Hands down worst Wilco school in the area. Horrible experience. Bad policies. Horrendous leadership. No opportunities for STEM as specials are not something you can influence. Bad sports programming and support. Way too heavy handed in discipline. Seriously, the punishments here are not close to reasonable. More homework than seen even at local high schools. Limited ability to build relationship with other students. Zero student freedoms! Still following COVID procedures to limit students' ability to socialize (can't sit next to anyone at lunch). Students have more freedom in elementary school next door. Complete lack of respect for students and parents. Many bad teachers (there were a few good ones, though). Flight time is not managed well. Clubs just mysteriously stop or just never start. Bad parent communication. Overall, this has been a horrible experience for my family. This school is nowhere near the caliber of Thompsons Station Middle or Spring Station Middle even though all are Wilco. Stay away if you are able. read more

Do not send your kids here. The football coaches are very unfair and unprofessional they let a kid in a cast play and they choose favorites. Their current head coach chooses his kid for most of the spots and he didn't even do tryouts he just puts kids wherever and he is very rude to the parents and tells the kids to tell the parents not to email him. Not to mention he only plays the first set of kids while the rest of them sit on the sidelines. read more

This school cares about the students and is a safe place for all students and my students received an excellent all around education!

I kept an open mind with this school despite the negative reviews. Our experience has only proven the below reviews to be true. This is coming from a person who has worked in the mental health field with kids who actually had disabilities. I have worked in behavior modification as well as children services. This is a type of school that uses punishment as discipline for every little thing. My son was nodding off in class once and told he was getting lunch detention. When they don't complete work despite not understanding, detention. They even attempted detention when my son submitted homework and their receipt deleted half of it. I was with him when he completed it and submitted it. This type of correction only produces anxiety in kids and diminishes their ability to focus. We have attended Sumner County schools, FSSD, and Online as well. My son excelled in those schools. I don't think this is all of WCS. There is another middle school in area that has a review that says they left a WCS middle school to go to their current and much better. The other schools we did attend had a different approach. A bigger show for love and support and positive reinforcement. We are new to the school and the only communication I have received from teachers is every time my son is getting a detention. And the detentions are escalating. It doesn't work. They really need intervention and shown how to focus on the positive and positive reinforcement. The humiliation part is true. When in detention the kids have to sit in lunch at a table around all other students and they aren't allowed to talk. And then they wonder why your kid can't focus. It's just like prison the teachers don't care about the students,they put a lot of stress, the teachers give way to much home work you have 7 periods and you get 7 classes with home work in them if you don't do it it's the darkest time of my life I lost someone and the staff didn't care about me so I recommend you take you kid somewhere else because this isn't the school for them read more

Don't go here!!! The teachers and staff are under paid, the related arts courses don't receive any funding, and they blow all the money on technology and sports instead of repairing the school and caring for the students!! Fights break out before classes in class rooms and the nurse doesn't help at all and when the students do get in trouble it's barely anything or it's to harsh!! A student who was late five times over the course of the year was given detention even though this student had never gotten any severe punishments and the most trouble they've gotten in is forgetting homework! Don't send your kids here this is coming from an actual students at this school saying what's wrong!! If you care for your child you won't send them here it'll only make their life worse, and maybe even suicidal! I've seen it happen it's not worth the trouble!! read more

Ehhhh big no for me the clubs all mysteriously vanished after 1 year except for the academic ones like homework club . Also the teachers constantly jump to conclusions and blame drawing for all problems. The schedules got screwed up so I couldn't take advanced art and choir. The food is very good however. Also the teachers don't care about bullying . When I did take advanced art, it was wonderful. read more
