Last year I was looking for Black Girls Rock wine. I literally couldn't find it anywhere. Someone on Facebook posted they bought some from Hertel Liquor Library so that where I went. First off this store was very cute. Though, it's not a very big store but It had quite a collection. Not only did they have the wine I needed in the flavor I wanted but they had another as well. I met the owner who was very nice and helpful. She stated that if there is any thing specific needed she will definitely try her best to get it. Recently I was looking for Viarae Prosecco, a black owned brand and of course guess who had it again ? Liquor Library! ! I love that they owner supports minority creators!! And yes the owner self is a black women herself. Her husband own International Wine and Spirits as well. I popped in here tonight for a last minute wine need. I'm here perhaps once a year. They have a good selection of wine options in a variety of price points. Hertel Liquor Library is a lovely neighborhood resource run by friendly folks who are always offering to let you taste something and who are dead-honest when you ask them questions about brands they like and don't like. They recommended a fantastic-at-that-price point brandy to go with some mulled apple cider that led to a wonderfully regrettable night of drinking at home. They'll hook you up with carrying bags if you forget yours. They're nice and awesome folks. They carry an amazing socialist wheat vodka that's somehow always on clearance for me. It's a semi-regular stop. Although I love having having HLL in the neighborhood, I do have to stop at four stars. The shop's just too small for what they're trying to do (which is carry a selection of both basic brands and boutique stuff in both wine and liquor). Paradise Wines at Five Points solves a similar small-store problem by focusing mainly on wine and carrying just a few SKUs of delightful and rare spirits. It's apples-to-oranges, of course, as HLL is going for a more expansive concept that's liquor-first, but the wine and spirits selections here seem to end up competing for space and stepping on one another. I have no doubt that these are the right folks to implement the vision that they're trying to bring to fruition, but I'm not 100% sure that this venue is going to let them do it. So rock it here for a minute, Hertel Liquor Library, and move into a bigger storefront? read more

Absolutely wonderful place. The owner is kind and patient, with a scholarly knowledge of beverages. If your beverage of choice is small batch, she will ask about your palate and put you on the path for what will make you happy! read more

The new owner Kristal is very friendly and is extremely knowledgeable about wines and liquors. The store also has a sleek modern look to it, there is a wide selection of drinks to choose from, and pricing is affordable as well. This store just reopened under new ownership a couple of weeks ago after being closed for several months. Small store but great selection of all the basics plus some additional choices, fair prices. Also has a very cool neighborhood business feel in a great location on a booming area of Hertel. We stopped in just by chance one day when we realized it was newly reopened across from the Coop. Staff were super friendly and the interior looks great. Eventually they will be offering tastings, too. Seems like a nice addition to North Buffalo, we will return! read more

Lol, more like Hertel Liquor Shelf or Hertel Liquor Kiosk. This place is the most sparsely stocked liquor store in Buffalo. The dude working there was also kinda rude for someone who was sitting doing nothing. There should be a rule against false advertising in business names - like those low grade convenience stores with Deli or Gourmet in their name. read more

Nice store with helpful service but very few common brands and very limited selection. I hope that the selection will increase over time.
