I'm definitely warming up to the ALDI phenomena. It's got a rock solid low-cost concept that…read moreoffers a nice selection of food, produce, meats, poultry, dairy, organics and gluten free items. And sure, you'll most definitely keep more money in your wallet than the other chains so shop with confidence and get to know the ABC's of ALDI. A. ALDI cares about our environment which is super cool, so be sure to bring your own bags or plan to buy some of theres. B. Speaking of bags, it's your job to bag your own goods but not a deal breaker since it's just adding to our savings. C. Be sure to have a quarter in your pocket for a grocery cart. If you forget, just walk in and get change from someone at a register. Put it in the slot, free your cart and you'll get it back when you return it. Btw, they don't have baskets. D. Get used to their warehouse-fluorescent look...most items are displayed in the boxes they were delivered in, but hey it's another reason why we're saving! E. Leave the coupons behind - they don't take them. F. They accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, most debit cards, EBT and Link cards. No personal checks or checks/vouchers for WIC. G. Get to know their hours. This location is open every day of the week from 9AM - 9PM. H. You're not going to see a huge selection of major/international brands because of their private label items. So what does that mean? Simply put, private label products are products stores put their own names on and it's what keeps your wallet from shrinking (think Trader Joes). But that doesn't mean it compromises the quality of their products. ALDI meets or exceeds equivalent National Brand items sold in other national retail chains. I. Get to know their Double Guarantee Policy. If you're not 100% satisfied they'll give you a refund and replace the item. J. Looking for the nutritional facts? ALDI displays them on the "front" of their products. K. They also carry non-food items like toys, household items, tools, outdoor items and more. Bottom line...ALDI is a unique grocery store striving to offer high quality foods at a lower cost and I commend them for breaking the norm. I wish them huge success and I hope you'll give them a try too...I know I'll be a regular here! P.S. Thanks to the very nice woman who offered her cart on the way out! :)

I bought a roast there to make for Christmas Day and when I put it in the crockpot on Christmas Day…read moreand cook it, it was spoiled. It smelled like rotten oil. I returned it to the store the day after Christmas the manager came to the desk was very rude laughed at me, turned around and told the guy give her a credit. Did not even try to make up for the fact that my entire Christmas dinner was ruined. One star is too many for this store. I've shopped there for years when they had their first bouts in Washington Township and that is how I got treated. They never called me even though the guy working at the courtesy counter said he would leave a note for the owners to call me with my phone number. No one ever called me. They don't even care what somebody went through and how their Christmas dinner was ruined. They are horrible.

I can see the points of both reviews below, and partially agree with each…read more Bottino's is like the lesser of 2 evils in town. It's certainly not as bad as the one review makes it out to be, but it isn't ideal. The regular/non-organic produce is much better at acme, as is the meat. But acme prices on everything else is much higher. Who wants to go to two food stores. So I assume people go to shoprite due to the price. The prepared foods are mediocre. The hot foods and salad bar look like a school cafeteria. But this is apparently good to many people, so it works. Shoprite does put a considerable of effort into stocking alternative diet food items, such as organic, gluten free, vegan etc. they've really come a long way in recent years, especially with having dedicated areas for it. I eat organic and gluten free. I can manage to eat solely gluten free shopping here, but could never sustain myself with their organic produce. It's atrocious. It's generally old/moldy. I'll even place something on a separate shelf if I find a moldy item (every trip so keep your eye out). If I had a web and in my backyard I'd shop there once a week, but I don't. So this will have to do. And it's just fine. FYI: Zallies shoprites have much better bakeries than Bottinos. No comparison.
