Best Donuts in the area all fresh And made from scratch everyday a must try wont be disappointed

This is a very nice donut place especially if they are fresh. The filled donuts with icing are the best and their Italian bread is great.

Cake decorator couldn't even come talk to me for 2 minutes so I could explain what I wanted instead wanted to text on Facebook about it. Very unprofessional. Never going there again. Giant eagle for the win. read more

I bought a cake for my son last October it was delicious. On April 11/2024, I order a cake for my friend's birthday. Only six of us so I have the smallest marble cake. We were so disappointed, it looked as if someone just split a white cake squirted some chocolate syrup into it, put it back together, and decorated it. The two flavors did not blend in like when they bake at the same time. I don't mind paying $22 for it if it's good. But, it was dry and had no taste. Like eating sugar. We needed two birthday cakes in the first few weeks of the COVID-19 shutdown. The bakeries in our town closed immediately, but the Hermitage Bakery agreed to make our cakes delicious and on time. The day of the pickup my husband and I drove the 20 miles in hopes the cakes would be ready, pretty, and delicious. We were not disappointed. The chocolate hoho cake for my son-in-law was amazing! We took it to their house, and my two youngest granddaughters ran out, sang the birthday song and set off poppers as they ran around the yard. We put the car windows down and enjoyed the show. Next we showed them the almond tort cake for us. As fate would have it, we share the same birthday! The Hermitage Bakery helped make our quarantine birthdays special, so I'm calling them again for the cake we need to celebrate my oldest daughter's birthday this week. She is a seven year survivor of bone/breast cancer, so we want only the best cake for her. read more

Stop in on a Saturday to get a cake for my husband birthday. The cake I was looking for the almond torte they didn't have so the clerk was kind enough to see if they could make me one. The baker said yes it would be 10 min . So went to have lunch came back she was finishing it up . I must say the girl cannot write very well the writing on the cake looked like a first grader . I've had almond torte many of times before and this one lacked the filling in center it was very thin layer. So I must say I will not go back again. read more

So I had a gender reveal party and ordered my cake from Hermitage Bakery, it was a $70 cake!! We picked the cake up and it was beautiful. The lady said "this is the only box we have". It was a box for a large sheet cake, while my cake I ordered was a 14 inch circle cake, it didn't fit in the box, the box was huge in length and not tall enough in height. Then she puts the lid on, which just sitting on top of the cake, not the box.. the cake was higher than the box! But I just assumed, hey they know what they are doing, they make cakes all the time. The Cale went into my hatchback truck, with nothing touching it, nothing else was even in the trunk. We got home, party starts in 20 minutes, looked at the cake and the icing is all smeared, can't even tell what it was supposed to say!! I called them, the girl put me on hold then said the decorator is still there if I bring the cake back in they can fix it. I told her I didn't have time and hung up. They're the ones who put a lid on top on the box knowing the cake was too high. Well, I had my sister take the cake back and when she got there they said "it's a $15 decoration fee". WHAT?!?! So you ppl want me to spend almost $100 on a cake and put me thru stress on my party day too? Wow?! I refused to pay the $15 and demanded that they fix it. The girl called the owner and he/she said "they would fix it, but make sure when they put it back in the box that I don't put something on top pf the box again". I said "umm no! How about u guys don't even put a lid back on it bc the same thing will happen since u guys don't even have the right box for the cake in the first place!! I repeat DO NOT PUT A LID ON!!!" I have to say the girl who answered the phone handled my attitude pretty well bc I was 100% worked up, but with good reason. They tried to blame me for their mistake. If they would have had the correct box to use for this cake then the problem would have been avoided. In the future Hermitage Bakery, if someone is paying $70 for a cake, make sure you use the correct box so the cake doesn't get ruined, and don't blame the customer, saying I must of pushed down on the lid or had something on top of the box. Ugh!!!. If the owner/ manager would like to talk with me I would love a phone call bc I've already told my family and friends to never order from here again. read more

I'm giving one star because I cannot give zero. After calling several local bakeries this was the only bakery that could make the cake I wanted. All I had to do was bring in a picture. So I did. The lady quickly said that she could make it. I was excited! When I picked up the cake the day of the party, I was highly disappointed. It looked like my 1st grader helped decorate the cake. There was a huge blob of icing in the center of the cake with his name on it. The cake was not a flat cake, it had a hump in the center. And to top it off, the taste was terrible. The cake itself was not moist and the icing tasted like crisco and flour. I contacted the owner via text, because they don't have email, with pictures for proof and I never got a response. I will never go back and I highly recommend not using them!! read more

$9.50 for a dozen cookies - WOW ! Bigger and better at Giant Eagle or WalMart for $3.49 to $3.99.

The customer service on my visit was outstanding. I commented that I wanted a different size cake (smaller) than they had in the case for out of town visitors that I was expecting, and the folks at Hermitage Bakery offered to make it on the spot for me. I came back in a couple of hours and it was ready to go. And, also so light and fluffy and delicious (almond cake)! It was a wonderful surprise to receive such exceptional service. We got a cake and a smash cake for our sons 1st birthday and it was the best cake I've had in a long time and the decorations were perfect and everyone wanted a piece to take home also. I will for sure get my next baked goods from there again and again. Used to Love this bakery, but is not the same since it reopened. Their buttercream was my favorite and now it takes like Crisco. The prices have increased as well. Their prices are way too high for the low level quality of their products. I'll be going to classic bakery in Boardman or Jimmy's on Belmont from now on. read more

Cookies are way overpriced. Cookies tasted old--like they were using old ingredients. Very bland, kisses on cookie tasted old. 75 cent a cookie ....complete ripoff. How can confectionery sugar not taste sweet??? Gross. Won't be back. read more

Came here on Christmas Eve 2016 - the lady with the short brown hair was absolutely miserable to customers. She told the lady in front of my that they were out of nut roll and the next person ordered one from another lady working she and got her one. The lady who originally ordered and was told they didn't have any asked again because the lady behind her got one. The lady rolled her eyes at her and was like I don't care I will get you one - goes to the back and basically slid the baked good to the lady in a very not nice way. Unfortunately, I received her service next - I asked for a 3 dozen mix and didn't care to listen to which ones I wanted. Needless to say I can see why they have such bad reviews. I grew up here and everyone raves about this place but let's be honest we ourselves it's just ok... This isn't the DMV - It's a bakery, should be a happy place to go to. I would also like to agree with the other gentlemen's review - if you make it through the candy cane forest and get to the donut troll you might get your baked good. I can't rate this bakery's product because I never got to taste it. I left messages and kept calling, but was put on hold for 10 minutes. I finally went there to place my order and they were snide and condescending. If you decide to buy a cake from them, make sure to order it at least a week in advance so that their bakers, who don't come in until 11 am, will have time to fit you into the schedule. read more

Recently visiting my hometown of Farrell, PA I discovered the Hermitage Bakery. It was recommended by my relatives when I asked if any old time bakeries still existed in the area. The sticky buns and bear claws were some of the best I've had in some time. My husband loved the sugar cookies in many formats, iced, color sugared and plain. They had a nice array of holiday cookies and pastries. The marbled cake we tried was light and not too sweet. The service is friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend the Hermitage Bakery. I plan to make it a regular stop when I visit the Shenango Valley to see friends/family and attend WaterFire. read more

Casual donut buyers beware: if you just go in for a donut or two, odds are good that they'll sell you stale product and save the fresh stuff for their regular (or volume) buyers. This is the second time they've done this to me and I won't be going back. read more

I wish I could give no stars because I would. If you would have asked me before, I would have said the cakes are awesome. However, after getting the last cake we got, I have to say that the cake was awful and even worse yet was the treatment we received when we tried to return it! Since I was the last person to taste the cake, I didn't even know how awful it was until everyone was served and about half the cake was gone. No one was rude enough to tell me how bad it was and then I tasted it! Eww, Crisco and flour! When I told the people at the bakery, they actually told me that there should be a whole cake to return since it was so bad. I explained that I had a houseful of people that I served before I even tasted it. I guess I should have wrestled the cake away from my guests who had mostly already choked it down by the time I had my first bite! As it was, I returned half the cake to them and still, no credit, no refunds, no satisfaction and that was by order of the owner themself. I will NEVER buy from them again, I wouldn't recommend them to my enemy and I wouldn't feed that cake to a dog! read more

Please please please do not make the same mistake I did. First of all if you get ANY two layer cake, you will be charged wedding cake prices. Maybe this is the norm, maybe not. I don't know much about baking and cakes, but it was my fiancés birthday, I wasn't given a total until I picked up the cake. I asked for one but was pressed for time, surely I didn't think cupcakes and a cakes would total close to $100 after I was told about $50. I read the reviews and saw negative ones where individuals complained about there icing tasting like crisco.but given the situation I chose the hermitage bakery. I was literally embarrassed. They made for my fiancé a steelers themed cake, which I was told they were good at, the decorations were amateur, at least not worth how much I paid. The cupcakes had an ENORMOUS amount of icing, which also contained the crisco. The importance if the crisco is when my first, second and third guest tasted the cupcakes and cake they immediately said it tasted like crisco. The cake was a spice cake with cream cheese frosting....... over half my guests commented that the cake was vanilla vice spice..... so there's that. I personally couldn't care less whether anyone else agrees or not but if u don't want an embarrassment, do t choose this place. read more
