We booked an appointment online ahead of time in case of a line, but the store was actually not busy at all. We had a great salesperson (Filipio) who showed us what we were interested in (shoes, leather jackets) and was very patient as we tried things on. Complimentary beverages were also provided. Once we decided on what we wanted, he easily handled the transaction including the tax free paperwork. He also arranged complimentary delivery to the hotel so we didn't have to carry the purchases around all day. Once you have your tax free paperwork, be sure to scan it at the tax free kiosks at the airport before your flight home to confirm your refund. If you're going to other countries in the EU first, though, you will have to manually have the form stamped at customs at your port of departure from the EU and then mail the form back to the tax free company for manual processing. I recommend visiting Prada for your luxury shopping during your Roman holiday!

They have a larger location closer to the Fendi flagship store; however, with it being around 10am during our morning stroll at the Spanish Steps it made more sense to check this one out. I was the second person to be ushered in and it looked like they had a few VICs already shopping before open to the public. What really resonated with me was how friendly they were and looking forward to helping me with my shopping needs. This shop has more than one level and is carefully curated taking advantage of every square inch of space within the boutique. Once it was my turn I informed them it would be a short and sweet shopping visit as I needed to pick up a wallet for partner's tia. They had the wallet in stock and we were able to get it boxed up and wrapped up for the holidays. Now the five-star moment that made me smile was how friendly they were to hot stamp my passport holder to have an emblem of the colosseum. It's a complimentary service but many stores don't have the ability to do it on the spot. They did it within ten minutes which made my stop to this shop more memorable. Shopping luxury in Europe is always cheaper than it is buying in the US. Make sure to have your physical passport so they can have the paperwork prepped and ready to go upon checkout. A photo of your passport will not suffice.

So I stopped by Salvatore Ferragamo to pick up a purse and had the best experience ever. I know the brand isn't as popular as let's say LV, so the store wasn't nearly as busy, but to me that was probably a positive thing because you get way more attention. I was lucky to work with Anastasia who helped get me the exact item that I was looking for, ensured that I got a brand new one from their storage, gave us some water and drinks while we were waiting around, and also was super friendly and provided us with great local spots to try. Also after shopping at a few other luxury brand stores, I have come to find that the quality of Salvatore Ferragamo seems to be better than others. This of course is just my personal opinion.
