I had an appointment for an all-over semi permernant colour and a blow dry with Emma, for the price of £80. TERRIBLE! Terrible service, terrible attitude, terrible blow-dry, just terrible. To begin with I was asked if I would like a drink by one of the other staff members. I politely asked for a coffee, as this was one of the options. It never arrived. I was then asked 20 minutes later by somebody if I wanted a drink. Again I asked for a coffee, which took at least 10 minutes to arrive. When discussing with Emma what kind of colour I should go for, she became very snappy and impatient, dismissed all of the colours I was interested in and told me instead I should go for a shade which looked very dark brown, assuring me that on my hair it would come out lighter and redder (I was left with almost black hair). I had requested semi permanent collour as it is kinder to damaged hair, but she insisted that it wouldn't take on my hair and that I should go permanent. I submitted in the end, so she walked off to mix the colour. She then came back with the dye and informed me she was going to use semi permenant dye after all, as she had changed her mind. I suspect she just couldn't be bothered to look for the permenant dye. She applied the colour hastily and sloppily, was supposed to come back to wash it out after 20 minutes but was off doing someone elses hair by this point. I informed another member of staff that the dye had been on my hair for longer than 20 minutes and asked if someone could wash it off, and the response was a shocked 'Oh, are you in a hurry to get somewhere?' WTF? So someone washed the dye out of my hair whilst Emma, who was supposed to be doing my hair, had found the time to squeeze in another appointment whilst my colour was developing. She then left me sat on a flipping VIBRATING CHAIR for around 20 minutes whilst Emma finished blow-drying her other client!! Yes I was just sat there in that uncomfortable position with my head bent back in the sick on a bloody vibrating chair. No hairdresser I've ever been to before has ever started working on a client before they've even finished the one before!! Shocking! Especially when you're paying more than double what you would in some places. The blow-dry was equally shoddy. She was very rough and tried to blow-dry my hair flat, even though it's already poker straight, fine and flat! I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody, I wouldn't even get my hair done there for free!! read more

I had a very good experience at this hairdressers. I tried it by chance when my usual hairdresser went on holiday and I was in desperate need of a hair cut. All the women in the salon were very friendly, especially Sarah the owner, who cut my hair. 2 weeks post cut, the hair still looks good and I'm happy with the style. I'm pretty fussy about my fringe being cut but I got what I wanted so am very pleased as a result. Id say it may be about £5-£10 more expensive than some of the other salons in the area but I don't think this would necessarily put me off going back. Great hairdresser - relaxing and zen vibe! Attention to detail is excellent, service is friendly and personal. It is a Special place where you really feel pampered and that your hair is truly taken care of, not only on the day but with great cuts that continue to grow well. You never feel rushed, and always leave feeling a million dollars partly due to hair do and partly due to the entire relaxation experience! The head massage is perfect and the vibration chair helps relax you completely. I enjoyed a glass of prosecco at my last hair cut, such a lovely way to treat yourself. Sarah Iovane Hair is a great little independently owned hair salon, who clearly apply attention to detail. I trialed them on the off chance last year and have been going back ever since. They are attentive, courteous, welcoming and not only give a great hair cut, but you get a really lovely relaxing and enjoyable experience in the process. read more
