Nothing to complain about means I don't have any issues putting out a 5 star review…read more My dining partner suggested ICU as a place to grab some wings. With 15 sauces available, I thought, "let's try something different." The bartender/waitress greeted us as soon as we found our table. She was quick to get us drinks, followed by grabbing our order. We picked 50 wings and a basket of fries. Knowing we are big eaters, we figured we could polish off the three flavors (Thai chili, Parmesan garlic and hot garlic) of wings. Turns out we were wrong! While we did damage, the jumbo sized wings were more than we could finish. Meaty, hot and amply sauced, they were very tasty. The full basket of fries came piping hot and also was more than enough to send us home with leftovers. The bar is conveniently located, has a nice sized parking lot and plenty of seating. While there seemed to be a lot of regulars, we received great service in the sports themed tavern. Local Wisconsin vibes abound. We will definitely come back again!

Bazil's Pub & Provisions is one of those places I can walk into without needing a plan--and that's…read moreexactly why I love it. Established in 1993, Bazil's has that classic old-school pub personality that you just don't manufacture. Dark wood, vintage bar vibes, a relaxed atmosphere and a massive beer selection that gives you plenty of reasons to hang around for a while. And honestly, the beer selection is the star of the show. Bazil's is known for having one of the biggest craft beer selections on College Avenue, and it's easy to see why people make this place a destination. Whether you already know exactly what you want or you're standing there thinking, "Okay...what the hell am I drinking today?" there's plenty to explore. But what I appreciate most is that they don't overcomplicate things. Good basic pub food. Cold beer. Comfortable surroundings. No need to dress it up with a paragraph of adjectives and culinary buzzwords. I went with the burger and fries, and it was exactly what I wanted from an old-school neighborhood pub: simple, satisfying comfort food that pairs perfectly with a cold beer. And then there's the fish tank. Seriously. That thing deserves its own Yelp review. There's something ridiculously relaxing about sitting at the bar, having a cold beer in front of you and watching the fish cruise around behind the glass. It adds this weirdly peaceful element to a classic pub environment. Bazil's is the kind of place you don't necessarily go to "experience." You go to hang out. And sometimes those are the places you end up remembering most. Brews. Views. Food. Repeat.

The lady outside that I had never met told me I couldn't bring in my 2 espresso's. She didn't care about the soda and food. I had to leave my expensivecoffee drinks outside. Mind you I have been walk in with coffee for years. I was upset. The inside waitress said it was a city law. Really? When I walked out that same lady was letting 2 ladies she knew come in with coffee drinks. So not cool. The whole thing was very upsetting to a loyal longtime customer.

My husband and I are on a mission this summer, searching for the best Friday Fish Fry near us…read more After 10 Friday meals, Cattails is leading the way. The place is newer and very comfortable with a great bar, if you need to wait a bit for your table. We waited only 10 minutes and we did not mind. At all. A cut WAY above the rest are the Classic Old Fashioneds, served the way they should be -- heavy on your choice of bourbon and very light on the soda. (Definitely NOT Wisconsin Style.) I had a smoked Old Fashioned that was one of the best I've ever had! But the meal got better! A salad bar is not a requirement for a fish fry, but it sure goes a long way. Fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the meal. We both ordered the perch. I had a baked potato side and he had the fries. Best perch we've had -- light on breading, hot and not oily at all. Service was excellent and we decided to have a second Old Fashioned back in the bar for dessert. We'll be back!

I ordered the "Kind Arsonist" burger and she had the Philly Cheese steak. While both of us thought the Philly could have used more flavor, I was quite impressed with my burger; good heat from the Habanero peppers and the grilled pineapple smoothed that out nicely, also had smoked gouda cheese. Both came with chips which were good as well. I would definitely take the small detour the next time we travel through and dine here again.
