Recently there, I snagged a framed 10" x 12" Christmas card signed by President Johnson and his wife Lady Bird at a very very good price. I consider this card precious because President Johnson was, you know, the guy that enacted the Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Medicare and Medicaid. A president that actually wanted to (and did!) improve the lives of all Americans. When you see manicured landscaping in interstate cloverleaves, that was Lady Bird Johnson's idea.

A fatal flaw Apparently, there are large and plentiful antique stores outside of the downtown corridor. Who knew!? I only had a little bit of time to go through, so I can't wait to go back and go through with more of a fine tooth comb. I ended up getting a very nice art deco wooden box and a WW2 uniform. I was sort of thinking about last minute halloween costumes honestly ( it was right before Halloween when I went). I ended up defaulting to my Star Trek costume though lol. Much more comfortable. I will say, it took me QUITE a long time to check out. There was a group of four people ahead of me, they were all together, but they did different transactions. With the system that the cashier has, it really takes a long time to process each item it seems. Maybe something they might want to consider adjusting to just streamline the check out process. I really think I was waiting about 20+ minutes to check out. Overall, I'd like to go back. I'll just make sure to leave a much longer period of time to be able to look through the store properly... and also to check out lol. Note: Most of the stuff in here isn't really finer antiques. This is more mid range stuff, and I can't imagine if you're a collector that you won't find something.

I'll pay some extra cash to support an establishment such as this before any big run of the mill store. We need more places like this! I found an authentic Dutch bassinet, likely 100 yrs old, in fantastic condition for only $60! I plan to use it for my newborn! This store & warehouse is RAW! and a great experience, seriously like a museum except everything is for sale! how cool! Owners/staff are very very nice. If you are in need of some 1920's-40's looking industrial creations though, they have some of that stuff, but not much exciting anymore. The shop is small, but there are some gems to be found. From what I understand the turn-over is quick so check-in every couple of months. They were very reasonable on the price and customized the chain length for me on the spot -- I was willing to wait on this rainy day. A few other customers came in while I waited with an array of objects to be polished/restored from Egyptian Vases to Chrome fenders for a car buff's pet project, so they can truly handle almost anything.
