pen in my bed.!!!! Hoping it belonged to the housekeeper who changed my sheets?! It was between the comforter & the duvet so that's what I'm telling myself..... that was a first for me.

The house was fully furnished for every use. We loved having the option to cool or dine. I love how quiet the neighborhood was. No one bothered us... we bothered no one. It was GREAT. Only downfall was that we showed up to the house with bags of trash that seem to have been forgotten and raccoons got to it. But josh who was on night duty helped us clean it out. He was very nice. Check in and checking out was easy. We didn't have to talk or see no one because a code to the door was provided. Instructions for the home was sent couple days prior to arrival. As much as I love this place I wouldn't be able to stay here as often as we'd like due to the fact that it's very expensive to stay here. So this is a treat if we ever get to do this again. I recommend trying this place out if you haven't already. Even if you just come down for a day trip. It is on the way towards ocean shore so if you can't find anything to do in town you can always head down that way.

This is extremely dishonest but this is how Seabrook manages the entire business. The unit was incredibly dirty. The floors had tons of black dog hair and dirt as well as white fluffy husky type hair all over. The appliances were disgusting. They were stained. They had food stuck on, but worst of all, was the bed. It was broken, and you could not sleep on it. I alerted the management to these issues and they absolutely did not care. Not only did they not care they were incredibly rude, condescending, and blamed me for the issues. The person I spoke with name is Tyler, and he needs to be removed from any type of hospitality position. He said not being able to sleep on a broken bed is my "personal preference" and that I'm "impossible to please". He also said they'll schedule a deep clean "after I leave", implying the entire time that I made the mess. I had not even been at Seabrook 24 hours by the time this all happened. Tyler's options for me were to leave Seabrook and forfeit the rest of the two nights reservation I pre-paid for. Alternatively, he said I could rent a separate unit, still forfeiting my existing reservation and two nights I paid for, and pay additionally for an entirely new reservation. This was right after he said nothing in the entire community was available to move me into. I looked online and there were 105 dog friendly units and 150 units overall available for the duration of my stay. He was dishonest. I asked him if he could at least try to find a topper for the bed so that I could sleep on it, he stomped off - that was at 11 AM on Monday, the morning after my arrival. It is now midday Wednesday and I still have not heard back from Tyler or Seabrook about my issues. The maintenance person did come and realize that the bed had been shoved under a shelf in the headboard. However, when he pulled it out from underneath, it was almost a foot off the foundation. After not hearing from Tyler that night, I tried to sleep on the couch. It equally was not comfortable and for over $350 a night, this entire situation was not acceptable. I left the next morning as the room was uninhabitable. Seabrook portrays itself is having nice, clean, updated, elevated rentals with wonderful people working there. That is not the case. Like the manufactured community, that is the manufactured presence it creates for itself online. You would never know that without staying there. And once you stay there, and if you're not happy with your unit, you have no options but to stay in a horrible unit or ruin your vacation and go home while losing your money. Also, the night before I left, there was a cougar on the property and they sent a text at 8 PM telling residents to not go outside. They said they would update people when it was safe to go outside. As of 11 AM the next day they had not sent any updates, I absolutely had to walk my dog, and while outside I saw a worker and asked about the cougar. He showed me a picture of it because it was so large, and told me I should stay in my room. All Seabrook had to do was move me to a clean room with a decent bed. Instead, they decided to be dishonest with their review policy online, and dishonest by saying nothing was available and try to make me lose money I paid while charging me double just for a clean, comfortable room. They absolutely did not care if I had a good stay or not. They care about money, not you. They were unwilling to make any accommodation or take any accountability for their issues. This was extremely disappointing as I generally only take one vacation a year due to a busy work schedule. I had my new rescue dog with me, and was very excited for this trip for him. Seabrook and Tyler with his rude attitude absolutely ruined it. Not only was Tyler impossible to work with, he was derogatory, he kept putting me down, saying I was impossible, and his manner was extremely aggressive. He was acting like he was frustrated, throwing his arms up in the air, and I was absolutely confused and shocked by their "hospitality". They also advertise that they're extremely dog friendly. They are not. There was only one store where you could go in with a dog, and that was the actual pet store. When I went in one of them turned on a vacuum about 2 feet from my dog, and I almost lost control of him while he tried to run out the door. Stevie let us borrow a charger for our car, as, despite online postings, there were no working chargers available in town during our visit. One small downside was no on-site ice machine; however, with a medium-sized refrigerator in the room, none was needed. Would definitely stay again if ever in the area.

There was a fireplace in the living room, a DVD player with the television, and a second television in one of the bedrooms. The condo was smaller than I expected, but very clean and cozy. The people I met at the desk were very nice; I had made my reservation ahead of time through their website, and paying and securing the condo was very easy. Pros: Electric heat (not just the fireplace for heating), DVD player, two bedrooms, close to the beach and surrounding activities. Cons: The bedrooms were not insulated, so it was quite cold in March. I didn't anticipate it being as chilly as it was, so it was tough to sleep at night. Also, the bedrooms are connected; the walls don't go all the way to the ceiling upstairs, so the wall dividing the two rooms is essentiall just that; a divider. In the second bedroom, the curtains don't completely cover the windows, so sleeping in past 8am wasn't much of an option. The beds themselves were fairly uncomfortable; I almost decided sleeping on the couch would be better, as it was nice and plush. I really enjoyed staying here, despite being uncomfortable with the sleeping arrangements. The price was just under $450 for three people staying in a two bedroom condo for four nights, so I feel that the price was good. Next time, I'm thinking about a summer vacation, so I don't have to worry about the temperature so much!

They go the extra mile to let you see the rarities and they get just as excited as all the rest of the people on the boat when one appears.
