The audience could not stop laughing as if we were all at a comedy show. She gave explanation of each wine we tasted while her partner poured the samples. In total, we were able to taste 12 out of the 13 wines that the winery produced. We started on white wines, moved onto reds, and finished with dessert wines. Honestly, everything was absolutely delicious. If I lived closer, I would be here regularly and store a bunch of their bottles in my pantry. On this trip, I bought a bottle each of the 2022 Sage Grand Reserve, 202 The Pearle, 2020 Blueberry, and 2022 The Flame. The whole experience was amazing, from the gorgeous vineyard to the delicious wine tasting.

They were all so unlike anything I've had before. And she took us through twelve wines! The place itself is gorgeous and I'd love to have a picnic here. The only downside was the tasting was quite rushed. At one point I wasn't done my wine before water was added to rinse things out. At another time my friend was still drinking her wine when a different wine was added to the glass.

Fiona is a an angel! If you want exceptional bread, you must come here. And go early. I came Friday…read moreat 2:30 pm and they were all sold out of bread. I picked up some cheeses and salami for chacuterie anyways but I wanted that bread! I came on Monday (at 10 am) and was able to scoop up 8 breads! The flavors are super good (try the asiago). The location is stunning. Wine barrels serve as tables (each with a hand sanitizers). You overlook fields of vines and the Oliver horizon. Everyone is so friendly and happy. I never got to try the wine but I will hands down go back. Again, Fiona is a magician. Her breads are so creative and exceptionally flavorful. The bread melts in your mouth and perfect to sop up the wine. Thank you for adding this treat to my Oliver trips!

**Note: Reviews are based on my experience when I was there during early September…read more I love carbohydrates in any form, especially bread. Platinum Bench is a great place to grab fresh artisan bread for your breakfast. Come early for it because it SELLS OUT. However, I would be conscious of how much you want to order and when you order. Platinum's bread is hot out of the oven, with a crunchy crust, pillowy soft inside, with the right texture of chewiness. We tried 4 types of bread, and overall, I would recommend: - Asiago Cheese - Gorgonzola & Fig Preserves The smell of the bread is amazing, and the taste delivers with the right amount of sweet/savory balance between the cheeses + fruit. I would've wanted more/bigger pieces of fig preserves or pear in the bread, but that's just my personal preference. The only thing I wasn't too impressed with was the service. In any type of food service, I expect kindness, welcoming attitudes, and compassion. However, the lady who was there at the time was not friendly and had an overbearing attitude which was a major disappointment and turnoff for me. Aside from the poor service, some improvements I would suggest to the overall physical environment include: A. Have a bigger sign that states each type of artisan bread you sell - this will allow people to see the options you offer. This will help avoid huge clumps of people hovering at one place, and allow customers know what they want to order ahead of time. B. Have a sign that specifically states where the line for bread is, and where the line for wine tasting is. It was quite confusing and not well marked. C. Have signs that states which parking spots are reserved for wine tours vs private cars. Overall, not bad. Don't think I'll be going back to try out their actual winery experience, but if you are wine-hopping around the area, I think dropping by for their artisan bread can be worth it.

My girlfriend and I were on vacation through Okanagan wine country. Over six days, we visited…read moresixty wineries. You can follow our various locations with this disclaimer. That's sixty wineries, not an exaggeration. We ended the trip with 120 bottles acquired. Despite being on the "we also went to" list of wineries, Cassini Cellars is a worthwhile visit. I'm not going to lie, it's one of the smaller wineries, and it mimics the design of many of the others like Gold Hill and Tinhorn. I said in my review for Tinhorn that there either must have been some collective agreement or there was a huge discount on mustard paint. So, given that single criticism of similitude, why do I love Cassini Cellars? Well, for one, it has an awesome name--I must come clean with that one. If I punch in "Cassini" in Google, that brilliant Skynet-like algorithm gives me neither the winery nor a town in Australia, but rather the name of the mission to Saturn. You see, Cassini is a name synonymous with knowledge, with four generations of French/Italian scientists stretching two hundred years. So right from the gate, I'm predisposed to like Cassini Cellars. The name here refers to its owner and principle winemaker, so there could, in fact, be a genetic connection. Wouldn't that be awesome? I never asked. I should have. The man himself greeted us and offered a quick tour. The tasting room is one of the best in the region, tall, with hundreds, perhaps thousands, of bottles dominating the walls and tables. I adore the fanatical dedication Cassini has with their wines, one of the few with colossal double magnums reinforced in steel and wood cages waiting for purchase. I couldn't justify that, so a nominal magnum maximus was enough for me. Adding with a few others, we were eventually able to fill a box to ship back home. Yes, one the few places where we did that. The boxed maximus dominates my shelf to this day. Ignoring the resemblance Cassini has with other wineries, it also holds the distinction of being one of the few that could transport you spiritually (not physically, I'm not the character from Jumper) to France or Italy. Despite not hawking tourists with tours, a restaurant, and some trained animal in the corner begging for treats, Cassini is still one of the must-see locations between Oliver and Osoyoos. I also found it cool that when I planned my trip, I contacted nearly every winery, and Cassini himself was one of the few people that responded. That's got an additional mark right then. You can't miss Cassini Cellars...literally. It's on the highway between the two towns, so you would be factually improvident to avoid it. It would be like watching Rogue One and scoffing at Darth Vader's final scene. It would be like going to Disneyland and not picking a fight with an underpaid actor in an unventilated foam body suit. Why go if you are going to skip the highlights? Cassini is another in a long list of must-see wineries in southern BC, and unlike the others, it's not all polished paint over particle board; there is real wood underneath there. Yes, it's not just a pretty face; the wines are actually good, and why else would you come?
