My visit took place May 2019, but I remembered it like yesterday. I was in the UK and took a train ride out to this coastal area. I loved all the game booths to win trinkets, souvenir shops of homemade gifts/knick-knacks, and tons of food options ranging from ice cream to seafood.
There was something for everyone of all ages. I remembered having a delicious ice cream cone on a lovely sunny day, not too warm, and not too cold. Ample seating all over the pier. Just note that some vendors only took cash.
My favorite part was seeing some of the artwork displayed around, creative and colorful. Herne Bay reminded me of Santa Monica Pier in Southern California, but with a different vibe.
This place included tourists, as I was one too, but it had a "hometown" and "local" type feel, which is what I enjoyed.
There's no need for a car to get here, I easily hopped on a train in London and arrived in about 90 minutes!
