This was an old experience from 2015. I have continued to follow on Facebook and notice when the owner describes bad reviews. I had not wrote a review after my experience. Recently, upon seeing a post from their Facebook page, I decided I would sent a direct message just to explain my situation years ago. My comment was deleted, but the ones of praise remained. I found it to be very shady so I decided it was look enough I post a review. I had a 100X American Hat Co I just wanted clean for an upcoming event. He said I would have to leave it, but completely understandable. I picked up a few days later and my hat had been dry cleaned. The laundry tag was still attached to the inside of the hat. My $1,000 hat had shrunk and the shape was completely off. The process was never explained, nor did I think I needed to put extra care instructions for someone who owns a hat store. After years of issues, I found a great hat shop in ABQ that was able to help stretch the hat to get it back about where it was originally. I follow the Facebook to see what type of arguments he has going on, but beware you can leave messages on Facebook and he'll delete the comments he doesn't want you to see. read more

We took my father in laws hat that he wore and was made in the 60's. Rich, again did his magic and cleaned and reblocked this 60 year old resistol. We are so happy that we will be giving this hat to our grandson. He will be able to enjoy a hat his great father had worn. I made the drive out to Heritage Hats specifically to look at the Stetson 6X Open Road, which was listed on their website for $219.95. When I arrived, the in‑store price was $330. When I asked about the difference, I was told that prices have been going up and are expected to rise again in January. He told me he was waiting to update his website then. That meant the price advertised online wasn't honored, even though it's what brought me into the store in the first place. I ended up driving about 30 minutes each way only to find out the actual price was more than $100 higher than what they publicly posted. I left disappointed and won't be returning. At the very least, the website should reflect current pricing, so customers don't waste their time. read more

We had a great experience at Heritage Hat Company, and a lot of that is thanks to Rich, the owner. We came in looking for something very specific: a medium-brim, Gus-style black hat, in a particular size. Andrew that turned out to be harder to find around town than expected. Several other shops simply didn't carry Gus crowns at all. At Heritage, not only were there multiple Gus-style options, but they were available in the size we needed, which made the difference immediately. Rich took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, walked us through the options without any pressure, and clearly knows his craft inside and out. The depth of inventory and his experience really show. If you're serious about hats -- especially if you're looking for a specific crown shape or fit -- this is a place worth visiting. I started going to heritage hats a few years ago when my brother was looking for a new hat shop. We used to like going to Goorin Bros. Back when they still had physical locations but had to find somewhere new and local after they closed. I have to say we were very pleased with the selection as well as the help we got from the owner Rich. Rich is officially one of my favorite humans of all time. Heritage Hats is the "southwest" equivalent to finding wands in the Harry Potter world. There's every sized hat, from top name brands, stacked in this store. Brought my Dad who was visiting from Michigan to get his very first Stetson. It's an unassuming place. Rich, the owner and sole employee (although the dog offered us some suggestions from the back) has been there 40 years. So it's home to him and there's a level of his life there. You're not getting a fitting here. You're not having somebody wait on you. There's no pressure, no constant asking you if you need help. You wanna look at hats? There's more hats here in one place than you've ever seen, I guarantee. He's got hats. Rich knows his stuff. There's awards and famous people pictures up and letters from people thanking him for his help. It's such a blessing to go into a place where someone just knows their stuff.
