Dr. Cheung is incredibly patient, enthusiastic and clearly passionate about teaching. He takes the time to meet my son where he is which has made a big difference in both his confidence and consistency. My son has made leaps and bounds since starting lessons with him and it's been really rewarding to watch that progress. My son has had a few injuries from BJJ and wrestling and Dr. Cheung worked with him to adapt lessons so he could continue practicing using one hand. That level of support and problem solving meant a lot. One thing I especially appreciate about MACSA is how many opportunities they offer beyond weekly lessons. There are regular performance opportunities and competitions, which give students a chance to grow, build confidence and apply what they're learning in a meaningful way. The pianos the students get to practice on are also beautiful which adds to the overall experience and makes it feel even more special. It feels like a place that truly supports both skill development and a genuine love for music. I'm really glad we found it.

If you are looking for a new guitar to buy online, the first place you should checkout is Alamo…read moreMusic Center out of San Antonio, TX. Let me tell you why. There are so many things to consider when buying online. You need to know that the people you are dealing with are honest and honorable. You will not find better people than Chris McKee and Cooper Greenberg. They are the best. You also want to make sure the people that you talk to are guitar experts. Just check out Chris' and Coopers' You Tube channel, Alamo Music Center, and watch their informative and entertaining guitar review videos. You will come away impressed by their expertise and knowledge. They want to make sure you select a guitar that meets your criteria and your needs rather than just trying to sell you a guitar. You want a store that treats the customer with respect and bends over backwards to make sure a customer is satisfied. I can vouch from personal experience that they know how to treat a customer right. I have purchased guitars from some of the biggest guitar places in the US and none of them come even close to meeting all of the criteria I have listed above, except for Alamo Music Center. I have purchased my last two guitars from them and will always go to Alamo Music Center first. Check them out and maybe like me Alamo Music Center will become your favorite and go to guitar store. Pro Tip: When they have a sale pay attention and peruse the inventory for your next guitar. Their deals are fantastic! Thank you, Alamo Music Center!

Music on Magnolia is a great music school to teach children and adults new instruments!…read more My kid is just over two years old and he attended Music on Magnolia for their toddler classes in which they play with rhythms and sounds. This class was just 30 minutes every Saturday morning and my kiddo absolutely loved it. The teacher was super patient with the little ones, and made it a very fun experience for everyone. Unfortunately the class was removed off the program and he will no longer be able to attend. However, I look forward to coming back to Music on Magnolias once he is older and he can attend their Music Exploration classes.

He's…read moreonly 2 1/2 and is still learning how to be around other kids and follow structure, which is exactly why we enrolled him. Before signing up, I asked if the instructor would be able to handle a high-energy toddler and were reassured that it wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, that didn't seem to be the case. While I understand the importance of structure and rules, the approach taken didn't feel supportive or age-appropriate. There were moments where he seemed to be singled out or excluded--for example, when other children were given instruments and he was not. He was also removed from class, which for a 30-minute session means he missed the entire experience, without other options offered (like having a parent assist). I completely understand that not every class is the right fit for every child, but at this age, patience and redirection go a long way. It was disappointing because he genuinely enjoyed being there. I hope the program can consider a more supportive approach for younger children who are still learning how to navigate structured environments.

Avoid This Shop - Total Waste of Money and Five Months of Headaches…read more Do NOT waste your money or time at this place. Back in October, I dropped off my Chauvet DJ GigBAR lighting system for a simple power supply repair. What should have been a quick fix turned into five months of nonstop runaround. They kept giving excuses: "ordering the wrong parts," "just found out about this," same BS every single time I called. Zero progress, zero updates unless I chased them down. When I finally had enough and demanded my equipment back along with a refund, the owner himself got on the phone and told me he "doesn't have time to listen to whining and complaints." Real professional. He only refunded the rush fee out of the full upfront payment I made--because apparently he "invested time." Meanwhile, my GigBAR sat there collecting dust for months, unusable for gigs, while I lost bookings and had to scramble with backups. The whole team comes off as incompetent and straight-up rude. No accountability, no communication, no respect for customers' time or money. If you're in San Antonio and need lighting or AV gear repaired, go literally anywhere else. These guys don't fix equipment--they hold it hostage and disrespect you while doing it. Save yourself the headache and the cash. 0 stars if Yelp allowed it.
